You spoke and we listened! Over the past several years, the WBO community has come to value new formats and play styles. Many of you have hosted unranked 3on3 and P3C1 formats and it’s thanks to your hard work that we can make the following announcement:
Beginning January 1st 2022, Pick 3 Choose 1 and 3-on-3 will officially become ranked formats. This means that approval for ranked tournaments in these formats will no longer need to be granted on a case-by-case basis. This is the first time that the WBO has ever offered multiple match formats and we’re excited for what this HUGE change means for our communities around the world. We look forward to hearing your feedback as we roll this update out in the new year. More information about these formats can be found below or in the Organizer's Guide.

1. When a match between two players is announced, each player assembles three Beyblades with no repeating parts in secret. The same rules for no repeating parts in WBO Deck Format apply here. Once a blader has constructed all three Beyblades, they must announce that they are “set” and present their launcher and Beyblades to the judge for inspection. The judge will then inspect each Beyblade in secret to ensure legality.
2. After both players have their Beyblades ready, they turn around and present their combinations to their opponent. At this point spin directions or modes on parts which require disassembly can no longer be changed.
3. Each player is given 30 seconds to identify the Beyblades presented.
4. Then, each player turns around and makes their final selection of which Beyblade they will use from the three combos they presented to their opponent in secret. They also choose their launcher.
5. The match then continues as a normal match between the two selected Beyblades.

Spoiler (Click to View)
1. Deck Construction: 3 Beyblades
Each blader constructs a deck consisting of 3 Beyblades. No parts may be repeated throughout each combination.
See “Multiple Beyblade Tournament Type Advanced Rulings” in the Gameplay Appendix of each rulebook for additional information.
2. Deck Sequencing
Each blader must then choose the initial order which they would like to play with their three Beyblades.
All three Beyblades must remain concealed from their opponent. This is typically done through the use of a deck box with three numbered slots, but other methods which accomplish the concealment of the Beyblades and their order are also acceptable.
Once a blader has constructed all three Beyblades, and completed sequencing them, they must announce that they are “set” and present their launcher and Beyblades to the judge for inspection.
3. Deck Inspection
The judge will then inspect each Beyblade in both decks in secret to ensure legality.
4. Perform Battles in Sequence
Players perform battles following the sequence of the Beyblades in their deck until one player scores 3 total points.
The Beyblades in the #1 slot will play each other, followed by #2 vs #2, and #3 vs. #3.
5. Re-order Sequence
Each blader constructs a deck consisting of 3 Beyblades. No parts may be repeated throughout each combination.
See “Multiple Beyblade Tournament Type Advanced Rulings” in the Gameplay Appendix of each rulebook for additional information.

5. Re-order Sequence
- If neither blader has earned 3 Points after all three battles have been played between all three Beyblades in each deck, bladers will (optionally):
- Re-order their entire deck in secret within 30 seconds
- Then repeat step number four ("Perform Battles in Sequence") as many times as is necessary using their three Beyblades until one blader has earned a total of 3 Points to determine the match winner.
- Re-order their entire deck in secret within 30 seconds
- If there is a draw in any battle, the battle will be replayed using the same two Beyblades. This may continue for up to three consecutive battles.
After the third consecutive draw, reference the "Consecutive Draws" ruling in the Gameplay Appendix of the applicable rulebook.
- If a tenth total battle is played and a match winner has not yet been determined, reference the "Battle Limit" ruling in the Gameplay Appendix of the applicable rulebook.
