I went to a tournament with a deck use by the world champion and I lost more than half of my matches. I still got to the final against someone using the world no.2 deck but I still loss so what you guys say?
Is beyblade mostly luck?
Hello Damian67,
In my opinion, Beyblade isn’t about luck, but instead, skill. I do understand how you would think this though, since I’ve had my fair share of times were I have just played terribly, so I’m not judging you for asking this.
Knowing your strengths and weaknesses in Beyblade is important. So, in your case I think you just need to play around with combos and find what you like! I believe in you! If you need some help, please don’t be afraid to shoot me a PM! I’ll test out my Beys later today and I’ll report more after that! \ (^ヮ^) /
Good luck!
Sincerely,
BBX-Dex

The deck does not the player make.
It takes skill to see results and to podium consistently. Is luck a factor? Absolutely. Is the game mostly luck? Absolutely not.

The beys aren't the only thing that matters. It's a mix between beys, luck, and skill.

Ty for the reply
No worries! I loved to help! If you need anything, don’t be afraid to shoot me a PM!
I'm actually going to go against what everyone else here is saying and say that the beys/parts are the most important thing, followed by skill and luck (I.E. 50% parts, 25% skill/25% luck OR 50% parts, 30% skill 20% luck). Like you said, you got to the finals with a champion deck.
Boiling the game down to being primarily about skill allows them to call it a skill issue if someone complains about their meta decks, and allows the WBO to avoid implementing part bans by handwaving overperforming parts for similar reasons ("just git gud", "just wait for another release that counters it", etc).
If skill was really the reigning factor that some make it out to be, then they wouldn't all still be using the same meta decks with beys that have been at the top for 2+ years
TL;DR the game isn't that deep, just grab some combos from the tournament winner's list and you're 80% of the way to being a pro. If you also have the luxury of being able to practice regularly with someone, then you're already at the top.

If you're going up against someone who can crank out thousands more RPM than your best, well... Something to think about. If they run a stam / defense, you're going to get outspun. If they run attack and know how to position a bey on launch, you're going to get outed/bursted. Whether you build your own deck or use a meta deck, it won't matter if you're doing weak launches + have zero control. At the very least master your launches and go from there. GLHF
NO!!!!!!! but also sort of?
