In an arena filled with people, two Beys fought against each other valiantly. One painted in gold and the other being in silver.
Keep on going, Raiden!
A blonde girl commanded the golden Bey named Raiden, which pushed the blue Bey against the wall, rapidly bouncing around attempting to escape.
Impressive... you're an interesting fighter indeed.
Smugly, she gave her opponent a wide, cheeky grin.
There's more from where that came from, hee-hee!
Her Bey applied even more force to her opponent's Bey, immobilizing its movement.
But I also got something more up my sleeves.
Even though her competitor was serious, she proudly put her hands on her hips with arrogance.
I know that, moron!
The blue bey began spinning quicker and grabbed hers, throwing it to the center where it was heavily destabilized, scraping the floor.
Go speak for yourself.
Despite her remarks, he only stared at her with his dark eyes, void of emotion.
Offended much? Now with that out of the way...
The girl pointed to the sky.
It's showtime!
From behind, a voice called out for her.
Come on! Push it!
A boy cheered for her on the bleachers, shouting out what he said along with the crowd's cheering.
I know, Mako-tan! I'm pushing the wheels off of this thing!
She confidently replied to her friend.
Right, you better be!
The boy happily cheered on for her as Raiden regained balance.
Tear her down... Uriel!
Its owner commanded it, his voice piercing through the sound of the crowd cheering. And so Raiden & Uriel collided with each other, creating great winds around the stadium.
Raiden!
The girl cried out with a rising tone, and they'd push against each other even more, with Rei crying out with great strength.
Full throttle!
They clashed for longer until a metallic noise reverberated across the stadium.
W-what...?
Silence ensued, it was deafening. It was as if time had stopped, with everyone staring at the aftermath of the event.
...
Yeah, things happen sometimes, but I-I don't know why... why this happened.
[3 weeks earlier, Tokyo Station]
A train stopped, and its doors opened.
Hello Tokyo!
A blonde girl with tanned ran off a train, ecstatic and cheerful along with a friend of hers.
Hold on, wait up!
The boy walked out and stopped, before calling out to her.
Rei!
The girl, Rei, turned around to her friend, smiling.
Rei: What is it, Mako-tan?
Makoto: Slow down, will you? You wouldn't want to get lost here.
Makoto would hand her a backpack.
Hey, wait a minute... this bag is mine!
Rei: Ah, I forgot it!
Rei took her bag swiftly in shock.
Rei: My bad, I was just a little excited.
Smiling widely, she scratched her head.
Rei: Silly me!
Makoto let off a little sigh as he crossed her arms.
Makoto: Well, I can't really blame you for that.
Makoto looked around his surroundings then back to Rei, who was still smiling like a little puppy.
Makoto: It's your first time around here anyway. So you've got every right to enjoy Tokyo!
He walked past her.
Makoto: What do you say?
Makoto looked back at Rei and smiled at her.
Rei: Nothing's stopping me, so here I go!
Rei was about to run until her stomach grumbled.
Before that though... I wanna have uh...
Makoto immediately took notice of this.
Makoto: Ah, so you're hungry?
Rei: You sure do know how to deal with this, huh?
Makoto: You've done that several times before. Please don't burn yourself out.
Rei: I woulda been fine if my snacks didn't get stolen by a raccoon earlier!
Jeez, those damned raccoons... really?!
Makoto looked at his phone's map.
Makoto: I know a good restaurant around here.
Rei immediately jumped up to Makoto and looked at his phone.
Rei: Holy hell man! Where is it?
Makoto: Don't get so worked up now, it's just a little walk away from here.
Rei: Alright!
Rei jumped back into position and there was silence between them for a moment.
Rei: Is it cheap?
Makoto (prolonged): O~kay... uh...
Makoto checked his phone again.
rei: That's a red flag, is it expensive?!
Makoto signaled Rei to come along with him with a little hand gesture.
Makoto: Well, good news. It isn't, so follow me real quick.
Rei's mood lightened up a smile curled up on her face.
Rei: Thanks, Mako-tan! You're a lifesaver dude!
She hugged him tightly, embarrassing Makoto.
Makoto: H-hey, Minagawa? We're in public.
Rei backed off of him.
Rei: Right, sorry! I know you're timid and all that, it's just a lil' skinship though!
Makoto: Man, you're still the same after all these years.
Rei: You know me, same old Rei!
Makoto: Never change.
Makoto scoffed at her, and the two of them went on their way.
Makoto: First off, we'll have to go down the stairs and to the left.
Rei nodded and both of them walked down the entrance towards the Keihin-Tohoku Line's entrance and to the left, passing the ATMs, a restroom and an escalator.
Whoa, damn... This place is way bigger than I expected!
Rei: Hey, Mako-tan? How many times have ya' been here?
