Quote:==Description==
ColbaltDragoon is an Attack Type Blade in the Basic Line that features eight blades, four main blades that act as the primary contact points and four sub blades.
Like the other Team Pendragon Blades, ColbaltDragoon is a reference to Team Bladebreakers' Beyblades from Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, in this case being Dragoon. The Gear Chip features the side profile of the Blue Dragon (Seiryū), one of the Four Auspicious Beasts from Chinese mythology. Like the other Team Pendragon Beyblades, the Gear Chip has the Bakuten Shoot Beyblade logo.
ColbaltDragoon features one gimmick: It is the first Left-Spin Blade in the Beyblade X Generation (not including Blades from the X-Over Project).
The Left-Spin nature of ColbaltDragoon causes several notable interactions with Right-Spin combinations.
First, Cobalt Dragoon will move in the opposite direction to standard right spin opponents. This can cause in increase in contact rates between two mobile combinations and can cause CobaltDragoon and the opponent to directly clash on the bottom side of the Xtreme Line.
Second, the nature of opposite spin contact means that ColbaltDragoon and a Right-Spin opponent's Blade with spin together like gears if they are of similar spin speed which heavily reduces recoil and Burst rate, though the momentum of an Xtreme Dash and the aggressive design of ColbaltDragoon and can still create strong Knock-Out potential in Opposite-Spin matches so long as there is a great spin speed difference.
Finally, the gear like nature of Opposite-Spin matches allows for Spin Equalization.
One feature to note however is that ColbaltDragoon is extremely unbalanced as each of its sub blades are hollowed out to different degrees. This imbalance severely hinders ColbaltDragoon's ability to win the Stamina battle that results from Spin-Equalization and requires the use of Ratchets and Bits that can give ColbaltDragoon as much stability as possible in these situations, such as 5-60 and Elevate.
On Attack combinations, ColbaltDragoon's weight of 37.8 grams and aggressive design gives the Blade high Knock-Out Attack Potential against Stamina Types so long as the combination can make use of an Xtreme Dash. If a ColbaltDragoon combination cannot Knock-Out its opponents with an Xtreme Dash, the opposite spin nature makes it highly unlikely to score a last minute Knock-Out at low spin speeds. Furthermore, ColbaltDragoon's instability and aggressive design means that the Blade struggles against other Attack Types in Attack vs Attack match-ups as it can easily lose by being outspun or knocked out.
On Stamina/Spin-Equalization combinations, so long as the Ratchet and Bit combination can give ColbaltDragoon stability the Blade can show decent, if somewhat inconsistent Stamina/Spin-Equalization potential, capable of outspinning Stamina combinations and parrying Attack Type combinations.
==Overall==
ColbaltDragoon's heavy weight and left-spin nature makes it a highly versatile, though inconsistent Blade. While it can function effectively in both Attack and Stamina/Spin-Equalization combinations, ColbaltDragoon is notably less consistent than more typical choices such as PhoenixWing and TyrannoBeat in Attack and WizardRod in Stamina, making it a Jack-of-all-Trades, Master-of-None in the current metagame.
As such CobaltDragoon is not a must have, but is instead a welcome addition to any blader's collection.
