How to determine if my Gravity Perseus is a Midfake or not

I recently ordered a Gravity Perseus on Ebay and it has a manufacture code of J2812 on the bottom of the box, but I have been unable to determine if this is a legitimate code. Does anyone know if it is legit or if there is a complete list of all midfake codes that I can compare it to?

I'm no expert, but the paint application looks a little patchy on the bottom, and you seem to be missing the red paint on the clear wheel. October 28th 2012 seems borderline; there were already Shogun Steel Beys in production at that time. Was it sealed in box, or did you buy this second hand?

It was sealed in box, at least it seemed to be, I bought it on eBay from someone with a good feedback score, though it was only 20 bucks. As far as the red goes, I haven't put the stickers on it, if that is what you meant from the clear wheel
Pardon me, that's right. Those are stickers on the metal wheel and not paint apps. I think the biggest clue here is the price, I wouldn't expect to find original TT Beys for $20 on ebay. You might have gotten lucky, but between the date and the price I'm leaning towards it being a midfake. Hopefully someone who knows better than me can chime-in and tell you for sure.

Ah, darn, thanks for the replies though!

Is there any harm in using midfakes? Obviously I would rather use real TT beys but is there any actual risk in using them? I have heard something about higher quantities of lead in them but I don't know if that is actually a concern just by using them.

They’re made of the same materials as real beys, so no dangerous materials. Yours is definitely a midfake, but in the case of gravity that’s a good thing because the midfake is heavier
