Worst Dub Rename For A Bey In Burst? - PinkRose - Nov. 27, 2020
As we all know, the English Dub changes the names of Beys more often than not. Some of these are ok (Like uhh..Roktavor I guess?), some are actually kinda good (I took an instant liking for Vex Lucius for some reason, but it doesn't beat Variant Lucifer), and some are flat out bad.
For me, Quill Quetziko takes the cake, because the name is just that dumb.
What Bey do you think got the worst rename in all of Beyblade Burst?

A lot of the renames are bad. They all seem dorky and lack of the epicness of the original, having tried too hard to mimic the original names. Im not really sure why they have to rename the Beys outside supposed copyright reasons, given that the Beys are named after mythological beings and those fall under public domain

I personally agree. It's not like a 6 year old is gonna care about the mythology behind a spin top. The only rename that really makes sense to me is Hell Salamander to Heat Salamander and that is because "Hell" is a no-no word to some people.

They have to change stuff like Hell or other bad characters in the Bible like Longinus not because the children care, but because the parents might get big mad over it.

Especially Satan and Lucifer. I think Hasbro’s avoiding the religious world (hence why Ashura was changed)

Usually the first names(especially gt). Ik some(like grand) had to be changed, but heres a list of better names:
Ashura-Ajax(tbh, fits perfectly with ashura's 12 bladed defense gimmick and all)
Heaven- Height
Grand- Great/Giant
Dread- Doom
Big Bang- Creation/Explosion
Heat was the best possible, not matter how trash the name.
Killer- Kingly(heck kurt cobain is better than krusher lol)

It was changed to engaard because Egis is “a shield or breastplate emblematic of majesty that was associated with Zeus and Athena” (Merriam-Webster), so it was to avoid this religious stuff. It does actually make sense why it was called Egis now that I look at this.

Height : heaven is usually portrayed as a high place up in the clouds in Renaissance paintings and writings. the creation of adam is one of the most famous paintings(and memes) and even it shows this concept.
Giant: I would have used Giga, but thats taken. Great was my other option, and that just sounds trash.
Creation/Explosion: I admit, Destruction would have been a better name. It not only relates to Big Bang and how that was a massive explosion that made the universe, and that set of a chain reaction that is still in motion today, both creating and destroying its own offspring. also big bang genesis is an antagonist so smth that had to do with breaking stuff is good. Yin Yang(for how the big bang shattered peace, and through that, brought it) and Awaken(big bang is kinda like the universe awakening) are also options.
Kingly: idk, Knave works too. anything but a name breaker like kolossal(which actually isnt that bad, but krusher is disgusting)
