Since the announcement of Beyblade X on march 21st (which i got to see in Shibuya on the large screen in the crossing, not related, not related, just a flex)I was heading to see that there is no official Beyblade community events or tournaments in my country and I have decided to make it a mission of mine to found and develop a Beyblade community that is not only active, but prolific in Israel.
After doing some digging around with some contacts that I had from being a Yu-Gi-Oh player in some local game stores I have found one that was interested in hosting Beyblade events and that's how the story begins...
Since then with the arrival of the show to the country in december, the community grew and many events were hosted (about 200 across formats during the past year!) averaging about one almost every work day across formats and stores averaging between 10 and 20 players on popular formats
We've also had some major collaborations with conventions such as haruon animatsuri and nomzy con as means of giving more exposure to the game and its community, with a turnout of 500 players in those tournaments overall
One of my proudest achievements was making contact with the broadcasting network for the show in Israel (Nickelodeon Israel) and hosting a premier event and tournament in which we have broadcast the first two episodes of Beyblade X dubbed
Also to help to spread the word of tournaments events and the community as a whole I have created a YouTube channel, while it may have not boomed in popularity but exposed many new people (and now players) to the competitive scene and the community
Overall it was a pleasure and it still is, being the founder and the main supporter of the lovely Beyblade scene in Israel, And I more than encourage you all to take an active position in your community, and in case anyone happens to be from the area or passing by I welcome you all to our tournaments, feel free to reach out with suggestions or just words of encouragement, I appreciate this for him and everything it stands for and I would like anyone who took part in the process of helping me create those first tournaments!
Thanks for reading this long post!
