Borderlands 2

It's a necessity... If you have an Assassins Creed 3 thread... a Black Ops 2 thread and a Halo 4 thread... you're gonna need this..

If you played Borderlands 1 you'd know its a brilliant co-op RPG shooter. Borderlands 2 however, is substantially better. You'll fight more enemies in the first half hour of the game that you fought throughout all of Borderlands 1. Borderlands had millions of guns but most of them lacked sense of character. Each brand of Borderlands 2 gun looks entirely different. Whether its the super polished sheen of a Hyperion pistol or the antique style of a Jakobs shotgun.

I have seen the trailer, and this game looks epic!
I'm really excited about the graphics, new guns, and characters
I LOVE BORDERLANDS
I love it also, I'm especially interested in the new character Zero and also Salvador. The enemies are just as diverse as the environments. They're also more interesting to fight thanks to improved A.I.. They band together and even heal each other. They'll also find ways to reach you no matter how far you go or how difficult the terrain. I'd love to see those enemies tailing me.
I saw this on X-Play, now I want borderlands 1 because it will probably have a small price drop after Borderlands 2 is released, sorry for spamming if I did.
Borderlands 1 is around $20 now. I think you could find it for around 15 if its used.
I'm doing playthrough 2 on bl1 other than that I can't wait
If you guys have Borderlands 1, what characters do you play as? I play as a Roland now but on my last playthrough I was Mordecai. Once I get Borderlands 2 I'll probably be using Zer0.
Borderlands 1 is only 20 dollars for game + all the dlc. So go out and buy it.
Sorry to bump an old one but there is no chance that I wouldmt ask this;

What are your opinions of the game? Favorite classes? Weapons? Rare gear? what is your platform?

What are your opinions of the game?
If you liked the first installment then you will find the 2nd a better overall experience.

Favorite classes?
Axton the Commando using this Survival build.
The good things about this class involve the turret. If you want to get from A to B without aggro from enemies you can throw the turret down as a decoy. It's also good for shooting flying enemies. Also provides a shield if you spec into the right skill points.
Axton can also regenerate health meaning you don't have to go scavenging for health packs after a fight.

Weapons?
Different weapon types are affective against different enemies. It's a good idea to keep as many types of guns as you can.

Rare gear?
The Borderlands Facebook page give out a huge amount of SHIFT codes that allow you to unlock rares, I have over 20 skeleton keys currently. I am saving a few for when I hit max level as the guns only last a few levels. You do find them occasionally in the game as mission rewards and random drops but the SHIFT codes has been the easiest way to get them lately.

What is your platform?
PC. I just find the keyboard and mouse set-up allows me to be more dexterous with FPS games.

It's a good game if you just pick it up now and then to get mass amounts of loot. If you want anything deeper, it's best to look elsewhere.
Maya's the only one I've played to 50 in BL2 so far (Xbox 360). Loved her for playing through the game and to kill random mobs, even if she's the worst character dps wise when it comes to dealing with the raid bosses. I ran mostly a Cataclysm Ruin build with some Motion and a Cat mod, currently with 94% SMG dmg and +5 Accelerate (I've yet to find a good blue one with +6). I occasionally spec into Harmony if I play co-op with a friend, to get Res.

This is the build I'm using: http://www.bl2skills.com/siren.html#5505...5505010541

Other than her, I have a Lv 24 Sal I played for the achievement (who's one of the best characters dps wise, but I don't really like him so much for playing through the game), got a Lv 9 Axton and Gaige both in Sanctuary for the Secret Stash and to play later. Also got a Zer0 boosted to 37 for his achievement.

Right now with all the talk about a level cap raise, I'm loosing the will to play/farm. With the way the level scaling works in BL2 for weapons, as is at lv 50, a single lv makes a big difference in gun stats and it's only going to get worse once the cap raises. All the stuff I've got now will be useless again...
I was farming BNK-3R lately (my Hornet's melting Loaders left and right), even got 2 Shams (+ Gaige and Axton heads), but still can't find a Hyperion B!tch SMG (returning legendary from BL1, yeah that's it's name)... But with how long it's taking I might just quit for now and come back to it once I hit the new cap. I had 6 Conference Calls too, including a Praticable one with near max damage from Moonshot farming the Warrior...

Haven't got Scarlett's or Torgue's dlcs yet, will probably get them later.

Gonna hold on to the Golden Keys I have currently (34 unused) too for the new cap. Hopefully I'll be able to get some Plasma Casters this time. So far I haven't found anything great from the Golden Chest, maybe a Hyperion shock Hybridfication e-tech, but I still prefer Jakobs for my sniping needs.
I got an awesome Caster from a red chest once though, during my TVHM playthrough just when I need it. A Lv 42 Tediore Shock Caster, Hefty prefix and all with 55 mag. As if the regular dmg didn't already eclipse everything else I had at the time, the reload absolutely murdered things. It did eat through ammo, but I was using a Stockpile relic to carry more SMG and Launcher ammo.

Also, for anyone who hasn't noticed, the Bee patch screwed up multi-pellet guns:

But at least my purple Ravager still kicks carp up close.
My 1st class choice was Zero. He is lvl 48 now who's primary focus is the bloodshed tree. With him I am in the middle fo playthrough 2. But my favorite class has to be the Mechromancer. Gaige's personality and combat style just work well together, and I love upgrading Deathtrap as much as possible. I have got to say, my favorite characters include Gaige, Zero, Handsome Jack, Mordecai, Moxi, and Tiny Tina, especially Tiny Tina. She reminds me a lot of Cowboy Bebop's Radical Edward actually, and she is just overall a great character. My rarest piece of gear is a Rapid Infinity Pistol at lvl 30 that I got from a box, but as of right now it is the only orange equip I have ever owned minus the Firehawk Shield, but considering how unbelievably rare it is, I can't really complain.

Scarlet DLC is pretty meh, except for the great loot at the end. otherwise I find the entire thing to be very trivial and boring at times. Tourge's DLC was freaking awesome, and hearing Mr Satan's voice as Mr Tourge was even awesome-r...I wish the final boss dropped better loot, and Tourge Tokens were given out a bit more in bulk, but all in all I can't complain. I cannot wait for Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

...I already own the game and have a lvl 48 Zero 0_0, but um, thanks(?)

Also, there are never any in game Golden Keys or SHIFT Codes...what the heck are you talking about? The are only obtainable through certain DLC or from active online Shift Codes...

Well. No offense, but if you revive a thread and ask questions, you shouldn't be too shocked when someone answers them. You also shouldn't assume that the answers were strictly for you. But, you're welcome all the same.

I was referring to the rares of course. I apologise if that sentence was confusing.
SHIFT codes - Outside of the game.
Rares - Inside of the game.

Also, as a purchaser of the season pass, I would be interested to know which DLC(s) you claim include SHIFT codes/Golden Keys. I find it a little odd they would shift, so to speak, the codes in such a way considering the codes are of limited time. I've only ever heard of them being periodically distributed by website promotions, Twitter and Facebook.

Right, bu I am just saying you misunderstood my post, but whatever, let us move past that

You get a free Golden Key when you download the Premier Club DLC. It includes the Vault Hunter Relic, Gearbox Golden Guns, one Golden Key, and the Mechromancer. It was originally only available to those who pre-ordered BL2 but now it is available on the marketplace. Also available is the Creature Slaughter Dome which was also a pre-order exclusive. Also, all the in game bonuses available with the limited edition sets of BL2 are now available as DLC as well. I have had everything minus he limited edition stuff
