Blah to office jobs. Trust me, I worked for my mom doing her real-estate stuff like sorting envelopes and finding specific listing notes, and it was BORING. Mondo borin'. I fell asleep a few times and didn't get paid one day because of it.
Hah, I was paid quite well for working in an office. Very professional atmosphere though, dealt with super annuation and other funds/investments/annuities.

Back to university now for me starting tomorrow though.
I just graduated highschool last month. I'll be taking a victory lap to get a co-op placement at a television studio, or something. As my goal is to eventually enroll in broadcasting, and film courses in Universities.

Should that fail, I guess I could enroll in history courses, but that means my future job would likely be a teacher ...
I've been in holidays the past 2 weeks, but I've been busy every day going out to places with friends. Which is good but gets really exhausting. I have school tomorrow, first day back. I'm looking forward to it for some reason. Hoping things will get a little bit easier, and just started to have a bit more time for Beyblade again Smile.

That's just whats happened in the past 2 weeks Smile.
I work night fill at a supermarket. Might not for long, as last night I had a confrontation with the resident bullying old hag/banshee of our department and she's complaining to the boss, but someone had to stand up to her, and hey, "it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees".

Other than that, taking a break from uni to deal with my inability to actually complete assignments and such, until I finally get to see a Psychiatrist about it :\

And I'm still recovering from glandular fever, so I can't really do much in terms of going out. Ugh.

Finance is great to work in. If you get into certain companies, it can be a lot of crazy fun. Since finance work is so serious and numbers-based, some big companies invest in making sure that the work environment is enjoyable everyday.
Ugh, call from the boss today, "we need to have a chat". Meeting tomorrow at 2... Confused
Oh, that sucks. Hopefully "We need to have a chat" means he needs a friend or something, not what it's become to mean in a workplace. Maybe a promotion?
Boss is a she Tongue_out
And no, see my previous comment, it's about that. I'm hoping I can manage to get off with a stern talking to, but seeing as I'm in this department because I had a dispute with my boss in the previous one (though it was completely taken out of context), I suspect at the very least I'm in for a department switch, if not being fired. :\

Still, as I said, it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees.
Well, my day royally sucked. I find it hilarious that Chicago has an "extra" 500 cops in the 55th street neighborhood to prevent "Apple Picking", or iPhone theft, and my mother manages to get hers taken anyway. To make things worse, me nor my brother could catch up to the guy (So ashamed to be the same race as the guy right now. Geez, when will this generation's black people figure out that going to jail or being a "G" isn't cool?), and some 40+year-old guy says "I don't wanna get involved" when asked for help. And that's not even what blew me the most. Some lady walks by, phone in hand, and my brother asks "Can I use your phone, to call the cops?" Guess what she says? She, without putting away the phone says... "Sorry, I don't have my phone on me right now." Really? REALLY? I'm SO moving to Canada ASAP. It was a wake-up call. I move slow compared to other black teens.

Yeah, my workplace had an open design which was really modern looking. Repetitive menial work, but a lot of things to distract the eye hah.

The world, in general, is in a pathetic state these days. I'm sorry to hear your mom's phone was stolen, and especially angry that those other people were such jerks about it. Are the police (particularly the "extra" cops) doing anything about the theft?
Nope, they were nowhere to be seen. Chicago, the world's worst place to be when you need the police. Again, I find it sad how people are so stuck on "No Snitching, No getting involved" these days. I'm only 14, and I'm disgusted with my own generation.
That's ridiculous. I've heard of it happening myself, even in Australia, and it IS disgusting. If I were there, you'd have had some help, though I'm not much. It's a real shame, I can't describe how sorry I feel for you, man.

I guess I can understand her not lending you a phone to call the cops, but couldn't she have called them? Ugh.

That said, if you report it, cops should actually be able to track a phone if the thief is dumb enough to make a call. But then, I've heard bad things about cops in the USA, so yeah.

On a more positive note: I totally still have my job, boss was more concerned about the safety hazards than anything, so yeah. YAY!
Great for you, Th!nk! Today wasn't so bad, considering the circumstances. Camp was pretty fun, but the walk home? It's 100 degrees in Chicago , which rarely happens. Even worse, it's supposed to hit 105 tomorrow! I managed to avoid any trouble, but someone on my block did get shot last night, so I'm not goin' anywhere besides camp and home until Saturday.
Well atm i'm looking for a job which has had no luck at all in three weeks even though I applied to 3 places with Vacancies. God i'm beginning to feel like my A levels mean nothing if they can't get me a job. Oh well the job hunt continues tomorrow. All this while i'm in a state of limbo due to my results not coming in till the 18th August which until they do I can't really decide what course i'm gonna do next year. God this is carp.
Well, currently I'm on summer vacation, going into 7th grade. From what I've heard from friends, the classes I'll have will either be hard or have strict teachers. Tongue_out Not much to look forward to. At the moment, I'm contemplating over what to get for tournament prizes.
Ugh, going into high school this year. Ah, the joys of being freshmanmeat. Seniors chanting at you to go home, people smashing your stuff.

I can't wait.
I am in middle school(in australia it's high school) In grade 7 and I can't wait till camp. I am only hiding from one teacher, Mrs Smith. Other than that, nothing

That doesn't really happen. Only on TV. (Unless you run into some total jerks. Other seniors take care of them, don't worry.) Simply avoid situations where you can get into some trouble. I've seen a bunch of good kids get into some huge trouble trying to be big, or simply going through a "rite of passage" that happens all the time. (i.e. experimenting with shoplifting, getting into fights, yelling at teachers, not checking their temper because they're "grown". I wish I had five dollars for every time I've seen it. I'd have about 50 bucks.)

Some of the cops here are good some of them suck. I am sure most of you know the seattle cop that shot the wood carver and another that beat up a drunk guy while curbstomping and yelling racial slurs at him. I have met some good cops but now I don't trust them like I used to.

On the other hand if someone has illegal things on them or is wanted that could be a reason they don't want anything to do with the police. That really seems to be the most logical explanation to me.

Do you mean your grades? It seems to me that the economy is the biggest role in getting a job or not. A year or so ago I aced an on the spot job interveiw and got hired wearing a skull Tshirt, and stating I had a B- average in my classes. It was at a nice sushi resturant too. I find when getting jobs if I just act like my normal self, be friendly and listen I tend to do way better. If your school does mock inteveiws then that is a great opportunity to get a step ahead.

Sometimes people can be rude but for the most part they will leave you alone. The biggest thing you can do is ignore them and don't make yourself a target. If you don't give them satisfaction they will get bored and will move on. Another thing bullies fear is getting stood up to. You want to tell them to stop in the most basic way possible. If they ask why just tell them because you said so. Don't give them points to argue. If it still does not stop go to the teacher or whoever is in charge.
...It's still hot. You know that scene on Lucky Star where Konata is plopped face-up on a towelwith the fan full blast and the A/C on? That's been me for the past week. Twice Chicago hit 110 in the last two weeks, and the heat wave isn't supposed to end until Thursday. I miss that blizzard from February now...
Ugh, yesterday my YouTube account got hacked and I lost 13 of my 18 subscribers. Unhappy I'm pretty sure that it was my friend, since he's recently been trash-talking my videos. But what makes me wonder is how the person hacked me, since I was the only person who knew my password. Confused Luckily, I've gotten 2 subscribers back, so yay. Smile
I wouldn't call someone that hacks an account of mine a friend.
I wouldn't call them anything. I'd just rock up to their house with a crowbar.

Serious
