While I appreciate you sharing this piece of completely worthless anecdotal information, it doesn't pertain to the topic at hand and shouldn't have been posted.

Guys I just had bought the YuGiOh Lengendary Card Collection. I'll keep it mint for an future customer
*Limited Edition Colored God cards*
Ra x2
Slifer x2
Obeliskx2

My best possesions ha lol.
@BFireblaze 6509: Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra; I really hope they don't screw up Slifer (Osiris). That was my favorite out of the three.....

Ultimate: I was thinking of that, but Bribe let's me stop Spells/Traps even though they're not targeted at my monsters. Also, I think having a decent number of Counter Traps will protect my monsters before I sac them for a god card.

Daegor42: Thanks for the awesome tips, bro. Aside from Stele and Rite of Spirit, I definitely need to pick up Dimensional Prison (... buys three Machina Mayhem Decks because he can... maybe... heh). I was thinking of throwing back my Torrential in there, as it may be useful if I don't have any monsters... I think I'll put it back in there. I took it out in the first place because I was afraid to lose my sac monsters.

I'll modify most of the Spells and Traps to your advice, and I think I'll get rid of Gorz and the Sorceror.

Thanks guys~! Hopefully when I re-post my Deck, there will be a Divine-Beast or two lurking in there. =)
桃太郎, if there's one spell you should absolutely put in your deck, it's Royal Tribute.

No kidding, that card wins games and is typically the only reason I ever lose to Gravekeepers. I know Daegor suggested it already, but it's a terrible, terrible card to come up against for your opponents.
Oh! I read about that on Wikia. Yeah, it seems like a winner; how many copies would you recommend me keeping in there? And would you say it's quite anti-meta?
Well, it depends on the number of monsters you're going to run.

Typical Gravekeeper decks only run around 15 monsters, so that they can more easily Royal Tribute their opponents without losing any of their own monsters.

But since it looks like you're going to run a higher monster count to support Obelisk/Ra, I would probably just play 2 Royal Tribute.

And yes, it's definitely an anti-meta card.
Thank you so much for your help, Roan~! I've taken a look at your awesome Blog, too; very insightful and helpful. =) I'll be looking for some Boosters that have Royal Tribute, Rite of Spirit and Stele, but if not, I can always order online.

Again, many thanks to you~! =D

No problem! I'm glad to hear that my blog has been helpful for you, that is why I made it after all!

Speaking of my blog... I'm looking to start "branching out" with the stuff I write for it. What kind of things would you all be interested in reading? I was thinking of doing some discussions on proper side decking, as well as some meta-game analysis, that sort of thing.

If you have any other ideas for articles that would be both fun to read and write, let me know!

PS: I've gotten close to 1,000 hits in a month on the blog! That's amazing, and I really can't believe it. Smile

Yes to all of the above, please!

Anyways, more on topic. You can call me the king of strange fun decks, but I'm toying with the idea of creating a Codarus Zero deck. I just really like Codarus' effect, and I feel like the only way to fit him in a deck would be an Abs0 build.

I'll be back with a build as soon as I figure it out, haha!

Actually, it's funny that you mention this, because a guy who plays at my locals made a deck just like this recently. He ran Warrior of Atlantis and Elemental Hero Ocean with Salvage, Deep Sea Diva and Moray of Greed, stuff like that.

It's actually kind of cool.
(Dec. 30, 2010  5:01 PM)Roan Wrote: So for those of you who actually have any tournament experience, I need some thoughts on my side deck. Here it is right now:

2 Banisher of the Radiance
2 Cyber Dragon
2 Thunder King Rai-Oh
2 D.D. Crow
2 Nobleman of Crossout
2 Chain Disappearance
2 Trap Hole

That's 14 cards. I have one open spot, and I can't decide whether I should put in a Mind Crush (which is amazing right now due to all of the searching going on -- Pot of Duality, Gravekeeper's Recruiter/Commandant, Darksoul, etc.) or a third Nobleman of Crossout. I kind of think NoC would be redundant since I'm also running Banisher, but at the same time I have a really tough time against Gravekeeper's and hitting that Spy is going to help me out so much.

What do you all think?

Mind Crush sounds solid here. What's the Chain Disappearances there for?
(Dec. 31, 2010  9:26 AM)fragbait Wrote: What's the Chain Disappearances there for?

My first thoughts would be:

Lumina in Lightsworns.
Rykos in Lightsworns, Quickdraw and Debris Plant decks.
Dandylions/Debris Dragon in Quickdraw and Debris Plant decks.
Avenger/Necromancer/Mirage in Infernities.
Treeborn Frog

In short, a lot of stuff.
So I also run a Synchro deck for when I duel my friends just to have fun, anything I should take out or add?

Monsters x33 (Click to View)

Spells x7 (Click to View)

Traps x10 (Click to View)

Synchros x15 (Click to View)

Hit the nail on the head.

It's primarily for the Monarch and Debris-Plant matches, but it can be used against a lot of other things too.

Chain Disappearancing a Treeborn Frog or a Debris Dragon will very literally seal the match for you against those decks. Without those two creatures neither of the decks can function properly.

