The first trailer states the movie will be released on 03/11/11. 0311 is the U.S. Marine Corps Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code for Infantry Riflemen.

Battle: Los Angeles (also known as World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles outside the U.S.) is an upcoming 2011 science fiction film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and starring Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, Ne-Yo, and Bridget Moynahan. The film's premise is inspired by the 1942 Battle of Los Angeles incident (sometimes called the "Great Los Angeles Air Raid of 1942") in which a presumed enemy attack, later deemed a "false alarm," led to an hour-long anti-aircraft artillery bombardment over the city of Los Angeles. The film is set in modern day Los Angeles and follows a platoon of Marines and Airmen during a global alien invasion.

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world - Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world's greatest cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It's up to a Marine Staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered before.

Since Last July when I was in San Diego I have been waiting for news on this movie. I saw a billboard and became immediately interested. I can't wait for this film to come out. Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez are two of my favorite actors. I'm not sure how much Ne-Yo's involvement will help or hurt the movie, but I'm certain it will be good.

Can you explain the shaky cam thing to me? I like it as an added film affect, and I've never had problems with it. I first heard complaints after Cloverfield. Maybe I'm just weird.

It's a joke. I was playing on the meaning of the word alien.

Also, I just don't like shaky cam. It was cool when it first came out, but honestly, I like being able to see the action. If shaky cam effects also had some sort of haptic feedback, then it'd be fine, but as of now that's impossible (or is it? It's not gonna happen anytime soon though.).
