AHOY BLADERS
Welcome back to Erie PA for another exciting tournament. As always, there's a good number of rules to go over before we get this party started.
Rules:
Battle Type: 3-on-3
This event will prioritize the battle type of 3 on 3 meaning each balder must have an official deck of 3 legal Takara Tomy and/or Hasbro Beyblades. When the match begins, you will reveal your deck to the judge, but WILL NOT show it to the other blader. You will then chose the orientation of your deck before revealing your bey 1 at a time as the match progresses. Once your deck has been fully used, you may them chose to re-orient your deck, or keep it the same before the next round begins.
Format: Swiss (First stage, first to 5/Final stage, first to 7)
The Swiss format will be used for this event. Each blader will have a chance to battle a new opponent 5 times, with the potential for a bypass. The blader you fight will be of similar level to you within the match (i.e. if you win 2 matches, your opponent has also won 2 matches). The first stage will be first to 5 points (IF YOU SCORE MORE THAN 5 IN THE ROUND, IT WILL NOT BE REGISTERED IN CHALLONGE) with the final stage being first to 7 points.
Scoring:
Spin-Finish: 1 Point
A bey comes to a complete stop within the battle zone before the other bey stops spinning
Over-Finish: 2 points
A bey is sent into the over zone and DOES NOT return to the battle zone
Burst-Finish: 2 points
A bey is separated, either by having the layer removed from the ratchet, or the bit removed from the ratchet, within the battle zone
Xtreme-Finish: 3 points
A bey is sent into the Xtreme zone and DOES NOT return to the battle zone
Please be advised that this tournament will make use of the following Optional Rules in addition to, or in place of, rules listed in the Format Rulebook:
Own finish:
When you score an Xtreme finish or over finish against a Bey that did not touch your Bey during the battle, it is considered an own finish instead.
When you score an own finish, you earn 1 point. Then, the battle is restarted.
This optional rule can be applied to individual stages of the event.
Out-of-bounds finish:
If the opposing Bey leaves the battle zone through the launch area and becomes unable to return, instead of restarting the battle, it will be considered an out-of-bounds finish.
You initiate an out-of-bounds finish when the opposing Bey exits the battle zone through the launch area, and score when it becomes unable to return to the battle zone.
An out-of-bounds finish is worth 2 points.
For each battle, the BX-10 Basic Bey Stadium will be used throughout the entire tournament