Rei looked at him curiously.
Makoto: Ah, a lot of times actually. My uncle lives around Shibuya, we visit him every holiday or summer.
Rei: Ohhh... I gotcha now.
That guy's prolly livin' in a nice condo or something, I'm a little jealous of 'em!
They continued walking until they reached the station's exit.
Rei: Wow! This looks like one of those Catholic churches!
Makoto: I'm surprised you know about those, but you barely know anything about Tokyo.
Rei pouted and puffed up her cheeks.
Rei: I'm not that dumb as you guys take me as, you know?
Makoto giggled because of how Rei looked like.
Rei: I'm interested in traveling and stuff, I'm trying to learn some languages as well.
Makoto: Any progress?
Rei put a finger on her chin, thinking.
Rei: I know a bit of German, I guess?
Makoto was taken aback quite a little, surprised by what she said.
Makoto: Seriously? That's quite exotic for a first language if you're learning one.
Rei: Hehe, yeah.
Makoto: Can you try speaking in German?
Rei raised her eyebrows.
Rei: Oh! Okay, okay. I'm not too good but lemme just...
She then cleared her throat, before speaking.
Rei: S-Schönes Wetter heute, nicht wahr...?
There was silence between the two and Rei's face began to turn red.
Dear god, that was absolute dogsh*t...
Makoto: You...
Makoto looked at her while she looked away in embarrassment.
Rei: Don't look at me, man. I know that was some awful stuff...
Makoto: No, it's surprisingly good for a first-timer. Even though I don't speak German, I've heard some people speaking like that on TV and I'd say your accent is really close!
Rei: Hrnng...
Rei's mood lightened up, but her face was still red.
Makoto: We're close, don't worry too. This one's on me!
They arrived at the place, which was a café.
Rei: Oho, a café?
Makoto: Mhm, and like I said earlier. They've got some really good stuff and they're cheap too!
Rei: Sounds great! What are we waiting for? Cuz' I'm hitting the dash!
Rei ran ahead of Makoto, who reached out for her.
Makoto: Don't get too impatient, watch your step!
Rei: Huh?
Rei tripped on the steps as she ran, not seeing them.
Rei: Wah!
Makoto: Hup!
Makoto caught her from behind, saving her from falling.
Geez! That is really close!
Pulling her back up, Makoto dusted his clothes off.
Makoto: Hey, are you alright?
Rei: Yeah! I was like, inches off the ground or something!
Makoto: I suggest that you be more careful from now on, okay?
Nodding, Rei and Makoto headed inside and took a seat.
Makoto: Finally, some rest.
Makoto sat down and so did Rei, but her eyes were still wide open.
Rei: Too damn close...
Makoto: Were you still surprised by that fall?
Rei: Mhm.
Makoto: Calm down now, Minagawa. The bill's on me, so you can relax for now.
Makoto gave off a smile, calming her down.
Rei: Awesome, so uh...
Rei read the menu on the table and set her bag aside, choosing what she wanted.
Rei: Let's see, hmm...
Rei was reading the menu until a waiter passed by and tripped.
Ah!
Rei: What?
Two glasses of water were spilled on her head and clothes.
Makoto: Minagawa!
Rei: My clothes!
The waiter immediately tried to clean up his mess.
I-I'm really sorry, ma'am! I'll clean it up!
Rei: Nah, I'm okay! Here, don't worry.
She picked up the glasses that fell on the table.
Waiter: But...
Rei: Chill out, it's not like we're all perfect aren't we?
The waiter stared at her while she tried to help.
Rei: There you go!
Rei noticed him staring at her.
Rei: Why're you still staring? Anything else wrong?
Waiter: N-nothing, it's just...
Rei: Hm?
The waiter bowed his head quickly.
Waiter: Thank you!
He'd leave quickly back to the kitchen.
My clothes and hair are wet, but this will dry up... Eventually.
Makoto: I'm still surprised you didn't get mad.
Rei: Hey, even though I dress like a gyaru, that doesn't mean I'm one.
Makoto gave her a blank stare at what she said.
Makoto: You sort of are though.
Rei: Sort of! That's just it, simple!
He'd be silent for a moment before slouching back on his chair.
Makoto: But it's nice that you're like that way, I never expected that from you ever since we first met.
Makoto stood up and went away.
Makoto: What was it that you wanted again?
Rei: Yeah, it was the uh... matcha donuts and espresso.
Makoto nodded at her and left.
Makoto: I'll be right back.
Makoto smiled at her for a little before heading for the counter.
That Makoto...
Rei pulled out her Bey from her bag, which was a golden Bey with five blades around.
I'm looking forward to this debut, right Raiden?
Her Bey gleamed with a golden light in response.
