Beyblade Burst Zero - Sir Saitama - Mar. 11, 2019 Beyblade Burst Zero Main Story: Spoiler (Click to View) District Tournament Arc: Chapters 1-13 Spoiler (Click to View) Chapter 1 - Spread Your Wings! Immortal Pegasus Flies! Spoiler (Click to View) “And Valt Aoi deals a devastating blow to his opponent! The Boy Wonder remains to be the World Champion!” The water-blue haired boy smiled childishly, waving at the crowd exploding with excitement. But suddenly, the lights faded out. Too dark to perceive it as dimmed, but too bright to be pitch black. “Err, what’s this?” Hanami said, fiddling with the microphone. “We apologise for the technological issue-“ The reporter was interrupted by the muffled sound of footsteps. Valt raised his hand above his forehead, scanning the room. “Hello? Anybody there?” he shouted. The same pitter patter noise grew louder, almost in a perfect tune. For a moment, everything fell silent. Until... “Let it rip!” The referee signalled Hanami a thumbs-up as the lights immediately reverted to its previous state. Valt fixed his eyes on this intruder, and so did everyone else. “Huh? What’s this? A mysterious blader has launched his Beyblade into the stadium!” The referee, stunned, confronted the boy. He looked no older than Valt, but no younger than Aiga. “Kid, you’re intruding. Please pick up your bey and move.” Valt shouted, “Wait!” Another confused “Huh?” spread throughout the crowd. “It’s fine. Your bey looks pretty neat. So, if it’s a battle you want, then you got it!” Valt beamed. The kid nodded, and picked up his bey, which was zooming across the stadium. “Meet Immortal Pegasus!” he said proudly. “Oh yeah, my name’s Paris Hagane.” Valt’s Cho-Z Valkyrie gleamed. “You’re excited to battle too, aren’t ‘ya? I’m not sure what’s up, but I feel like this will be a good battle.” The screen suddenly presented Immortal Pegasus. Toko and Nika, observing in the background, hovered over their tablet. “It’s an attack type,” the light-blue haired boy said. “That means it’s surely gonna pack a punch!” The referee called the first battle. The rising tension in the room had died down. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Valt used his famous Dash Shoot, as he twirled around, releasing the momentum into a perfect launch. The three red wings extended out from the layer. “He pulled it off!” Nika cheered. Immortal Pegasus and Cho-Z Valkyrie swirled around the outer rim of the stadium, chasing one another. “That Pegasus sure is fast!” Toko stared at the screen. “The driver, Omega, is made of a thick rubber! That helps it go really fast!” Valkyrie shot into the middle of the stadium, and looped several times. Paris widened his eyes, not expecting what was yet to come. “Super Valkyrie Flash Shoot!” Valt commanded. Valkyrie’s avatar, an armoured knight riding a sword, emerged from a strong blue aura. It slashed its sword, as Cho-Z Valkyrie warped through the stadium, heading for Pegasus. “Not so fast!” Paris declared. “Now, dodge him!” Immortal Pegasus rolled to the left, barely avoiding Valkyrie’s imminent attack. Valt seemed to become absorbed by the battle. Multiple trickles of sweat ran down his face, but he was persistent as ever. “That Paris really is something!” Nika exclaimed. “Nobody usually dodged Valkyrie’s attack!” The two beyblades torpedoed head-on in the middle of the stadium. A violent gust of wind expelled from the stadium, followed by a scorching episode of light. “Now’s our chance, Pegasus!” Paris roared, “Take him down!” It spun adjacent from the centre, and hurtled back into the centre, rapidly striking Valkyrie. “What an electrifying battle!” Hanami added, “Will Valt be able to hold his own against this newcomer?” Toko’s eyes fell silent on the tablet. “I hope so,” he said. A giant mushroom-cloud of smoke covered the battle, leaving everyone in suspense. Once uncovered, Valkyrie wobbled unstably as it was only a matter of seconds before Paris won with a Spin Finish. Pegasus climbed the stadium and swooped back down, glinting