Originally I took up design in college, and drifted in and out of the design/graphics industry over a period of years. The job market for designers in Sydney isn't as strong as in other parts of the world, so I mostly got freelance and casual work. While the pay rate was good, it wasn't regular enough to pay the bills, so I eventually wound up working in finance. It's not a creative industry, but I wound up enjoying it here. My best friend and I (we've been best friends for 13 years) recently fell in love with each other, and we're saving up to get married. To help out with the wedding savings, I'll be selling most of my Beyblades in a few weeks. My main hobby is photography; after the wedding, my next goal is to save up to have my own photography studio.

Hrm.. It might be coincidence (due to your online alias "Ronin Fox"), but do you happen to be the "Ronin Fox" from Off the Chain a few years back? I also remember an emblem from the MGS series and a keen liking for the game series, aha.

Graduated high school in June. Starting college this August. I'm actually kind of nervous.

Yep, that's me. XD I still enjoy the MGS series, but haven't kept up with the latest additions because I don't have a PS3 or a PSP. The last MGS game I played was MGS3: Snake Eater. What was your username at Off the Chain, if I may ask?
Just finished 5th grade and goin' to 6th!!! My 5th grade teacher is very nice, but a lot of the 6th graders that are going into 7th hates the 6th grade teacher... AND EVERYONE IS SCARED FOR THEIR LIVES!!!!!!!!(especially me) but anyway, this summer I need to do book reports on The Secret Garden and Narnia. Narnia was super easy to read and I already know the story since I watched the movie and they both have the same story and no removals of detail from the original, but The Secret Garden I'm not liking since the main character isn't the best person you have to get to know, but this August I'm gonna be at Disney World for a week, then going back to school 4 days later. Disney World is probably the only thing I'm looking forward to.

I was Blade Hikaru/Meteor Blue, but I joined OtC late; it was only a few months before it got shut down (or whatever it was- it's been so long it has escaped my memory). (my first MGS game was actually Peace Walker, which is essentially the backstory of Naked Snake and the story after he killed The Boss, aha)
elementary school,going to 7th grade.

Read "Brave New World" or "The Hunger Games", then talk about unlikable characters. Anyway, people who hate their teachers simply were too lazy to do their work, and blamed their bad grades on said teacher. Ignore them, and have some fun next year. At least you're not staring down the bane of all GPAs...CHEMISTRY AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES! (I flunked out of Spanish in the 4th grade. Not happy about taking it again, six years later...)

I think you're right about the lazy people since only 2 people got straight A's and 1/2 of the glass got C's, D's, and F's at the award ceremony(my school goes from K-8). My school is also thinking about putting Spanish class in for everyone to learn. I was really hoping they would put other different languages like Japanese or French because those 2 are the ones I really want to learn.
No middle school is going to do Japanese. French, however, I can understand. (I don't wanna take Spanish next year!)
Graduated 8th grade, onward to High school! Well yeah, I'm going to be leaving almost all my friends behind in pursuit of my dream, but we still have contact. I'll hopefully be going to the high school of my dreams, if I get accepted.
Uh-oh. You got a backup plan for if you don't? Not having one is always a bad idea.
Yep. I'll go the high school my sister goes to, transfer second year. That's the last year you can transfer to that school, since there is a 3-year majoring program that you have to complete. It's not that they might not want me, but they might not have enough space since I changed my mind kinda late. Confused
I am in middle school and am going into 6th grade. When I go into 6th grade, it will be the last year I will go to that middle school. All of my grade's students are going to transfer to a different middle school that used to be a secondary school. Weird, huh? And now 4th grade will be in middle school and 3 grade is going to be the last year in elementry. So confusing.
i finally graduated, when i was in ma school i hated it but took so many years for me to realize how much it was importent to me, i find it real sad that now all my friends are going to diff schools losing old teachers that actually gave a carp about u. and now im afriad of highschool, people make it seem like such a horrible place,...although i also hear that there will be lotz a pretty girls Tongue_out_wink lol jks

Screw your school system, then. Since when is 4th grade middle school? It's just to make the kids and parents feel good about saying "My kid's going to a good middle school!" and the kid's 8... (Hah, coming from someone who was 10 upon starting 6th grade...) Or "My child is graduating from elementary school, and he's only 7! Isn't he just a genius!?" to feel proud of themselves, and as a result, shove kids through school without learning much. (As if that's not already happening.) Rant Over!

On another ranty note: I find it hilarious that I'm the only person who actually met the requirements on a speech for Black History Month this year. The minimum length was two minutes, and mine was three. Everyone else's was thirty seconds. And essays had words like "important" or "significant" spelled WAY wrong, and text-speak like LOL or even a few WTF?s popping up. It's so sad, how pathetic the US school system is... You'd figure 9th graders could spell "ignorant", not "ignirent"... (Rant #2...Over until I see another essay from my classmates.)
I'm currently about to go into my senior year of high school. It's funny that certain students at my newer school are surprised I'm 18. Mainly because of my height compared to a lot of them. Giants, giants everywhere. Not that I'm a dwarf or anything, I'm actually very close to average height. A lot of people are a bit taller than me nowadays, though. After I graduate high school, my mom and I have been considering our family moving to Massachusetts or Connecticut, so I can get into Graphic design at an art college in that area. I just hope once the big move comes, everything goes smoothy.
I'm homeschooled (more like an online school) and i'm going into high school this coming school year. I'm thinking about going to a real high school when i'm a junior or senior. At the moment I want to study to become a veterinarian for big cats. So when i'm fourteen or fifteen i'm gonna volunteer at my local zoos and get some work experience for my resume later on haha.
Im in Middle,Whats going on in my life??? LOTS OF THINGS. Ex. a person i like already has a bf and she likes me too. Unhappy Im Day dreamming every day of her. <3

Well, the good thing about today's technology is that it makes it easier to keep in touch with friends. You can have your cake and eat it too: keep contact and hopefully hang out regularly with your old friends, while making new friends in high school.

I know, but at least we still have next year normal. Well, my sister is going to be the last 4th grader in our elementary school. I dont know how anyone else will react to the change. Its like a new kid who is a fourth grader is like "Im going to elementary school" and on the first day of school thier like "You have to go to middle school." and the kid will be like "Wat?"
Oh yah, I almost forgot, I also have granted myselt a nice girl friend. Joyful_3 "Yah!"
Not in sixth grade, you didn't. It's a STATUS SYMBOL! But alas, that's a post for the thread made for those specific conversations. Hah, I feel so sorry for those kids down the line when they realize that they're just like any other kid, not some type of super-genius for getting into a "middle" school at 4th grade.

You're looking into architecture? If so, awesome! Tongue_out
thx, are you interesting in the engineering and architechture field as well?
Being a college kid. So just doing classes, and hanging out with friends. Once I get my general ed down then I go to welding classes. I am really exited to learn to weld because that has been my dream since high school. I love building and working with my hands. My parents would prefer I get an office job but I know that if I have to do something for the rest of my life ) or at least a long period of time I should like it. My grandad and uncle were machinists and my dad worked at boeing building planes so I think that learning a trade kinda runs in the family.
