Quote:They share tips, boosters, cores and locks so in that way they are cross compatible. The difference is that Metal XS Weapons are full-metal. Series 2 are plastic Weapons with a weighted metal ring on the inside to increase momentum.
Awesome, but are the weapons in similar designs, so for example that starter set that was posted on the last page. Would there be a metal xs version of scarab and a plastic version? or would scarab only be in a plastic version, and metal xs contained different weapons?

I don't think it would be hard to convert a beylauncher for use with battle strikers, all you need is the right strength magnets and the right tools to file down the launchers teeth and attach the magnets. The biggest hurdle you'd have is finding a technique or altering the launcher to disengage the striker. Power may also be an issue.

I guess you could also convert your strikers to work with a stock beylauncher, however I can see that requiring a lot more work and a lot of deforming of your striker, so I wouldn't advise going that route.

The designs are entirely different, so Scarab is only in Series 2. We developed different tops for each series.

I don't necessarily disagree, I think both have their own applications -- though the quality on Tomy's recent Launchers is disappointing, I don't think the ripcord design itself is bad. However, it doesn't work in Battle Strikers. You need to keep your second hand ready to control immediately after Launching, and we didn't see the need to combine both physical engagements. We want the battle to revolve (lol) around control, so it was important we make sure all players are able to launch at full power every battle.

I've just been pondering this and I've noticed that the controller is very close in size to the beylauncher. I don't think it'd be hard to combine them, either having a launcher with a magnet on the end, or a finger-mounted or even palm-mounted beylauncher. I couldn't see either design being useful from a marketing or wider release perspective, but for someone who prefers the beylauncher this layout might be worth looking at. Then again I guess a beylauncher could still be gripped properly while one was wearing a controller.
Will the metal XS "spirits" look better so kids will like them more? I am only 12 and got a younger brother and he likes "cool" looking things.

"Better" than what, exactly? We never had spirits before.

I really like the look of them, though.
I agree they add something extra

IMO the Metal XS Strikers are better looking than MFB.
They sound good, I wait with baited breath.
i thought of a way to increace the spin time, speed:
put a cupple of ball berrings in the outwerd corners
thers no space in the current locks or tips to do that lol
I just wanted to say thank you to Bey Brad for everything he's done here. I've never seen a community liason (which I get the feeling isn't necessarily your primary job) keep the fans so well updated. Thanks for all your hard work here, I'm eagerly awaiting January!

Flame Libra? Flame Sagittario?
Earth Aquila? Earth Virgo?
Storm Capricorne? Storm Pegasis? Stardust Pegasis?
Dark Wolf? Dark Cancer?

At least we don't re-use our Weapons (Wheels) and try to pass them off as new releases.
Here's a teaser:
