Union Achilles "Glitch" - AwakenedGenesis - Oct. 10, 2020

I'm having a problem with my Union Achilles. 90% of the time when I battle with it, no matter what mode it's in, the Union Sword, weight, and chip go flying off after taking a big attack. The same thing happens sometimes when the Union Sword isn't on. I have two Union Achilles, with their stock combo's, and the problem exists on both.

Did I break them? Is there a way to fix it? Please let me know.

P.S. I don't know if this was the right section to put this thread in.

Did you lock the chip in all the way? Could you provide a video of this?

Try tightening the screws around the tabs of the underside of the base. (Also you put this in the right section)

I don't hear any click sound when I put the chip in, and it smoothly fits in. I'll try to get a video of it happening.

okay that’s really weird I mean I’m no expert see if you can tighten it as hard as you can or listen to what other people say because it may not be that easy.

I tried tightening the screws, but that didn't work.

If possible, could we get some close-up pictures of the Union Layer and Achilles chip? Top and bottom would be best!

Same thing happened to me and it turns out I didn’t lock the chip in the layer. Try doing that. My Achilles got fixed as soon as I did it.

One last question: Is this a Hasbro Union Achilles?

Its not Hasbro because it has a weight.

RE: Union Achilles "Glitch" - AwakenedGenesis - Oct. 10, 2020

It's the stock combo for Takara Tomy Union Achilles.

I think I know the issue. Unless you replaced the tri-wing screws with Phillip's head screws, It's a fake.

Well I have two stock combo Union Achilles and they both have the same problem. Could they both be fake?

Depends. How much did it cost, and does the box have a Takara Tomy logo on it?

The best way for us to tell would be to take photos of the top/bottom of each part from both beys. If you still have the boxes that they came in, thoroughly checking them for the TT logo would be ideal.

I'd also like to mention that, from what I've noticed when using them, the design of GT beys makes it so that you can't fit a driver onto a layer if the chip locks (the two sliding plastic pieces) aren't in place. If they're in the unlocked position (like when adding a chip or removing it) they prevent the bey from being assembled.

I'd need someone else to confirm, but I'm at least 95% sure these are fake. I don't have a Union Achilles to compare to, but going by what we know about fakes...

The GT Chip: There's not really a way to determine if a chip is fake or not as far as I know, apart from knowing if it came from a fake bey.
The Layer Weight: From the photos, they look plastic. Also, they don't have any stars stamped into the bottom, and one of them is the wrong weight (Sen instead of Retsu).
The GT Layer: Has Phillip's head screws instead of the Tri-wing screws that TT uses.
The Disk: Doesn't have Cn printed on the disk prongs. Also doesn't have any stars stamped on the bottom.
The Driver: Has Phillip's head screws instead of the (rivets?) that TT uses.

I'd like to note, Fake beys can be used in free-play at home, but are not allowed at WBO tournaments. Also, because they are not regulated by TT, there is a chance they may contain lead. Other users know more about the safety aspect of fakes than I do, so I'd leave that explanation to them.

Yes, unfortunately, your union achilles is fake. Usually you can tell by the screws. TT only uses tri wing screws, so if the screws are phillips or flat head, it is fake.
