Hello,
I recently picked up the 24" Toymeca Decagon Stadium for my son and his friends to do Battle Royal and haven't set it up yet. I wanted to see if anyone had any insight or thoughts - reasonably priced - to make this beast a little safer for the Burst era.
One concern is the gameplay. It doesn't really have a defined Tornado Ridge like you find in traditional Burst stadiums. I found one Reddit post that mentioned using hot glue and trying to lay down a perfect circle. Does anyone have any other ideas? I almost feel like buying some sort of plastic, cutting out a 20" whole or whatever size and laying that over the stadium's less-pronounced ridge to give it a little more height. I would think down the line, if (read as "when"), he transitions to Beyblade X, I could find a 3D print option to address this if I can't do it now.
And the BIG issue: Has anyone successfully created or come up with a protective guard for this thing? We're just now in the DB era and using those Blades against some of the prior seasons leads to a lot of bursts. Cool. But I can only imagine the pieces flying everywhere, and at their height, that leading to a lifelong "you going as a pirate this year for Halloween" type of incident.
My first thought would be to purchase a large acrylic dome or something and cutting an opening. But online searches yield small diameters or ridiculous prices like this 24" dome. I was also thinking of going with something like mesh/netting similar to what you'd find at a baseball game to protect against balls out of play. I just can't seem to get my mind around how I'd build the underlying supporting structure for that option.
If anyone has any advice or experience going down this rabbit hole, I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks!
