With Team Yggdrasil being complete frauds (destroying any tension of Team Persona losing for once in the series, despite Burn being built up as their first real challenge), the anime getting repetitive, and Bird's character dragging on in both mediums......X has hit a low point, I can't lie. I'm hoping that UX gives the series a second wind.

I'm just so sad this series even suffers from these problems. We've had protagonists that lose before (look at Valt) and even if they're unbeatable, if the series is written in smart and creative ways tension can still be built. Bird's character is also dragging on, and given that the anime has to expand on him, he's dragging on even worse in there.

I don't get why they don't just do a traditional hero's journey, since all the losing at this point has made his character stale. He had a cool start playing into his weakness, but after that, all he's done is lose without growing in any significant aspects. I know I said I wanted them to take a more interesting perspective, but I wish they'd give him the most generic development possible if it lets him grow for once.

I'm not denying that when he finally develops it'll most likely be pretty awesome, but poorly-handled development and a well-handled conclusion can co-exist. I'm just hoping that whatever new Hells Bey he gets in the UX system forces his character to evolve.

But c'mon, the 2v2 starting 3/4ths the way through the chapter and unicorn sting only getting 2 pages of shine time? What a waste for such a cool bey. The bladers seem neat too, too bad they turned out to just be fodder.

That being said, I honestly would say I still enjoyed this chapter and zonamos's/the sphinx avatars expressions were amazing.

Why in the anime, Xtrem Finish is 1 point and not 3 points like IRL rules ?

So Ekusu didn't lose obviously, but what wasn't obvious was him being able to beat Burn with virtually no trouble. It was cool and all but story we finally had some real tension, but it was obliterated once again. It feels like our protags will never lose at this rate. Even if he didn't win, I wish Burn was more formidable, Ekusu essentially just did his normal double X-Dash he already used but multiple times, and Burn still went down.

Don't even get me started on the Multiplayer Battle. Sphinx and Unicorn were done crazy dirty, and their bladers were super weak, really disappointing. I get that Bird would be the strongest, but I wish they gave Team Persona a little trouble at least. Bird loses again with no real progression. His new move is literally just another imitation one, he's always following Ekusu and isn't actually growing as a blader Even if this is intentional it's been so long that it's getting annoying.

Also, I feel like Bird's Imitation Infinite X-Dash had no impact. It weakened Sphinx, but that doesn't mean much. Without someone else to not only solo Unicorn but also have enough stamina left to go toe-to-toe with Sphinx, Bird would've been cooked, even if his attack did little damage. These fake wins (like the Kadovar Challenge time limit) just don't feel as satisfying narratively.

If they keep pushing Bird in his losing streak and Bird and Multi become a lot more famous, maybe there'll be a day when Bird loses hope as the leader.

The writer may pull off a plot twist of Bird quitting Team Persona and becoming a solo blader on his own. Abandoning Hell Scythe and anything Multi crafted for him behind.

Maybe a new character appears and inspires Bird to create his own Bey and battle on his own to prove he can win without any teammates. Final battle between Bird and Kamen X. I mean, wasn't Kamen X the main protagonist of this series? Making Bird the antagonist against Ekkuso kinda makes sense, I guess?

I guess that would be a decent way for the story to go but truthfully I just don’t want Bird to be losing for half of the season and just want him to generally get stronger as time goes on and just train more as Bird losing is just getting extremely repetitive

I don't think him creating his own bey would happen. It's already been established that beycrafting is a sort of profession and you need to be registered. Also no, Ekusu is not the protag, Bird is. Ekusu is kind of like the mascot in a way.

I'm not exactly sure what the writing team plans to accomplish with making Bird such an absolute jobber. Even if he somehow powers up later on, the damage has already been done. There is no satisfaction in his Bey Battles, unless you start counting the amount of times he's lost for a sadistic pleasure.

Bird has literally been done absolutely dirty and it’s just sad. Look I don’t think 45 needed to say “People still watch this garbage?” as people can like whatever they want to but I honestly see why he doesn’t like the anime very much… It’s just downright boring as nothing has happened at this point in the story I mean even by this time in DB there was I guess some development introducting Rashad and same with other gens but where for X? Obviously I hope the 2nd half of X picks up but whether it does remains to be seen. I think the X beys have a bright future but I don’t know about the anime & manga…

We’re not saying he has to destroy every blader he battles but that he shouldn’t lose every single battle as it becomes repetitive. We should see him slowly get better and better overtime with training and hard work. You didn’t see anyone complaining when he was losing at the beginning but he just keeps losing again and again and exactly what development ? How has Bird improve or change in any way? Oh wait… he hasn’t.

Most of the problems the anime has the manga does as in exactly what has developed in the manga NOTHING.Bird still sucks in the manga and there is barely any character arcs. In fact as disappointed I am in the anime the anime is honestly better if I’m being completely honest. Look can we please just agree to disagree? I’m getting tired of this..

How? If we see an arc of him training hard & working hard how is winning ruining his development? What you want him to keep losing then unexpectedly win at the end of the season? That doesn’t make any sense
