I don’t really get the wide spread hate/dislike for beyblade x in comparison to the other generations. Yes they’re all about beyblade but beyblade x is more of a sports anime while the others are more dramatic shonens. I feel like most people expect the wrong things from beyblade x. They expect it to be like the others, a shonen with intense action, exciting earth shattering battles, and fantastical abilities when that shouldnt be expected of x. If you don’t personally like sports animes that’s completely understandable, but most of the opinions i’ve seen on x are less about indifference but x being for some reason offensively bad. At least in my opinion, generally as an anime I don’t find beyblade x to be that bad. I find it entertaining to watch and yes some elements like bird being a chronic loser can be polarizing I feel like it’s not all bad. Beyblade x has its moments of great writing and emotional interactions. Do beys go at supersonic speeds like in burst? no, do beys have the ability to spontaneously spawn tornadoes and destroy boulders? no, but for what beyblade x is that’s fine. I like how it’s more grounded(not completely grounded I know) because it feels closer to the actual game that we play in real life. The previous generations were focused on making an entertaining super action packed show while x is trying to feel more connected to reality, making a world where beyblade is a real sport feel more present and I think both goals are great. Of course everyones taste is different, if you truly just don’t find X entertaining then that’s fine, but I don’t think it should be compared so rigidly to the standards and elements of the previous generations and should be judged more as its own standalone project because it’s not trying to be different and that shouldn’t automatically be a bad thing like a lot of people are making it out to be.
