Some of the new HyperSphere beys have Forge Discs that are based on the Plastic-Metal-Hybrid discs that Tomy has, but without the plastic and with new Disc Frame compatibility. As of now there are Sting, Hurricane, Blitz, Drake, Ratchet and Vanguard. I was wondering if these "new" Forge Discs have been weighed yet.
[Answered] Have the Hasbro Forge Discs (GT) been weighed yet?

Disc weights:
Hasbro's Sting weighs around 18-19 grams
Hasbro's Blitz weighs around 17-18 grams
Hasbro's Hurricane weighs around 19 grams
Hasbro's Ratchet weighs 19-20 grams
Hasbro's Drake weighs around 19 grams
Hasbro's Vanguard weighs around 20 grams
Keep in mind the weight could vary between different discs.

Thanks a ton. I wasn't sure if they were competitively viable, at least we can compare weights with other Forge Discs.
With the fact that discs are interchangeable between TT & Hasbro, it’s hard to see a reason to use Hypersphere’s lighter (worse, IMO) alternatives.

If Hasbro decided to give any of these Discs any significant weight, then there would be a reason. However, according to my rough estimate, as well as a long, incomplete list, the Heaviest Hasbro Disc (Hasbro Vanguard) is exactly as heavy as the average of all Pre-Frame Discs (about 20 Grams). So you're pretty right here, there's no real reason to use them over other, better discs.
Exactly. Why handicap your self with a 18-19g Sting when you can just use the TT one on your same combo at 28-29g? This is especially true if you are using Hasbro layers, as you are already giving up a good bit of weight to your TT counterpart.
