[Answered]  launcher emergency

I lost my string launcher as in it broke. Does anyone want to send or suggest a cheap way of getting a new one?

Thank you so much for sharing the link.
Aside from control what makes the string launcher different from the ripcord?

With good technique the max power for both launchers is comparable. Winder has a slightly higher top end power, but sacrifices a lot of control to get there. String sacrifices the very top end of power to give you access to a lot of extra control/launch placements. Its generally personal preference and both String and Winder see use in top level play.

What if someone were to master a ripcord launchers control?

The angles that you can physically place the winder launchers are limited because of the stiff ripcord. Its not a matter of mastering control its a physical limitation of the launcher.

Adding on to what fabel said, you're physically limited to what you can do with a winder launcher because of the ripcord. For example, you couldn't tilt your launcher backwards or launch very close to the stadium floor, since the ripcord would be bending against the floor and/or your hand will hit the inside of the shroud, both obstructing your(opponent's) launches. Ripcords also have more resistance when launching, meaning you have to pull with a good amount of strength almost all of the time, whereas with strings there's less, so there's more unique approaches to how hard or soft you want to launch without having your launch angle thrown off. Winders also have a quirk of getting their gears stripped down over time, whether it be the ripcord or the launcher itself, meaning you have to constantly replace them to keep the power aspect a mainstay.