under the sunlight. Just as Paris was about to declare his move, Valt with a thundering voice, boomed, “Full power! Super Valkyrie Slash!” The newcomer gasped as the crowd cheered. One of Cho-Z Valkyrie’s wings became a saber of light, before it hacked away at Immortal Pegasus, flinging it into the air. Just then, Cho-Z Valkyrie had been drained of stamina. At the same time, Pegasus burst and littered the stadium with its three parts. The screen changed from a 0 to a 2. The referee, pulling his hand, pointed to Valt Aoi. “Two points to Cho-Z Valkyrie for a Burst Finish! Valt Aoi wins with the score of 2-0!” The crowd erupted and cheered, as Toko and Nika exchanged looks before exploding with excitement. “He won! He won!” they chanted. Paris silently re-assembled his Pegasus. “That was fun,” he said, before pointing to the champion. “But next time we battle, I’m going to win!” Valt giggled. “Alright then, I look forward to it!” Before the newcomer was about to exit, Valt yelled, “Wait!” Paris turned around. “Hm?” “For some reason,” his eyes fell onto Cho-Z Valkyrie, “I feel like you’re gonna be a powerful blader some day. There’s someone I’d like you to meet. Know Aiga Akaba by any chance?” Chapter 2 - Fight Together! Immortal Starblast Attack! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris makes his debut and challenges Valt Aoi! Even after winning, he sees something in Paris! Pegasus glinted back, responding. Paris recalled the day that his father, Gingka, handed over Pegasus’ legacy to him. He wondered what the bey had experienced in his life. Boredly tossing Pegasus into the air, it suddenly slipped, bouncing onto the luscious green grass. It spilled into a small pond nearby, before being thrown back. Paris immediately caught it. “What kind of pond throws things?” He questioned. The pond began bubbling, before a jagged ponytail emerged. Then slowly, a boy with a red A marking on his face revealed himself. “I’m pretty sure I’m a kid, not a pond,” Aiga remarked as the two burst out laughing. “I’m-“ “Paris Hagane. Yeah, Valt told me you were coming. Nice to meet ‘ya. It’s getting dark soon, so let’s head to my place.” Not before long, the two arrived at the Crimson Nova’s house. Paris couldn’t help but feel impressed by the statues that were scattered around the place. There was one in particular that he’d taken an interest to. “You like this one?” Aiga smiled. “This one’s Achilles, one of the strongest heroes in Greek Mythology!” Before Aiga could say any more, his dad, Taiga Akaba greeted the two. “Hey, Aiga. Oh, I see you’ve brought a friend.” Aiga nodded. “This is Paris Hagane. He’s the son of the legendary blader Gingka!” You could obviously tell from Taiga’s facial expression that he knew Gingka. “Ah, how’s he doing? I haven’t talked to him in a while.” “Me neither,” Paris replied. “He’s doing great though.” The sun began to set behind the horizon. Taiga headed to the barn. “Now,” Aiga smirked. “Let’s start your training!” The two walked into the shed, where a large stadium was conveniently placed. “Alright, Paris. Now, the key to winning a Beybattle is a good offense,” Aiga instructed. “That I can do,” Paris responded, “My Immortal Pegasus is an Attack Type.” Aiga stood on one end of the stadium. He held his launcher like a shield. “You’re also gonna want to use a launch style,” Aiga added. “The harder you launch, the faster your bey will go.” “Right. Launch, fast, bey,” Paris lunged, with one knee in front of the other. Aiga rummaged through his pockets and pulled out his bey, Cho Z Achilles. “Let’s see what you got!” Aiga exclaimed. