Horror Stories or Movies

Haha, My friend and I were talking about scary movies and I thought maybe to discuss this with everyone. (hope that there isn't another thread :\)

Anyways, the scariest movies I have seen so far is Saw. Well, I wouldn't really call it seeing as I only saw the first 10 minutes and I was already scared to death. The First Scary movie I ever saw was the Shinning. The guy went insane for God's sake?!

What the most scariest movie or story? Or what is your favorite scary movie?

Edited: Haha, I just realized that I might have put this in the wrong section!
my favorite scary movie would have to be just about anything with zombies
I dont like horror movies... but the grudge doesnt have any guts or anything thats pretty dang scary though
Isn't the grudge a japanese folk story. I've never ween it before but my cousin said it was scary.

Apparently another scary movie is called Sweedney Todd or something like that..
they're making another Scream movie lmao
Omg. Another Scream? Wasn't that like 10 years ago. And now they're making one?

Horror sequels get boring after a while for example: Saw 5?

Remakes are okay...
"horror" movies seem to be more about grossing you out than about actually scaring you

horror games are far more effective at actually being scary and tense

Yes, that is true. Cause in video games, you are being simulated to face the horror such as the suffering.
I want to cry Sweeney Todd as a scary movie, uh no its a musical come on, and all he does is kill people not that scary really. Saw was not scary at all, it just had the gore factor and kinda the unpredictibility to it thats all, watch it twice and you will laugh at it. The Grudge..... in a nut shell I want my 1 and a half hours of my life back it sucked a lot, first time I saw it I laughed every time people in the theater got scared it was rediculous how easy it was to guess what was going to happen. Anyway some good horror films: Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2, Sleepy Hollow to a extent, etc.
What about Silent Hill as a horror or Michael Myer: Halloween?
yeah decent, but then like friday the 13th they get sequels and get too predictable
I hate horror movies, I always get bad dreams for a couple of days, the scariest film I have seen is 13 ghosts, never again will I ever watch that, I had nightmares or got scared during the day for 2 years D: I was around the age of 9 or 10 when I saw that.
What is 13 Ghosts actually about? Does it have all the most scariest horror villains in it?
Hm, from what I can remember it's about these people that buy a mansion and on the top floor is all these different ghosts/spirits in these kinda cells or something, and they all get released outside of their cells by some evil person and yeah they try to kill and find the family that bought the house, and you can only see the spirit/ghost if you were these special glasses, it doesn't seem that scary from what I have said but it is. I should never have watched it.

I scare easy......was reading Watership Down last night and was totally creeped out. I get scared by fictional bunnies. =_= That said, I do really like horror movies, I like to be scared, I just haven't seen all that many. Not enough to have a proper favourite. Keep saying I need to rent a load and have a horror night or something but never get around to it. :X

I sorta feel the same, I sometimes like to feel scared but the fictional bunnies. HAHAH
Im having this horror fest with my friend. Im so scared
When I was a child nothing frightened me more than vampires. I actually really like them now. I think the 90's movie Bram Stoker's Dracula (the scene where Dracula is scaling the wall scared the bejeebies out of me) and Blade actually turned them into some of my favorite movie monsters. But when you look at modern vampires in media today it's hard to be frightened of them anymore. Who could be scared of something that sparkles?

The moment I became truly terrified of vampires was when I was about 8. Are you Afraid of the Dark (hurrah Canadian televisioN!) had this episode called 'The Night Shift'. It was about a vampire infecting people in a hospital. I had nightmares for weeks after seeing it. I recently had a chance to watch it again on youtube. It is honestly one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. The terrible acting/script/production values just makes for something horribly funny. I don't remember why it scared me so much.
^ have you ever read darren shans storie? cirque du freak when you where a child? its all about vampires btw, if you didnt you might want to read it.

lmao i cant stop laughing hahahahahaha your sig oh my god rofl! there is something about it that makes me laugh without stopping!

Im scared of dolls as well, they always blink when I see them!!
my friends and i have only recently started watching horror movies. Some great ones we watched were
When a stranger calls
The Hills Have Eyes 2 (it was not the best, but gruesesome)
Freddy Vs Jason ( not good, but violent and funnny)

My fave so far is the Friday The 13th remake, it was awesome

also, tommorow my freinds and i are gonna see the new final destination movie.
I have watched the following films recently

Resident Evil 1 and 2- 1 always made me shiver at the elevator scene but after that scene nothing seems to be scary. Resident Evil 2 wasn't scary at all.

The Descent- This one scared the carp out of me. The crawlers and the small tunnels made me sick

Ghost Train (jap)- This Japanese horror film scared the living daylights out of me. And it was daytime! Im kinda scared about going onto trains and picking up train passes....
