Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 06, 2019 Hello everyone! This all came about real fast but we were able to pull something totally different together on Aug 17 2019 . I really hope to meet some of you out there. If you have any questions please hit me up. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 06, 2019 Your flier doesn't seem to include a date, but I googled it: It looks like August 17th at a Library in Delaware. It's about 2 hours away from me, and I'll have to leave way early to get there... but I can't say no to those prizes. I mean... dang. I'm going for it. I hope your local Delaware tournament attendees are prepared, because I'm going to try my best and we'll all have some fun matches. I probably won't be the only one. This will certainly get attention. Will you be using your own ruleset or WBO rules? And, Swiss or Single/Double elimination? Is a Dover Comic Con 2019 attendance fee also required? Also, while the entry fee is larger than most WBO events, it DOES come with a random booster 15 or 16 and probably helps cover venue cost. I have no complaints about that. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 06, 2019 Yeah this was something new I’m trying. Instead of just selling Beyblade’s, I’m going to incorporate tournaments. It's gonna be Open Format. Bring your best Bey, use the new random booster, whatever you have to do to get to the top. As far as how the raffles work, sometime during the tournament, i'll call off raffle numbers for those to come up and have a chance to battle or even battle again for additional prizes, large and small. All pretty cool though. (Aug. 06, 2019 5:18 AM)DeceasedCrab Wrote: Your flier doesn't seem to include a date, but I googled it: It looks like August 17th at a Library in Delaware. Took care of that date. Good lookin out (Aug. 06, 2019 5:18 AM)DeceasedCrab Wrote: Your flier doesn't seem to include a date, but I googled it: It looks like August 17th at a Library in Delaware. Finally for now, it will be Single elimination due to the time constraint. This way we'll be able to do more battles for more prizes, again by way of raffle. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - 4DFury - Aug. 06, 2019 It blows that this is the same weekend as the Pokémon world championship... If all goes well, I'll be putting this together more often. Is there anyone with a YouTube channel that could help promote this event? RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 06, 2019 Single elimination! Darn. That's... ooooh, that's rough. I'm not sure who's going to want to stick around for a raffle battle after getting eliminated. I'm not.... I'm not certain I should really attend now. I'm good at Beyblade, but if I'm driving 2 hours to an event, and I get eliminated in round 1, that would be totally demoralizing. Personally, I'm more of a fan of Swiss format (or round-robin if there are few enough people). The idea of double elimination concerns me as is, mostly because a quarter of your remaining participants get eliminated every round starting after 2. But single elimination cuts down on the participants by half every round. If everyone was local, and since they're all getting a booster at least, that's okay, but can still be demoralizing to younger bladers. But when you have to travel 2 hours to get there, and could get eliminated in round 1... that might not be feasible. I mean, at least there's Dover Comic Con 2019 to attend afterward, but... I'm not sure. Registration begins on-site at 10... when is the actual tournament supposed to begin? And when does it all have to be wrapped up by? How many attendees have been to the other local tournaments you've been running? Also! You've marked the format as "Open". Does that mean any Beyblade products are permitted for entry, including MFBs and Plastics, or just Burst? MFB's have a definite advantage over Burst beys. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 06, 2019 Actual start time is being readjusted. We are set up right near the cosplay contest. So that being said, I'm readjusting the schedule so that any other kids participating in the cosplay on test don't loose out for feel they have to make a decision one or the other. I'll keep you posted. As far as the other attendees, I'm not sure this is a comic Con and there'ssupposed to be 10K people there this year. We'll see who pops up. Dover Comic-Con gets wrapped up at 5pm. so depending on how fast we can get registration done I'm hoping we can get a solid 5 hours of tournament time. Open Format: Just Burst RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 06, 2019 I guess I'll attend. What are the basic rules? Do they mirror what WBO uses for Burst Standard? How much are outspins/knockouts/bursts worth? Is it first to 3 points? How many beys are selected? How are the finals different? Please show us the rules. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 06, 2019 -First the three -out spin worth one point -knockout worth one point -burst worth 2 points RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - MrBlade - Aug. 06, 2019 Dang this seems amazing, some good prizes and more amazing: All Contestants receive a Random Booster. I'm not gonna be able to go though likely, I'm leaving for a trip the next day RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 08, 2019 Hey everyone I just wanted to give a shout out to an eBay store/seller: 3.style. They are an official sponsor of the tournament. He's provided a lot of the prizes. A lot that I haven't even mention. Thanks to him I'm going to be adding a couple of more incredible prizes. So if you haven't checked out his story yet definitely do so. They sell a lot of remodel pieces. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=3.style&isRefine=true&_pgn=1 RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 08, 2019 3.style is basically my go-to seller for individual parts. Can confirm, is reliable. Surprised to see them sponsor a Delaware event, I thought they lived in Hong Kong. Well, that makes things even more interesting. Looking forward to this. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 08, 2019 Yeah they provided launchers to use for those who might need one in case malfunction or whatever. Plus got a handful of energy layers and he's sending a couple of extra b146 RB to throw in the mix. That's what's up! Along these lines, we'll have the option to accomplish more fights for more prizes, again by method for a wager restaurant games. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NewRocChampion1 - Aug. 08, 2019 So this is in delaw or ny? Great job! You know that one was close. Everybody was sweating all the way to the end. The Perfect Phoenix vs Flare Dragon And a great jobs to all the players that showed up today.. We had a first-time tournament player when the gold Cosmo Valkyrie ?. That was awesome! RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - DeceasedCrab - Aug. 18, 2019 There was a ton of Flare Dragon at this tournament! Or, well, 3. Probably because most of the players were playing with layers they'd gotten from the random boosters that came with their entry fee. Which... I have to admit it's a little distressing to see a very young blader wind up with a Quest tip. There's no good solution there. But anyway, Flare Dragon on Planet did Surprisingly Well. Easily one of the better stock combos. Also, we need to clarify that people are allowed to customize their beys; some of the participants didn't fully understand that until I explained it to them during the raffle battles. Oops. I wonder if Silas wound up with a Poison layer base? It was a lot of fun! I was very filthy afterwards, that field is a dust bowl. We all need to clean our beys with compressed air. Also, in the future we seriously need to avoid having a beyblade tournament right next to a costume contest, that was a little bit chaotic. I'm surprised no one else from WBO showed up; did they see the prizes? There... there were a lot of prizes. And unfortunately a couple of demoralized bladers after their second loss. At least 3 of em. I was worried about that, even in Double Elimination, and with raffle prizes later, there's just no good solution to someone getting "eliminated" from the main tournament. I did the best I could to encourage them, I really did. We had effectively 11 people. I'm thinking next time we just Group Round Robin it or Round Robin it. It's a lot of matches, but hey... it's a lot of Beyblade. Sounded like... some sort... of fun since there was so much prizes and stuff, If I could've came I would but I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow and Dover is like 2 hours from me so I was busy getting ready. RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - NoahRC51 - Aug. 18, 2019 It was definitely a blast! I ended up giving Isaac a survive in place of that quest tip. Although, I think he just loved the way it looked! ? I was asked to host more events so everyone please stay tuned. September 14 another event is being planned as we chat. Winner of the ChoZ Battle Stadium BT Gator RE: Dover Comic-Con '19 - Ardmore Bladers - Aug. 21, 2019 Congratulations DeceasedCrab! Great to see you topping a tournament! |
