Energy Layer Base - Raid

Raid is an Energy Layer Base released as part of the Speedstorm System. It debuted with the release of Raid Luinor 3A-D Destroyer-SPM.

==Description==

Raid is a very aggressively shaped Energy Layer Base, with two Dragon heads followed by points serving as the main contact points. Behind these are sloped attacking areas. Raid is notably less sloped than its Takara Tomy counterpart, Rage. Another notable difference is the lack of metal dragon heads, these being replaced by plastic on the Raid Energy Layer Base. This makes the Raid layer base rather light. It also cannot hold a Chassis to increase it's weight.

Unfortunately, due to being a light layer base, as well as losing the 3A Chassis' attack points that made the Takara Tomy Rage Longinus a good attacker, it is rather ineffectual for Attack combinations. It is also hollowed, meaning it weighs too little and is thrown around more by it's own recoil. Zone has a much better shape for attacks, even with it also lacking metal, and to add to this, even for lower tier use, Raid is outclassed by Nightmare Luinor L3.

==Overall==

The Raid Energy Layer base, despite being an adaptation of the Takara Tomy Rage ring, is rather light and ineffectual in Attack combinations. It is a rather light layer base, and does not have enough weight to be used in Attack combinations, and is too aggressive for any other combinations. Thus, Raid should be considered for collection purposes only.
