Beyblade Burst DB Episode #46 (February 4, 2022)

I gotta say, if they do end up doing that, it would make his character pointless altogether. They bring him in, hype him up as some big threat, have him prance around for 2-3 episodes ehikst hardly bringing any depth or personality to the table and then he loses in the most pointless character arc ever. Of course, it's not set in stone or anything, but if they do make Payne lose that would be lame IMO

The only reason a character named Payne exists is because of DB Phoenix. So TT don't care what happens to him in the show, they just had to make a character to represent that bey and that's it. Take it or leave it, it's upto you. I feel like that's also what happened with Shu. Like.. what's his role in this season? The only major role he had in the show was the cheer up valt after savior got broken which even rantaro could've done 🤷. So you're telling me they only brought him back to advertise Spriggan? If it's not the lamest thing I've ever seen in beyblade burst, then I don't know what is. A fan favorite character, and you waste him like that.
I just realised the title had the name of a special input hadoken...
this episode is prob gonna be good. i have been liking db alot so far.
There is only a little these writers can do in a 10-12 minute episode and people are expecting there to be much development? Valt has been in the Beyblade burst series and we have felt nostalgic for his capabilities as a legendary blader, and I can understand why people admire him so much. But people have to understand, Valt is not God. I’m tired of scrolling through YouTube and people going with the “plot armor” card everytime their character loses. Is valt suppose to win every battle? Why do you think that the producers are “using valt” or “disrespecting MUH BOI VALT” in any way? It’s the same people that licks Valt’s boots when he wins and cries plot armor card whenever he loses. Or even begin to disrespect other characters *cough* Rashad *cough* because they act like they know what valt think, sees, and feels and tries to speak for him when he could speak for himself if he had an issue with a certain character.

Rashad: (copies Valkyrie)

Valt: (Says nothing and allows Rashad to make his own Valkyrie)

Fans: “OOOH THATS SO DISRESPECTFUL. VALT WORKED HARD TO GET WHERE HE IS NOW”.

Can y’all just let Valt be a human being with human emotions? It’s ironic how you call yourselves fans of valt tbh. Valt spreads positivity and most of the so called “valt fans” spreads negativity. But then again, that’s almost every fanbase.

The thing is, Shu's incredibly popular and the Spriggan line has always been consistently good since Requiem, it's going to sell because it's Spriggan, fans will eat that up. The creators of the show have fully caught on that they can do whatever they want with Shu, and they know fans will still buy Spriggan no matter what, and they're right. And this is only referring to people who are watching the anime. It's lame on a story perspective, but it's just how it is.

I agree that Valt absolutely cannot win every battle there is, he's gonna have his losses and try to overcome those, but I honestly don't think Valt should still have his "legend of all legends" title because I honestly don't find his abilities to be that impressive nowadays, it feels like nothing more than a status quo that they cannot let go of. Valt can pull off some really sweet victories when it counts, but it feels like he loses a bit too often. I would still call him a "legend", but not "legend of legends", especially when it's just so the show can continue to treat Valt, Shu, Free and Lui as glorified goal posts for the "new main character of the week" to overcome. At least in DB, Valt did get more of a story role and I really loved the concept of Rashad being a huge Valt fan, it's a really nice idea and finally puts Valt's status to proper use.

he doesnt lose often. every loss he had he has won against them more times or has one against them before. only exception is rashad. valt definitely deserves the title of the legend of legends. he has a good win loss record. and is the no.1 blader

This ep better be the start of DB’s redemption arc or else we gonna dunk on Payne for being “wasted slot”

It’s kinda the truth at this point, as Payne’s arc was just shoved in before the inevitable Bel vs Rashad.

PAYNE IS GOING TO LOSE. EVERY TIME IN BEYBLADE BURST, WHENEVER THERE IS A DOIBLE BURST WITH THE PROTAGONIST IN THE PREVIOUS EPISODE, THAT BLADER ENDS UP LOSING. PAYNE IS GOING TO LOSE.
Phi would be disappointed in his successor.

i don't think that's the goal with Phenomeno. He most likely doesn't even know who Phi is.
i'm not a fan of when the writers decide to powerscale a rookie/new protag upwards just to beat a legend for plot
The fumiya, Lodin, Xhan, Kyle effect is starting to happen to Payne fans are expecting to much from them cause the own beys that has a legacy. Basara and Blind got lucky cause Boa wasnt that big of a deal so not much of a big expectation, and the kiyama bros has the same face the last 2 are reskin Rantaro with different personality.  Payne looks like his going to suffer the same after he loses to Rashad oof I feel sorry for this character
That is the most valid point I have seen all day

Not my point. He's just a disgrace to the Phoenix line. It deserved a way better user than phenomeno to live up to It's reputation.

You could argue that Phoenix doesn't necessarily have to be bad but I would only expect an evil guy to use Phoenix since he'd know that Phoenix has what it takes to defeat everyone. But to see Payne's awful motivation and just how he turned "good" in 5 episodes, it just didn't feel fulfilling. But that's just me.
And then you have people who overhyped Payne’s character and compared him to Phi way too much.

Yea the issue isnt Payne but rather the fans. I knew from the moment he was being hype this much he was bound to suffer as a character. Thats why i'm personally against giving beys that has legacy to other not because they dont deserve it but cause this is what is going to happen to them,  mfb is the only series that did the Many characters can have the same bey but still different.
Payne was certainly not meant to be the next Phi or anything, and I don't expect Burst to do it because they rarely ever acknowledge the previous owners of a bey with some kind of legacy, with Xcalibur, Ragnaruk and maybe Fafnir being the exceptions. Payne is highly unlikely the main antagonist or anything, he's just another side character. I don't expect Payne to do as much as Phi. With that said, he's still fairly disappointing as a standalone character. He could own an entirely new bey motif and he'd still be underwhelming.

I'm not a fan of giving beys that has legacy's to some random character who essentially just feels like a one and done side character that we'll never see again, unless it's like Xhan, who was meant to be a direct successor to Xhaka and handled far better.

Agreed Xhan is they only one that was handle well as a character who has an xcalibur to honor his teacher's xcalibur and got Xhaka blessing on top of that. Yea i also think Payne having a new motif was better Perseus is literally their to be use Payne definetly need more work specially when his whole character is resolved around someone he has to beat but will ultimately lose to that same person he'll fail to the only thing his built for . I had that issue with gt their was like 5 to 6 bases with reuse chips instead of well make they using then for the characters that was using legacy. If the wanted to sell longinus, fafnir and Bahamut they literally couldve pull a Lord situation just put it in a set and its a win win.
Today's battle has some great visuals. You know it's gonna be insane when two tall guys fight it out in the stadium. So sad (not really) to see Phenomeno leave and never to be seen again.
My thoughts on the battle:

So guys, what's your final consensus on Payne? B? C? F?
