Japanese
I'm taking Japanese in the Fall next year. I'll see if I can take two years of it... if I can do it, then that'd be my minor haha.

I'd love to learn a few languages, but I'm not even very good with my own. There's no way I could successfully deal with another one.
I can't believe it either, you're not alone lol.
I'm only learning french and after 5 years I'm hoping to scrape a C at GCSE. A tip though is to always ask if you don't understand something completely. I went through three years of not understanding really any of it and only being able to pick out a few words and it was horrible.
It's a great feeling when your vocabulary is good enough to actually be able to put together your own basic sentences consistently. It sounds dull if you haven't learned a foreign language before but it's actually so great.
ROSETTA STONE!
lol i saw those infommercials and the dude seemed to know what he's doing. in terms of free? you could borrow from the library (the library has tons of carp) buy a book with a cd, order online, take classes, get a tutor. but in all honesty, unless your going to japan and you'll need to speak it well, it's not really worth persuing & putting money in unless your totally serioussss.
goodluckk, dude.

$400, no way.
Why do you want to learn it anyways? =S
I think Blader 9 needs to read the thread about why there is all the hate on the anime fans.
And lulz, I've taken French for 10 years and if you throw me into French Quebec I'm screwed*.
*EDIT- Apparently the F-Bomb isn't filtered if used in the past tense?

Anime has nothing to do with it, it's because I'm Japanese and Korean and a second language is always a good skill and I learned a little awhile ago so I figured I mine as well finish what I started.
Since you're Japanese wouldn't it be a wiser choice just to ask a family member to help you if that is possible? The Portuguese I know is solely because of my family. Since the Portuguese classes I took always assumed you already knew the language.
I think it would be more effective to ask a family member then to use some computer program. Since you don't seem serious enough/have insufficient funds to get a third party tutor, or to take a course.

That throws a wrench into things doesn't it?
Well, hate to be a broken record but taking a course would be your best bet. I tried learning from books for Japanese, as well as Italian, and it isn't the same. Books don't tell you if you're pronouncing things wrong. Books can't carry a conversation with you. Only another person can.
