It depends. If it's a tad rounded and that's it; it should be fine.

If it is too aggro, then its performance is defintely altered. If its worn to the point where it nearly circles the tornado ridge of the stadium, then I'd say that's a good sign that a worn one isn't as great for defense. Slight wear is okay.
