Potentially Useful New Customs - Roan - May. 12, 2008 Ok, since the launch of the new series of blades is right around the corner, I figured it would be fun to start discussing the possible new customization options and what people think will be useful combos right out of the gate. It will be interesting to see if our predictions hold true. Personally, I think Pegasus uncustomized is seriously going to destroy some things, but I don't think its AR is suited much to being combined with any of the other announced parts. I'm also not seeing much use for the Pegasus AR in right spin, which leads me to believe that like Dragoon before it, Pegasus will be the only blade to come with a Left Spin gear. Its Tip, however, could be really deadly when combined with Bull's AR because it looks to me like Bull's AR has some great potential for upper attack. It would likely benefit from being on a low to the ground Base though to make full use of the upper attack. I don't really know enough about the Tips of either Chiron or Leo to say anything about them, but their AR's both look to be very defensive, with Leo's going for a sort of Grinding concept. Maybe with its round shape and metal nubs it could be useful for grinding endurance combos? Chiron's AR really reminds me of Dranzer V2's, just without the upper attack. That sort of disappoints me because the upper attack on DZV2 was what made that AR so awesome. Chiron's AR looks more likely to be used as a defensive/survival combination. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. So, what do you guys predict will be useful and/or useless? RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Kei - May. 12, 2008 I definitely agree with your comments on the Pegasus tip + Bull Attack R-I mean Wheel. Bulls Wheel (man it is weird saying that) really reminds me of Circle Upper in some ways. The Wheel we don't know the name of yet from the RB is similar to Upper Dragoon or Triangle Wing, and should be useful for Upper Attack. Not sure if it will be as effective as it's plastic counterparts though. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - FFX - May. 12, 2008 For some reason I keep on seeing Pegasus being used as a Force Smash bey. I think right spin for it will be surprisingly effective for force smash. With a metal tip and a moderately high track. For Bull, is it just me or is the left spin upper attack more drastic and less of a smooth curve than the right spin? I'm not sure if we could achieve a proper shock since I don't remember if any attack part of the bey ever had such a drastic steep curve on its wheel/ar. edit: haha i really want to see how wrong I am later on. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 12, 2008 I have a feeling that pegasus may actually be the best blade out for a while until more blades come around..in any spin direction, the blade is damn sure lethal and it is my first blade im getting from this series...i think that the whole bull-pegasus combo will definitely be a great combo until more blades come in but im looking towards makin somthin original such as the base on the random booster prize and pegasus ring..also considering using pegasus-wolf combo..but i would just go with pegasus uncustomized if i had to RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Roan - May. 12, 2008 Bluezee Wrote:I have a feeling that pegasus may actually be the best blade out for a while until more blades come around.. I agree, actually. Who knows, maybe the other blades will surprise us on release (I'm really looking forward to using Bull, it looks carp awesome) but based on sheer visual impressions, I don't really think anything is going to stack up against Pegasus. I think it'll be interesting to try these MFBs against some of the later HMS blades. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Elmo - May. 12, 2008 Pegasus does look pretty decent. It's small and looks lighter than the other beys, and the smash looks pretty krazeeee. I have my eyes set out for Bull, however. me lieks uppur. Also, the little ring-thingys seem as if it'd make the AR(wheel, whatever) pack a bit of smash/spike as well. Leo looks way too big to be able to do much damage, it seems like it'd only spin for a short amount of time. Wolf looks way too tall, and cool-looking AR's usually suck. I haven't seen any of the bottoms :\ RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - FFX - May. 13, 2008 I doubt that the ring will do anything for Bull, however, it could totally ruin Bull's usefulness. It doesn't seem to jut out enough though. Leo IMO should be the heaviest, and could be used for wobbling if this turns out to be true. It's wobbling potential seems to be great if the circle track is heavy and basically blunting downwards. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - LeoBlader - May. 18, 2008 i think that wolf uncostumized would be good RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Nic - May. 18, 2008 I would be very much amused if it turns out that Pegasus's AR just doesn't work out. