Blazblue: Calamity Trigger

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiXL6NWzVXM

I'm surprised nobody's made a topic for this yet. O_O

Basically, the peeps behind Guilty Gear are making a new title under the name Blazblue. It's a traditional fighting game oriented towards fast-paced action, with gauges for shield brakes and offense that reward you for going on the attack. It comes out on the 30th in the US. I have the collector's edition preordered XD

So, anyone else getting this? Who are you maining?
I'm probably using Noel & Arakune.
2D fighters are niche, super niche. I've heard Blazblue has gotten "meh" reviews in Japan. I'll probably rent it because reviews never really do good for fighting games. But I think after Street Fighter IV, and before King Of Fighters XII, and Tekken 6 was probably not a good idea. You've got massive hype for those three.
The game has had a pretty hardcore following, and it's insane. I checked it out at Anime Matsuri.

GET HYPE.

I meant game play you carp. (Although look how many times Street Fighter II has been re released.)
blaz blue is very interesting indeed.

I will probably end up buying it
I'll probably rent this next time a free rental comes around and decide it I want it. SFIV was okay and all but it didn't seem like more than a rental to me, and I bought SCIV last year so I'm always hesitant on fighters now.

That always used to piss me off during a Kid in the 90's, wondering when the next Street Fighter would come after all the additions and changes, but then comes Street Fighter Alpha a backlog of the Street Fighter story, then finally later on they decide to do Street Fighter 3 after maybe 5+ years of waiting. Now i see why the Mortal Kombat series grew bigger since Capcom kept everyone waiting.

I really think fighting games are starting to fade out, barely any developers step into the Genre anymore compared to what it used to be, now you're left with either the Big name franchises or spinoff's from Dev's who've made the " Big " fighters. The only real upgrade we've seen with the genre so far this decade is Introduction to Online play, Customization and 2v2 or 3v3 action, I really don't know what more can be done to the genre tbh.
Maybe one that has characters and a story that aren't anime trash?
i'm only interested in fighting games with ridiculously diverse character creators

basically SC3 and i don't even care about fighting, it's more playing dressup for me

I loved SCIII's Create-A-Soul but then they ditched all the custom disciplines in SCIV, which was upsetting
my buddy got 2 Blazblue's by accident, I'm not sure since one is Collector's Edition. pre-order from EB, and somewhere online xD
This game is so epic O_O

I'm just glad I don't have to do complicated motion things to pull off special moves. It makes it so much easier to figure out what you're doing XD I like playing as Arakune the best, it's interesting using curse to zone your opponent, or force an approach.
ADDICTED. Seriously. Get this game. It's not like SF or SC but once you get the hang of it...it's awesome. PLUS this is the PERFECT online game because the NetCode is Amazing!

Jin X Faye
This game.
Is.

AWESOME!

Nu is freaking broken...I play her for right now because it discourages people approaching....4hp8hp6hp kthxbye
Lol, you know someone's broken when they can combo a third of your health w/o touching you.
The 2-d anime art style looks great in this game. I might try it out someday when it drops down in price.
It's an Arkyss game, it'll go out of print before it goes cheaper.
I had never even heard of this game until I heard a song called "Under Heaven destruction" on youtube and...WOW

I checked on wikipedia and did you see all those awesome voice actors? Jamieson Price, Michelle Ruff...The gameplay also looks awesome...

Must buy it Chocked_2

EDIT: I hate Hakumen
Got that limited edition for my PS3.

Honestly, I wish I had a PS3 for this game so I could have a competent dpad to use.

you could just get a fightpad or fightstick which will cost a lot less than a PS3
