Of course we've gotten extremely powerful attack layers such as the Judgement and Zwei layer bases, but pP still dominates the meta(am I wrong? maybe I am ) RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Spriggan 2.0 - Aug. 05, 2019 (Aug. 03, 2019 8:50 AM)Barreto Wrote:(Jul. 28, 2019 2:31 AM)Rouzuke Wrote: Wow, quite surprising combos. Of course we've gotten extremely powerful attack layers such as the Judgement and Zwei layer bases, but pP still dominates the meta(am I wrong? maybe I am ) Is it safe to assume that when someone posts Balkesh, they meant the Hasbro one? So many tournaments under the WBO rules don't restrict using Hasbro against TT (which then would explain why B3 is being used a lot in the winning combos recently) RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 06, 2019 Balkesh is Hasbro, Arc Bahamut is TT. I don't even consider Arc Bahamut and Balkesh B3 to be the same layer. Arc Bahamut's teeth are weak, and although in the past it saw use in opposite spin steal, it is severely outclassed by ChoZ releases and beyond. Balkesh B3, on the other hand, has ridiculously good slopes. When combined with the ridiculously tight spring on Hasbro Bearing, it's good. It's not perfect, it has a lot of counters. But it's quite good. You'll never see Arc Bahamut in the winning combinations of a Burst Standard tournament now. But you'll see Balkesh. RE: Winning Combinations at WBO Organized Play Events - Wombat - Aug. 06, 2019 Beyblade East Part 2 Burst Classic Format | Pennsylvania, USA | August 4, 2019 1st Place: Wombat Roktavor Heavy Cycle Spryzen S2 Gravity Iron Odin Heavy Blow Neptune Yell Eternal Minoboros Knuckle Quick' Dragoon F Polish Absorb (Deck Format Finals Only) Odin Heavy Defense (Deck Format Finals Only) 2nd Place: shota Storm Spriggan Knuckle Unite Acid Anubis Yell Orbit Gigant Gaia Central Bearing Gigant Gaia Central Absorb (Deck Format Finals Only) 3rd Place: Ardmore Bladers Dragoon F Polish Absorb Spriggan Limited Xtreme' Deathscyther Yell Eternal Odin Heavy Defense Victory Valkyrie Gravity Zeta' (Deck Format Finals Only) Victory Valkyrie Knuckle Xtreme' (Deck Format Finals Only) Victory Valkyrie Gravity Xtreme' (Deck Format Finals Only) Despite only having 18 players, I personally felt that the level of competition and variety at this tournament was significantly higher than any other Classic tournaments I've been to, and the meta felt pretty balanced as well. KO Attack wasn't used super frequently but when it was, it definitely worked - bladekid defeated Ardmore Bladers' Dragoon combo with V2.A.X in the group stage, and then Ardmore got him back using only V2.G.X' in the 3rd place match. I was also able to use M.K.Qc' as a pretty neat Anti-Attack combo both times I played against Ardmore. A few people kept KO Defense types in their decks but I don't think any of them had a chance to use them. Aside from that, no other parts were really that dominant, though Odin, Neptune, and Dragoon tended to be the most popular choices for Stamina/Burst Defense. Orpheus, Wolborg, Zillion Zeus, and Yard-S also put on good showings, but didn't really make it past the top 8. The dark horse of the tournament was definitely shota though, who won both of his first 2 Deck Format matches with exclusively stock Anubis, and actually used the TT Bearing to some success in the first stage. Arc Bahamut saw competetive use pre-ChoZ in similar set ups to current Hell Salamander Bearing combos for opposite spin equalization/ stealing. I think Alta can attest to this. Saying it has never been good is quite the understatement. It's teeth aren't it's weakness, they're it's strength. aB on Bearing will refuse to burst even to left spin attack that far outweighs it, but it will come apart easily by hand. It's not resisting the force put on it at all, that's why it wins. At this point it's just too light to OS consistently even against opposite spin, but within it's weight class it will dominate. Unfortunately I cannot say the same of aB Bearing.. Even against right spin opponents, They can launch the right spin bey weaker than aB Bearing and it will burst. It gets to a silly point where me and my friend try to launch our respective beys weaker and weaker, me trying to avoid aB bursting and him trying to burst with low velocity opposite spin. Weak teeth can never be a "strength". If there is an imaginary aB with better teeth, it would be way more competitive than the actual one we have now. Its why we see Balkesh showing up often but never aB. Unfortunately I cannot say the same of aB Bearing.. It has a lot to do with adjusting your speed to the opponent, I had a group of players attempt to burst aB on Bearing during the downtime at Beytuber Brawl, they had no success, even with things like nL, some right spin combos, and a right spin illegal heavyweight combo one of them wanted to test. I could hard launch aB and still not burst, so unless there's something about mine that makes it perform this way I can't see how others have no such luck. Could be that the design of the Layer and how loosely it fits might be helping it regain clicks, clearly that's difficult to prove. I have picked it up many times after a match carefully, and found that the Layer has either lost no clicks or readjusted back to it's first teeth. I will have to upload a marathon of matches with aB.Br to show the performance I'm talking about. What did the bearing combo beat? Can TT bearing be used in semi mobile attack? I really like the movement that stock phantom Orion has when it is tilt launched. Can the burst version of bearing have similar movement patterns? Also, I have seen people use the combo S2.G.Z, but I have never seen anyone use iron over zephyr in that combo and wondered why that was so. So, why did you use iron over zephyr?
