So I want to see who would come to a tournament the same day Yuko rays tournament was going to be. So yea.. Anyone want to come to a tournament in saint Clair shores on the 8th? RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - The Archer - Aug. 29, 2012 Oh that's good, then i'm probably going to make it to yours then RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Blaziken - Aug. 29, 2012 Well anyone wanna go? RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Aug. 29, 2012 Yuko if you're not sure of things why don't you ask somebody. I did massive amount of pming w other tournament hosts before I started hosting. You talk to Kai-v with one sentence responses don't ask for help on things you admittedly didnt know what you're doing. Not once have you pm'ed me since trying to make it official. You change dates out if the blue while keeping the same confirmed bladers. How does that work? You still don't ask questions so why would she make that official? You have 50 responses back and forth that is insane. Now get your stuff in order and hold it on the 8th like you planned. Blaze im pretty sure he was talking to Yuko. RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - The Archer - Aug. 29, 2012 Ya i was talking to yuko And also, Yuko, if you need i could help you at the tournament, i could do the brackets, handle the money, say the rules, judge, i have alot of knowledge of how to host a tournament. i could help you out, ALOT RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Blaziken - Aug. 29, 2012 Ok RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Yuko Ray14 - Aug. 29, 2012 thanks i can handle brakets and money but for sure u can judge RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Aug. 29, 2012 Guys discuss this stuff via PM! Geez RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - The Archer - Aug. 29, 2012 ok we will RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Aug. 29, 2012 I want to repost this, so people see it if interested This Sept 7th registration at 5:00 start at 5:30 Millennium Park in Grand Rapids MI (Aug. 28, 2012 10:51 PM)Coach Wrote: EDIT: ok right now we have: Also if you're interested in on around St. Clair PM Blaziken and let him build a confirmed list so he can submit a proposal. If you want on in Detroit PM Yuko Ray14 and get on him to submit a legit thorough proposal. RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Sep. 01, 2012 Hey guys it's quieted down with school and sports starting but that makes getting proper set up for tournaments even more important. I'm still a couple bladers short of 8 for an official tournament and see no one telling Blaziken or Yuko anything unless you're PMing them thats great. But also lets keep appropriate discussions active in here so new bladers might see it and know there are tournaments trying to be made here. If you want to be a tournament host: Seeing a few of you are having trouble with getting tournaments going, I'm thinking of doing a step by step instructions of setting up tournaments, along with a rough draft of event proposal you can use as a format copy even though at the top of the Officials Event section is says everything you need to include sometimes they end up with one word answers which wont get you buy. I'll also include things of what you need to look for and common problems like tie-breakers, and if bladers aren't paying attention and battle the wrong blader, or if a score gets entered wrong, if somebody leaves early etc. Format #'s: 8-12 Full Round Robin finals will be top 3 or 4 (if it's clearly only 3 and the 4th has a much lessor score just do 3, if all 4 are fairly equal do 4) 12-24 Block round robin min blocks:3 max blocks: 4 min. # in blocks: 4 max # in blocks: 6 Blocks need to be made evenly, either by beypoints or experience. don't put members of the same team in blocks together if at all possible. finals will be winner of each block discretionary additions only in a 3 block format, if the #2 bladers in the blocks are deserving like 1 loss less than the winner, Block Winner score: 5-0 Second place score: 4-1 Take the top 2 in EVERY block. so the championship will be 6 instead of 3. still use discretion with this. 25+ must be double elimination winner is decided in format no additional rounds needed If you have the exact #12 use discretion with how many stadiums you're using whether it's full round robin or block, block will go much further so if you're only using 1 or 2 stadiums think about going with block. as well we've done double elimination with 21 and 23 bladers as well once on purpose once by mistake if you get above 20 double elimination will go much faster than Block round robin. Nobody wants to hang out for 6-8 hours try to keep it 2-4. Further more: Stuff like that and I hope those #s help blaziken and Yuko. Along with those questions if you need to ask, ask me. Or PM Dark Mousy, Arupaeo, or Kei those are the three I talked to before I started hosting. But make sure you do in full conversations no one or two sentence messages and hit the REPLY but not PM but when doing a conversation back in forth so we can see past messages. RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Yuko Ray14 - Sep. 01, 2012 See this is what I like about u coach u always give a helping hand I owe u one RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Sep. 01, 2012 Anytime Yuko. I want to have more tournament hosts around here. because you can see right now if I'm not hosting everywhere every month the interest fades quickly. But I don't want you guys to get a tournament then have it fail in areas and be a bad experience so if you have questions ASK AWAY! It's more fun that way too when you're comfortable no matter what situation comes up. This also makes it a lot more fun for the bladers and keeps the popularity in the area up. The more popular it is the easier it will be for future tournaments. This is why I asked all of you to put a link to this thread on the bottom of your signature too. I'm having a little trouble with this next one though Madoka's Spirit did practice with us today so she might fill in next Friday. RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Coach - Sep. 04, 2012 My Tournament is official now, Here is the link to the thread: 9/7/12 Back2school Coach's Class: Blading 101 please click the link and comment in the thread if you're attending! Thanks RE: [Michigan, USA] Tournament Discussion - Blaziken - Sep. 06, 2012 Hello, blaziken again. I'm thinking of having a tournament in saint clair shores on October 13th. The best part is you get a suggestion of what prizes I should get. Also I might be hosting a side tournament afterward with great prizes |
