So this is my first time even thinking about beyblades what should i know about it?  

I mainly want to know where to start and whats the rules on customizing and aftermarket parts

Basics are... There are currently 3 beyblade generations, plastic, metal, and burst, with burst being the most recent, popular, and in my opinion, best. You cannot LEGALLY modify actual parts, but if you want to record a youtube video or just screw around with your bey mods, be my guest, cause, like, everyone does it.
