General Yu-Gi-Oh! Thread

A large part of good side decking is being able to accurately predict what your opponents will side against you as well.

For instance, Consecrated Light -- it gets sided against me 95% of the time, and I'm prepared for it with cards that I side in like Cyber Dragon and Thunder King Rai-Oh. It's not enough to just cover your deck's inherent weaknesses, you have to be prepared for the things people will bring in against you too.
That is true, thank you for thought heh. However nobody plays Crystal Beasts competitively do they Roan?
No, I have only ever seen the deck being played once or twice in all the time I've been on the competitive circuit. It's a tier three deck.

I'm getting less and less excited for STOR as it approaches. I may go to the sneak to see if I can pull some LSS stuff (and then sell them for an inflated price), but personally, I don't think the set is going to warrant buying any packs for me.
The only card I'm even remotely interested in from STOR is Vortex, which is the promo card and likely to be dirt cheap anyway. LOL

Then what do we put on our cars?

I got some cool rares that I love, but I can't really use them. Uncertain
I just realized that if you can deck yourself out if you're stupid enough to use Maxx "C" against the Faultroll loop, hahaha.

Then I guess I'm going to have to work extra hard eh?
Daegor, would you mind telling me the best way to use E-Heros? I'd like to blow the dust off my E-hero deck and add useful things to it.

how can u not want ice edge its imence im gona run 2-3 in my fableds
I think I'll be going to the Sneak Peek for STOR, but my feeling is the same as Daegor42's; I don't feel that excited about it. It's going to be slightly annoying to see people play LSS's once their Deck is complete though; I won't be switching to them any time soon, if at all.

But, I'm sorta interested in X-Sabers; I hope Gold Series 4 will feature them.
I'll be going to the STOR sneek peak, hoping to pull some LSS to sell/trade bait since I figure a lot of people will be after them seeing who amazing they were in the OCG.
Also hoping to get the mat.

>he quotes a Smash term.

I love you.

Seriously, it makes me smile whenever I see this phrase. We Smashers are gonna take over the internet.

You could check out my deck in the deck thread to get some ideas. Basically, use the Omni-Heroes (the Elemental Heroes that only require a Hero and a monster of a certain attribute) if you're going to use fusions at all. They are the best and most consistant. Alternately, you could go Light Hero Beat, using the light heroes like Neos Alius and Prisma in conjunction with cards like Gemini Spark and Honest for a much more control based deck.

Elemental Ice Edge is okay at best. It doesn't even help Fabled all that much; the discard is a cost, not an effect.

is anybody going to battle of the kingdom anglair i am
Thanks Daegor, I also will be going to a STOR sneak peek, my first Sneak Peek to be exact, hoping to get the mat there, I probably won't pull anything worth mentioning.
I have a question regarding X-Sabers and Blackwings. In this current format, which one generally has a higher rate of success in a duel against each other? X-Sabers, or Blackwings?
Assuming that both decks are packed to the nines (3 Duality, 3 Emmersblade, 2-3 Warning), I think Blackwings have the upper hand, but only just barely. I would put the ratio at like 55:45. They're pretty evenly matched, it's really just a matter of who goes first and gets their set-up pieces.
Eh, I would give Blackwings more of an advantage than that. Personally, I'd put it more as 6:4 Blackwings, but that's really just an arbitrary number anyway.

I feel like Blackwings are comfortable playing a wide range of decks, including X-Sabers, as long as the player is good. The control/disruption aspect of Blackwings is really great. Then again, I used to play Blaxkwings and I've played against only one X-Saber deck which was piloted by a scrub, so I might be biased.
Thank you, guys! I also have one more question: on YT, there are people you run Delta Crow in their BW Decks. I've noticed that you (Roan) have taken it out from Diamond's BW Deck. Is it possible to give me a reason as to why?
Delta Crow was only ever good at the start of this format when people were being foolish and setting 4-5 back row at a time.

Now, they've gotten smart and only ever set 2-3, if that, so whereas Delta Crow used to offer the potential for huge plusses in the form of backfield wipes, more often it's now only a 1-for-1 or maybe a 1-for-2, though that's really rare.
I just got these cards in mint condition:
Archfiend Zombie Skull
Discord
Unibird
Battle mania
Ally of justice rudra

All are shiny..lol Are any of them rare or worth anything?
I haven't dueled any X-Saber builds yet, nor do I hear about them much. What's the main point or main strength of them?
They swarm the field with Faultroll for potential OTKs and replenish their hand with Darksoul searches. That's really about all the deck does. lol
They're all about the Special Summoning. XX-Saber Boggart Knight (1900 Beat stick) can Special Level 4 X-Sabers from your hand; I have seen an OTK happen when there were 3 Boggarts and 2 Faultrolls in a guy's hand, and he used Saber Slash to clear the opponents monsters, after he Summoned all of those Monsters.

>< Beaten.

Another Edit: Now that you put it that way, Roan, it makes them slightly less appealing to play, when compared with BW's. xD We have so much in our toolboxes.
