Konami Europe has announced the game as "Beyblade: Metal Masters - Nightmare Rex". It appears they will be skipping Bakugami Susanoh Shuurai, and Chouzetsu Tensei Vulcan Horses.

Hmm... I wonder if this will get a North American release. I'm guessing that it's probably going to be for 3DS though. That would be cool if it was. Actually, it would be pretty interesting to play a Beyblade video game in 3D. XD

It's just going to be an english port. No difference, probably.

The game looks like carp so I don't think they'll do anything to put it on 3DS. Their target probably won't have a 3DS by then anyways.

Gamespot spent some time playing this game at this years E3. Here is what they saw.

There has been a long line of games based on the Beyblade manga series, which focuses on young people who battle each other using beyblades: spinning tops imbued with the power of magical spirits. Today we spent a little time at the Konami booth checking out the latest game in the series: Beyblade: Metal Masters for the DS.

At the beginning of the demo, we chose a small team of characters and clicked our way through a few screens of anime-styled art and text that set up the situation. Our heroes had received a letter from a mysterious character named Agito, informing them of the upcoming Beyblade World Championship. Evidence suggested that this Agito might be up to no-good, so the brave young characters determined that they had to win battles to climb up the beyblade ranks and find this Agito. Following this story sequence, we found ourselves launched into a series of beyblade battles.

Before each battle, we had a total of three seconds to mash three buttons. Mashing each button improved one of three attributes of our beyblade in the upcoming match: speed, power, and timing. Because inputs don't register if you try to mash multiple buttons at once, you're encouraged to prioritize the attributes that you value the most (filling up the meters for power and speed, for instance, before mashing on the timing button), which lends this simple process a bit of a tactical consideration.

During matches, we used the control pad to move our spinning top around an arena, dashing into the opposing beyblade in an attempt to cause damage or knock it out of the arena. One button called up a shield but prevented us from moving, and some combinations of button presses and directional inputs resulted in special attacks. For instance, one of the beyblades we used in combat briefly sprouted wings and sped some distance forward, while a beyblade we battled against summoned a dragon spirit that shot straight up out of the ground. We also experienced one head-on clash with an opposing top that resulted in a prompt to mash a button, and our successful mashing of said button stunned our opponent for a brief period of time.

After one battle, we earned something called a fusion wheel, which had wind properties. We didn't get to spend time tinkering with this component, but a representative indicated that in the full game, players will get to do quite a bit of beyblade customization as they progress through the story and unlock new components. The full game will also feature multiplayer competition so that players can pit their customized beyblades against each other, and it seems like that might be where the combat is at its best.

The battles felt a bit slow and simple during our time with the game, but we were only able to scratch the surface; the action may reveal plenty of depth as you progress. With 37 playable characters, plenty of customization options, and competitive multiplayer, Beyblade: Metal Masters may have a lot to offer. We'll bring you more on this game as its projected fall release approaches.

All-New Battles Will be Spinning to Nintendo DSâ„¢ Handheld Systems This Fall

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that BEYBLADE Metal Masters will be coming to Nintendo DS handheld systems this fall. Inspired by the hugely popular range of Beyblade toys and the action TV series entitled BEYBLADE: Metal Masters from Nelvana and d-rights Inc., BEYBLADE Metal Masters allows players the ability to customize their own Beyblade spinning tops as they take on 37 different characters from the TV series. The premise of the game is similar to that of the Beyblade toys, where the winner is decided in a last-man standing competition. Players will need to time their attacks to send their opponent out of the arena all while keeping their Beyblade tops spinning at all times.

Everything about BEYBLADE Metal Masters has been designed to keep the controls simple, yet offers the many tactical strategies the popular series affords. Players send their Beyblade into battle and can also add combination attacks via a series of button presses. Key attacks from the TV series have been faithfully recreated, allowing users to perform the 'Pegasus' diving attack to smash into opposition units, and the game also features spectacular finishing moves to earn victory with finesse.

The new game is also closely tied with the ever-popular toy range from Hasbro Inc., and players can enter a special code from their bundled Beyblade toy to unlock its constructed Beyblade parts in the DS game. In total, BEYBLADE Metal Masters offers 100s of enhancements to the user's basic Beyblade, while experience points are also accrued by equipping the Beyblade with BEY FORCE and winning competitions to further strengthen its properties. These powered-up units can then be used in a variety of multi-player modes that complement the social elements of the toy series. Wireless 'Battle Modes' allow users to take each other on, while 100s of Missions and a Survival mode allow the solo user to hone their skills.

Personally, I'm kinda excited about the fact that you can enter the codes from your Beyblade's to unlock they're parts in the game. At least now those codes will have some real use. XD

I am hoping that they will do what they did last year, because I don't want to buy a crappy bey and game just to get the (MF-2?) Plus the title for Nightmare Rex looks so simplistic, it pisses me off.

No, I don't want Nightmare Rex for the sole purpose that since Cyber Pegasis wasn't released although Sora was in the anime, that Vulcan may not be released although Nile is in the anime.

An English port redone is more like it. Just like with the Cyber Pegasis game, which the story mode was almost entirely different consisting of stages instead of clicking on any open area of the map to find where to go next.

The Story mode in the Original Japanese version of this game sucked. It's like an arcade mode what you see in the arcades. The battles are random for a few matches. You unlock a new character after beating story mode with a character you haven't beaten it with yet. I hope the english one will change that and actually make an actual story mode.

So, I did some digging around, and I found some pretty cool info on this game.

Firstly, you can preorder the game at Wal*Mart, or Gamestop. (At least, those are the only two sites I checked.)

Secondly, there will be collectors editions of this game. Although, I don't know if each collectors edition comes with different Beyblade's, or if there is just one Beyblade that comes with all collectors editions

Lastly, the collectors edition, according to GameStop, comes with a Black Susanow. Either that, or they are releasing the Bakushin Susanow Attacks game, instead.

My guess, they are probably releasing Bakushin Susanow Attacks, and the Big Bang Bladers game will probably be next. Either that, or they are trying to combine them to make 1, better game. Thus, I will also post this in the Bakushin Susanow Attacks topic.

Lastly, they probably just chose to release a Black Susanow because they already released Susanow.

Now I'm wondering if this "Black Susanow" is the Luna Eclipse version... Probably is...

I got thinking, and I think I figured out what's happening for the Collectors Editions of this game. If they release 3 different collectors editions again, then the Beyblade's that come with each different on will probably be: Bakushin Susanow Luna Eclipse Version, Nightmare Rex, and either Divine Chimera or Vulcan Horseus.

I'm guessing that Bakushin Susanow Luna Eclipse Version will probably be available at pretty much any store that sells games, since it was listed on GameStop.com

If they release Nightmare Rex (Which they probably will, since that picture was posted by To.) It will probably be exclusive to a store. Much like Cyber Pegasis was, last year.

If they release Divine Chimera (Which I hope they do, and they probably will, if they want to release 3 versions again.) it's probably going to be exclusive to a store, too.

Personally, I hope that they release Divine Chimera, and that Vulcan Horseus doesn't get released with a game. I would rather Vulcan Horseus be released as an individual Beyblade so that I would be able to get Divine Chimera with the game.

Then again, this is all just speculation here...
