I found this on ebay a few weeks ago. I dont remember these blades being very rare. Does anyone know why this went for so much money?

Well, not so much plural but that's still not excellant condition, imo. Although in the end I guess it comes down to how battered the actual blade is.

I've seen some shocking prices on ebayUK for beyblades in the past months. A used Draciel F going for £40 and a used Trypio for £20. There are quite a lot of bidders on ebayUK compared to Ebay.com, maybe it's due to the rarity?

I think you're right, pretty much the only way to get blades now is overseas, which costs alot for shipping or is generally alot of hassle (don't get me started XD), so people usually pay higher prices for the UK carp instead
