[HMS] :: Q&A Thread

Is $300 a fair price for NIB Dragoon MSUV?
No not at all.

$175 at most, and that's a stretch.

One of us buying it would allow us to confirm whether the moulds are exactly the same and can be used in HMS format tournaments.

I'm going to try to win the DEMS. Always wanted a pale blue one.

Turns out I did win it. I will be able to weigh the parts to compare them and can do a photo comparison when they arrive.

Here are the photos.

Is Aero Knight MS any good? Is it worth to have it in a collection?
Im looking to start collecting, what beys are good to start with to give me a solid foundation to build my collection off?
Aurora.Light: Yes, it´s definitely worth to have it in a collection, not only because of its value of about $75, but also because its gimmick is quite awesome. And it´s kind of rare.

jimlich: Since you posted this in the HMS QA thread, may I assume that you prefer HMS? This is quite the most valuable series (in my opinion). So if you want a collection that´s really impressive, then yes, start with HMS!Joyful_2 But you need an decent amount of extra money to collect all of them...
To get a solid fundation, no matter which series you choose, it´d be best to start with some of the rarer and more valuable beys (just check the price reference list for the value) and add the cheaper beys later, if you want.
Another way to start collecting would be to concentrate on one certain theme, such as collecting all Dragoons, A to F Series, V-series (...) (for plastics) or only beys from the gimmick speciality series or all beys from the G Revolution team (for HMS).
Personally, if you´re going to start collecting HMS, I´d say Dragoon MS is a very good choice. It´s competitive parts, is kinda valuable and one of the most famous beys from the entier oriinal series.

Majority of the HMS blades there are a good place to start. Personally, I'd consider Dragoon MS (commonly referred to as DGMS) like Stoney suggested, and Death Gargoyle/Dark Effigy MS (DEMS) as very good purchases.
GrandTempo1987:I would like to ask would happen to know what mold your DEMS is because personally I don't know the differences between the molds are and the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms version seems to be using a new mold. Also I find it interesting that they only used DEMS and the Advanced series excluding Averazer for their new toy line. It makes it seem odd that they released so many different character beys mostly being recolors. Would this be a case of the molds of the other beys being too damaged or lost to be used for this toy line but we may never know the real reason why.
Oh yes, I just saw that you edited your post with photographs, GrandTempo1987. As Kenshin mentioned, there appears to be a difference in the metal slopes. Could you take comparison pictures of the Attack Rings on the side ?
Ooohhh yes. I will take more pictures tomorrow. I'll just edit this post. I haven't taken my orange one apart yet because I was struggling with it for some reason. I haven't had a chance to weigh them yet because I don't actually own the scales. I will be borrowing them from someone who lives an hour away...

You can make a new reply even if you double-post as long as what you post is very relevant and adds something to the discussion. In any case, I just posted, so you will easily be able to publish your new content in a new post now, hah. If you just edit your last post, we have no idea of that update.
That's a good point, thanks Kai-V. So after much thorough scrutiny I discovered there is quite a difference in the attack rings.

The outer metal part of the attack ring on the original is almost a millimetre thinner. This also makes the raised slope a couple of millimetres longer. Any raised features on the original metal parts of the attack ring are less pronounced on the 3 kingdoms version as is shown here;

The raised protrusion is almost none existent on the 3 kingdoms version. The difference in thickness is well illustrated in this picture on a different part;

Does that mean it´s fake???
I would assume it's not fake as it's still made by Takara Tomy but just the three kingdoms version. The mold variation is much further from the original than expected. The photos were to show whether it was a viable option for use in tournaments which I'm now assuming it won't be.

Not so much fake, as a variation.
hi ! wanted to know know much Einstein MS - Tournament Limited (Dark Green ver.) go for ? Smile

this is from beywiki
Quote:Einstein MS Light Blue Ver. - $50
Einstein MS Light Green Ver - 50$
A-136 Starter Einstein MS 25$
Einstein MS Purple Ver. 30$
I have never seen it up for sale or auction, but it was from a World Hobby Fair. I think it could reasonably be sold for approximately eighty dollars or more.
Whoa, I just noticed something. I recently bought a black Dragoon MF from
Sporkseller who very kindly gave me a free blue DEMS attack ring. I compared the blue attack ring with the blue three kingdoms version and they are identical. This would mean that it's tournament legal right? They must have started using a different mould for the DEMS in Random Booster Act 3 and used the same mould for the three kingdoms version.

Ah now that you mention it, the wiki article for DEMS does state the RB Act 3 mould difference. Very nice observation on the 3 Kingdoms version!
Ahhh now that makes sense. I had completely forgotten it said that in the beywiki. So the newer mould is thicker, more robust looking and probably heavier.
Are there any custom for Bunshin Core? (I know there aren't competitive ones, but good casual ones?)

Which ARs would be best for Left Spin?

Ga' had answered your question in September :
http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-HMS-Q-A-...pid1157334

As for Attack Rings, according to Beywiki, Upper Dragon and Upper Attacker are good in left-spin.
Thanks Kai-V!

I will check it right now!

EDIT: I didn't remember, it was almost an year ago, sorry Tongue_out
How much does Wolborg go for nowadays?
I found 3 for sale on eBay, 89 USD total.
It is NIB.
I really want that RC.
It's like the original B: D!
all 3 for $90?

Go for it Smile

here's a helpful resource: http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/...rence_List

Note: people on ebay will very possibly laugh at that list, since many are out there to make stacks of cash and aren't interested in intrinsic value
