What's the difference between Takara Tomy beys and Hashbro beys? - Malikai - Apr. 18, 2020

Is there a difference? Is one brand better than the other?

Yes. Typically Takara Tomy ones are better. Some differences are the use of slopes(Hasbro) and teeth (TT). Also, Hasbro doesn’t put metal on the layers, which sets them back a lot.

Hasbro also changes the disc and driver to match their stadium gimmicks

And the TT has metal, and are more anime accurate. Also better. Overall TT wins in every aspect, only downside is that they are more expensive than hasbro. But if you are down in money, I’d reccomend buying hasbro(no fakes, never that.) but I’d say every blader should Atlesst chip in a few more bucks for atleast 1 or 2 TT blades in their time as a blader if they typically buy hasbro. And it isn’t beyblades, but the stadiums and launcher quality are also better than hasbro.
I’d rank TT as The best of the best, and hasbro Mid C Tier.

TT does not add metal to their layers with the exception of H3, L3, L2, X4 and S3 but thats about it, and the Hasbro beys have slopes, which from past experience wears down quicker than Takara Tomy teeth

This.  I've griped a few times that Hasbro licenses, then drops or changes Takara Tomy's original, inventive, unique, but probably costly bey level gimmicks while changing up the stadiums and core gameplay aspects instead.  The novelty of new stadiums doesn't outweigh that most Hasbro parts don't remain relevant across an overall format.  You need to buy their new beys and drivers for their new stadiums if you wish to create competitive builds for their newest thing, or just not care about true competition.

Conversely, TT balances all the bey gimmicks and parts they introduce across Burst as a whole, so on a bey level, while some releases use unique/incompatible parts, their beys are still playable together in a core format and stadium.  The net result over the years is exponentially more potential for considering build possibilities, which since I've picked up this game playing with my sons, has been the part we enjoy the most.  "Hey Dad, check THIS build out!".

And yes, the build quality and weight differences makes for - generally speaking - more exciting battles with TT.  I always add though, that Hasbro licensing TT can only help drive TT onto greater things, so I still buy some Hasbro beys that compete within the TT environment as a kind of an add-on booster.

Hard to say about the slopes, at least for a while TT teeth had wear issues, Hasbro slopes wear but not that much unless you use stuff a lot.

As someone who uses only hasbro, I can say that now TT is better than hasbro, but they are very different now. Hasbro is more casual with a bigger emphasis on gimmicky stadiums with wacky battles whereas TT is more focused on giving a higher quality and competitive experience with heavier beys, more moving parts and gimmicks, and higher performance. So I do have to give the crown to TT now, but tbh, when it comes to other formats like Classic and limited, Hasbro may very well have the upper hand. Consider the fact that even with evolution being the last good Hasbro series, it's gave use B3 and Br which are still competitive parts in today's meta. And there are gems like Ab-S, tS4, and Bl 1-H. Personally, I think Hasbro has better parts in limited and has access to a lot (and I do mean a lot) of parts that TT doesn't with most of the turbo line being allowed in limited and the Hasbro exclusive(and hopefully turbo exclusive) layers being complete game changers. Overall, TT does reign supreme in standard and with the beys now, but Hasbro is still really good in every other format.
