==Description==
Vortex, abbreviated as V, is an Attack Type Bit that features a flat tip with spikes protruding outwards and twisting to the right, being a reversal of its predecessor Cyclone.
The shape of Vortex is meant to increase surface area while not increasing diameter, creating more grip against the stadium floor and thus greater speeds in Right-Spin. However the low friction nature of plastic means that Vortex does not show high grip attributes and instead grinds and slides over the stadium floor irrespective of spin direction. These attributes give Vortex unique movement properties compared to more standard flat Bits such as Flat and Rush.
Compared to Flat and Rush, Vortex shows slower acceleration before reaching its top speed (if uninterrupted) and thus while more than capable of reaching the Xtreme Line, Vortex combinations will take longer to reach the Xtreme Line compared to other high movement Bits. Furthermore, once at top speed Vortex can perform more Xtreme Dashes than Rush. However, the rough perimeter of Vortex also drains Stamina, leading to poorer spin times compared to Rush.
Vortex can thus be used for both Attack combinations and Anti-Attack/Mobile-Defense combinations.
In Attack combinations, Vortex's slow start but high top speed makes combinations easy to control, able to attack with high spin speed in the center of the stadium early on in the battle and perform an Xtreme Dash later in battle when spin speeds have dropped enough to prevent self Knock-Outs on the Xtreme Line.
In Anti-Attack/Mobile Defense combinations, Vortex's slow start lets combinations circle the center of the stadium early on to avoid the opponent's Xtreme Dashes and later move to the Xtreme Line and Xtreme Dash as a counter attack against Attack Types that have lost Stamina and have begun to settle in the center.
However, Vortex's poor overall Stamina means that the Bit cannot be used for Mobile Stamina combinations, easily being outspun by more standard Ball based Stamina combinations.
==Overall==
Vortex, like its mirror counterpart Cyclone, is a versatile Bit for with both Attack and Anti-Attack applications and thus is a must have for competitive Bladers.
