What a mess, is there a site I can buy them, and for what price should I be seeing for these legit beys? I'm not willing to drop 120 or even 300 for a kids toy, id just buy the mid-fake at that point.

I think most sellers don't know, actually - and even if they do, they're not gonna advertise them as midfakes, unfortunately. It just isn't good for business. At best we would get them to put the codes up and/or a notice saying "produced past official production" I think.

I'm sorry but I'm half-new to these things. Why would a midfake be a lot worse than the original? Because it's MIDfake, it should be almost like the real thing, right?

The molds are generally different, despite their similarities. The midfake molds are generally lighter, have worse shapes, worst materials (like harder rubber), wrong parts, lower plastic quality, off center or incorrect paint/printing, etc.

It's case by case - some midfakes are better by a bit, some are worse by a bit but still usable, and others are worse by enough to be totally unfunctional, or have totally wrong coloured plastic. In general, it's better to think of them as reproductions.