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 18, 2008 The odds of pegasus AR being useless is VERY low (according to the pics)...it's smash is one of the best i have seen and it could be the basic and one of the most essential parts to have when it comes to customizing the new blades..it may even live up to DEMS status if its performance tops almost all of the earlier plastic gen- hms blades...i think it would be a good idea to get multiples of these blades honestly RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Roan - May. 18, 2008 Bluezee Wrote:it may even live up to DEMS status if its performance tops almost all of the earlier plastic gen- hms blades... I doubt this very much. You know, a lot of people were excited for Slash Riger's parts when it was announced. See how that turned out. I don't think Pegasus is going to be useless, that's for damn sure, I'm just concerned about the durability of the attack ring. (I refuse to call it a wheel, I'm sorry.) RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 18, 2008 hmm..now that i think of it and looked closer at the pics i have, i think its safe to say that you could very well be right...durabiltiy could be a major factor in this blade considering how it has so many parts that stick out..but there may be a differnce in pegasus rings...such as the recolor, it may have more support and durability making it superior to ther first...in a lot of cases, the makers also did this with some hms blade like phantom fox and even some DEMS in cases i have seen...i think that if changes are made, considering that pegasus may be weak in durability, the destructive force can be maintained and the issue can be fixed... RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - KoD PT - May. 18, 2008 Well, when I first saw the Pegasus AR, besides thinking it's pretty cool looking and aggressive, I also thought it was kind of a mess and might be trying to do too much at the same time, which could end up not working so well. It's really one of those parts you have to test to be able to tell if it's any good or not... I'm hopping at least its smash attack potential will be good. I didn't consider this, but I really see what you're getting at here. At the same time, it could also work really well. Upper Attack works by lifting the Beyblade from the stadium, thereby reducing the Beyblade's grip on the stadium to nothing. If you can Upper and then Smash, there is literally nothing holding the Beyblade in the stadium and it's almost a guaranteed KO. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 19, 2008 I just know that all i really want to begin with is pegasus to test this blade bcuz it looks really strong and i think everything on that blade will have a good purpose( unlike some previous blades in earlier series such as knight dranzer, master driger, bound attacker, etc. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bey Brad - May. 19, 2008 I'll be getting everything on release day. And everything will be useful for about two months, after which they will all be replaced by better Beyblades (see: Driger MS, Draciel MS, Gaia Dragoon MS, Wybern DJ, etc.) RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 19, 2008 Seeing as how these blades are full metal, i think many plastics will become obselete RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bey Brad - May. 19, 2008 Bluezee Wrote:Seeing as how these blades are full metal, i think many plastics will become obselete Compared to HMS, plastic is already obsolete. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 19, 2008 Yeah you could be right...do u think the hms will be able to stand against these new models? RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bey Brad - May. 19, 2008 I'm curious to see that actually. I get the feeling they will not outclass HMS the way HMS outclassed plastics. Honestly, I would've preferred the continued HMS other than starting a new line ... this line seems technologically inferior to HMS. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Roan - May. 19, 2008 Bey Brad Wrote:Honestly, I would've preferred the continued HMS other than starting a new line ... this line seems technologically inferior to HMS. I feel the exact same way. MFB feels like a huge step backwards compared to HMS. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bey Brad - May. 19, 2008 I sincerely hope they are not as shoddy as they look. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 19, 2008 I think this is just a minor misunderstanding right now..i really have a feeling that the more blades that come out, even greater technology will be used RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bey Brad - May. 19, 2008 I'm hoping that's the case as well. When you look at Draciel MS, Gaia Dragoon MS etc; they were all pretty garbage. RE: Potentially Useful New Customs - Bluezee - May. 19, 2008 My point exactly, as the series went on, the blades got better and now we have great blades like DEMS, WBMS, DGMSUV, etc...things always change..this is just an appetizer to the full course |