I went to a local Indigo Book Store today to pick up two copies of the January 2011 Issue of SJ so I can get the god Cards for my upcoming local this Saturday. I cannot add the following as Daegor42 and Roan have suggested just yet:

+3 Gravekeeper's Recruiter, +1 Gravekeeper's Guard, +2 Royal Tribute, +3 Gravekeeper's Stele, +1 Giant Trunade, +2 Rite of Spirit, +1 Torrential Tribute, +1 Royal Oppression, +3 Dimensional Prison

However, I can add Gravekeeper's Guard x1, Giant Trunade x1, Torrential Tribute x1, and possibly Dimensional Prison x3. The reason why I can't add the rest is that I will not have enough money in my PayPal to buy those cards online in time for the tournament.

Anyway, here's my current Main Deck:
Monsters - 21 (Click to View)

Spells - 9 (Click to View)

Traps - 10 (Click to View)

My confused Side Deck (Click to View)
桃太郎 -- A few things...

First up, I would very strongly suggest moving the third Book of Moon you have in your side deck to the main deck.

Also, it says on your deck list that you're playing 3 Bottomless Trap Hole -- this may have just been a typo, but Bottomless is semi-limited to 2 copies, so you'll need to get rid of one of them if that wasn't a typo.

Finally, I'm not going to lie, your side deck is a hot mess. My guess is that you're going to see a pretty varied meta line-up when you go to locals tomorrow, and the whole point of a side deck is to have some extra cards to give you the leg-up against unfavorable matchups.

Having said that, you should be side decking cards to help you against Blackwings, X-Sabers, Debris-Plants and the mirror match. With that in mind, this is what I think your side deck should look like. I realize you probably don't have access to all of these cards, but it'll give you something to work towards:

2 Cyber Dragon -- This is a GREAT side card in general. It's a free special summon when you control no monsters, and it's 2100 attack will be hard for a lot of decks to get around. Side this in against Blackwings and any other deck that uses monsters with high attack.

2 D.D. Crow -- This is also a huge side card right now, used primarily against Debris-Plant decks. Discard it and remove from play one of their creatures when they attempt to use Pot of Avarice and the whole effect of Avarice fizzles. You can also chain it to the effect of Debris Dragon to remove from play their special summon target. Aside from Debris-Plants, it's good in a lot of other matches as well.

2 Thunder King Rai-Oh -- Another staple side card. Stops your opponent from adding cards from their deck to their hand, and since you aren't running GK Recruiters its effect will almost never hurt you. It also can be sent to the graveyard to negate an inherent Special Summon (Cyber Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon, a synchro summon, things like that that aren't special summoned by another card's effect). It's great against X-Sabers and in the mirror match as well.

2 Nobleman of Crossout -- A lot of top tier decks rely on setting monsters right now, most of which just so happen to be Flip Effect monsters, primarily Ryko and Gravekeeper's Spy. If you hit one of these with a NoC, it will remove all copies left in your opponent's hand and deck from play. The only catch is that it also removes from play any copies you might be playing, so you'll have to be careful with it in the mirror match! It's also great to use NoC in the X-Saber match if you read a face down Darksoul or Emmersblade, as NoCing either of these will remove them from play and keep your opponent from getting a search off of them.

2 Starlight Road -- Blackwings are going to be somewhat of a difficult matchup for you, and this card is great when dealing with Blackwings' trump card -- Icarus Attack. It can also be sided in against Gladiator Beasts to help deal with GB Gyzarus and a few other rogue decks.

2 Trap Hole -- Invaluable right now. Not many people side this anymore, but I'm of the opinion that it belongs in every side deck. The only deck that doesn't frequently normal summon monsters with more 1000 attack is Debris-Plants. This card will help you against almost every other deck.

1 Royal Oppression -- Your deck doesn't revolve much around special summoning, and this card will help you lock your opponents out of making their biggest plays while you build up field presence, allowing you to more easily summon Ra.

1 Mind Crush -- Literally EVERY deck plays some sort of search card right now. Pot of Duality, Gravekeeper's Recruiter, Charge of the Light Brigade, the list goes on. The point is that Mind Crush is incredibly useful right now. Say your opponent Sangan searches for a card you really don't want them to play. You now know what it is that's in their hand, so simply activate Mind Crush and make them discard it. The rulings for this card also allow you to see your opponent's hand to verify whether or not they have the card you declare for its effect. That's really valuable information!

1 Giant Trunade -- This isn't normally a card I would recommend side decking, or for that matter main decking. But I think it could really help you out against back row heavy decks like Blackwings. Trunade away their backrows to turn off their Icarus Attack, then set a bunch of your own back rows and blow them away when they try to attack.

Hope this helps!
Back as promised with my Codarus Zero build. Not sure how it'll work in practice though.

I feel like I don't have enough protection though. Hn.

Small note: I have a Terra Firma in my Extra Deck so I can use Prisma to dump Ocean.
Honestly I would probably try and squeeze at least two Pot of Duality in there. I also think three Salvage is a little excessive. Two would probably be fine.

Alright, I'll take out a Salvage for a PoD. I just don't see anywhere I can squeeze in another Pod.
Forgotten Temple is cool I guess, and since the deck revolves around Codarus I suppose it's necessary, but I probably wouldn't play it if I were to use this deck. I would drop them for another PoD and maybe like a Psuedo Space or even just a third PoD to help you get to your Legendary Oceans faster.

I mean, you already run 3 Oceans and 3 Warriors of Atlantis, are the two Forgotten Temples really that necessary?

Perhaps a general Yu-Gi-Oh thread is needed? Grats though.

Sigh... I forgot how much hassle proxying cards is. I'm also still concerned about my lack of protection. 3 BoMs, 2 Bottomless, 1 Mirror Force, and a TT.

Actually, that's not so bad. Hn.
