Coming back to this thread with a new slew of hypothetical combos to propose, now that SharkScale and SamuraiCalibur have officially hit the stores in Japan. So without further a-do, here they are!
. SharkScale 1-70T
Starting things off simple for this first one. Learning about SharkScale's quirks led me to come up with this combo. The goal for SharkScale 1-70T is to reach the opposing Beys' Ratchets more frequently without the use of 4-50 or Under Flat. 1-70 is used to balance tune the Blade and reduce the risk of scraping when tilting, while Taper allows it to tilt more freely, especially during the endgame, since SharkScale will naturally be tilting by that point in a match. Personally, I prefer to have Burst Finish-centric combos focus on tilting downwards as much as possible, rather than have them be as short as possible. Until we get something like 1-50 or Under Taper, this might be the preferred combo I'll use for SharkScale whenever I obtain it.
. SamuraiCalibur 7-60D
SamuraiCalibur's weight and shape had me thinking it'd work great as a basic Defense-Type, so that's what this combo aims to do. 7-60 is there for Balance Tuning and adding extra weight to the Blade without using something more risky, like a taller seven-height Ratchet or M-85, and Dot is used to create extra friction against the stadium floor to resist knockback. Normally, square / diamond shapes aren't ideal for Defense-Type Beys, but I believe they can work under the right circumstances.
. SilverWolf Tr
Compared to the previous combo idea that used Turbo as its Bit, I think this one may have more potential to be successful. After taking into account the 90-mil height and Gear Point-like behavior Turbo starts off in at the beginning of a battle, I realized there may be a Blade that can best synergize with it: SilverWolf. Thanks to its iconic free-spinning underside, I believe this particular Blade has the potential to offset some of Turbo's weaknesses and make it usable in a competitive setting.
Thus, here's the premise for this combo: Silver Tr is intended to act as a pseudo Balance-Type. At the start of a battle, SilverWolf's essentially in "Stamina Mode." It'll take advantage of Turbo's initial height to focus enemy attacks onto its free-spinning ring, not only protecting Turbo itself from potential Burst Finishes, but also allowing SilverWolf to conserve its Stamina long enough before Turbo transitions into its "Attack Mode." If all goes well, the opponent winds up wasting enough Stamina to be left vulnerable against SilverWolf's late-game assault, provided it doesn't squander such an opportunity. All-in-all, this will likely be one of those hit-or-miss type of combos, but I love coming up with more experimental combinations; it's what makes Beyblade fun for me as a hobby and special interest.
. HellsFlameW 7-80H
Combos that have all their parts match a particular color scheme (I call these "Color Combos") is my personal favorite type of combo to make in Beyblade (bonus points if its thematically fitting with the Bey's name, like it would for HellsFlame, for example)! This is a relatively basic Defense combo that focuses on "walling out" opponents with the combined thickness of Flame, Wheel and 7-80. Hexa is there because I'd prefer to use a defensive Bit that provides high Burst Resistance, especially with the use of 7-80. If I were to make a blue version of this combo, I'd replace 7-80 and Hexa for 5-80 and Merge.
. WriggleWhaleT 4-50H
Another Color Combo, this time using the Wriggle Main Blade. Arc is my favorite Main Blade in the CX Line, and for the longest time, I wanted to use it for Defense or Balance combinations due to the innate height difference CX Blades have. However, I'm choosing Wriggle instead of Arc, because I have a suspicion that the plastic construction of Wriggle will allow for better overall Balance Tuning. And it's also more thematically fitting with the Whale Lock Chip.
With that out of the way, this is the premise for WriggleWhale: It's a defensive Balance-Type Bey intended to synergize Wriggle and Turn. Until I'm proven otherwise, I always thought that Turn would be the perfect Assist Blade to pair up with Arc, since it's Stamina Mode could potentially help fill in Arc's gaps and make it more defensive. 4-50 is there just to make the Bey a bit less top-heavy, and Hexa's there to serve the same purpose it does for the HellsFlameW combo.
. CobaltDrake 0-70P
Last combo for now. Ever since I saw 0-70, I wanted to see someone pair it up with the original release of CobaltDrake, since its color scheme was a 1-to-1 replica of the latter. This CobaltDrake combo aims to be a pseudo Defense-Type with some counterattacking capabilities, by taking advantage of CobaltDrake's heavy weight and smooth perimeter. 0-70 aids in this with its round shape and its overhanging protrusions to create a somewhat low center of gravity. Lastly, Point allows CobaltDrake to "adapt" to the behavior of whichever opponent its facing, either by sitting still in the center to take hits, or performing an Xtreme Dash as a risky counterattack.
There'll be more combo ideas posted sometime later. For now, I want people to take a look at this new list and gather their opinions on it beforehand.