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Aiga sprinted and leapt into the air, twirling around. “Let it rip!” Both Achilles and Pegasus circled around the stadium, smashing into each other endlessly. “Achilles!” Aiga cried, “Super Z Defense!” A shield formed around Achilles, as Pegasus’ attacks were useless. “Now, Immortal Pegasus! Let’s end this!” Paris roared. Pegasus dealt a chain of attacks to Achilles, as its shield disappeared. “That was only the beginning!” Aiga grinned. “Super Z Upper!” Achilles’ beast emerged from the bey, resembling the statue that Paris spotted earlier. Cho Z Achilles scooped Pegasus, uppercutting it, thus flinging it into the air. Within three seconds, it exploded. Paris gasped, “No way!” He quickly reassembled Immortal Pegasus. “Come on Aiga! Let’s battle again! This time I’ll win!” Aiga suppressed a smile, “I thought you’d never ask.” “Let it rip!” The wings on Achilles popped out, exactly like what happened with Valkyrie. “You have a Burst Stopper too?” The amber-haired boy questioned. Achilles began in Attack Mode, as the two beys crazily swarmed each other with endless attacks. “Let’s make this battle short!” Aiga exclaimed, leaping into the air, dragging his fist down. “Super Z Buster!” Achilles pursued Pegasus in the center of the stadium, where it channeled its energy into a single attack, launching it into the air. “Not so fast! Fly, Pegasus!” Paris commanded, as a divine, white horse dived down in unison with its bey. “That’s not all!” Paris added, “Go now! Let’s win together Pegasus!” Immortal Pegasus performed a flower-pattern attack on Achilles, rushing it. Suddenly, Cho Z Achilles was flung into the air. Aiga almost seemed surprised, but nevertheless, he had a trick up his sleeve. “You’re not going to win against me this easily! Go, Super Z Dive!” Cho Z Achilles tilted slightly, and shot down like an arrow, drilling into Immortal Pegasus, bursting it almost instantly. Collapsing to the floor, Paris panted heavily. Aiga walked over to the boy, and offered his hand, helping him up. “I don’t normally say this, but uh, you did good. Say, why don’t we give Pegasus a little gift?” “What do you mean by that?” Paris questioned, only to get a mischievous grin as a response. On the other side of the room, lay an old computer you’d find from the 1990’s. Aiga loaded the old piece of plastic up, before drawing a diagram of what looked like a frame. “What do you think?” Aiga presented, as the image rendered. The frame had a hexagonal design, with small protrusions sticking out on each side. “Awesome!” Paris complimented. Shortly after, Aiga pulled a sheet of plastic from the cupboard and carved the shape neatly. Paris carefully placed the new frame on Pegasus. Now it looked complete - the layer had three thick wings which you could twist and adjust the modes. The disc, 00’ was an enhanced version of 00, except it was heavier. The frame, Galaxy, featured a bulky hexagonal design with protrusions on each corner. Last but not least was the driver, Omega. Like Jolt, it had a star-shaped design but featured a thicker and taller rubber, making the Beyblade more streamline. “Now Pegasus looks complete,” Paris said. “Hey Aiga, let’s battle again!” “Challenge accepted.” Thanks to the Galaxy frame, Pegasus felt much heavier. Paris lunged as usual, preparing to launch. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Cho-Z Achilles was set in stamina mode, as it spun in the centre of the stadium. Immortal Pegasus dived down and diced Achilles with a single blow, flinging it into the air. “Now! Super Z Dive!” Aiga commanded, as Achilles darted down. If it landed on Pegasus, he’d surely win. “Come on, Pegasus! Dodge him!” Paris instructed. Immortal Pegasus slid to the right, dodging Achilles’ attack. Achilles, retreating to the centre of the stadium, had Pegasus in hot pursuit as it blew a string of barrage attacks, leaving Achilles no chance to escape. “Nice try, but you won’t defeat me!” Aiga said with certainty in his voice, a tinge of determination. “Achilles! Super Z Slash!” The two-blades on Cho-Z Achilles lit up as it ran through Immortal Pegasus, flinging it into the air. “This isn’t over!” Paris thundered. “Now, Immortal Starblast Attack!” Aiga’s jaw almost fell to the floor. “What did he say?” Suddenly, Pegasus’ bit beast appeared, a divine-looking Pegasus. Immortal Pegasus fell downward, charging at blinding speeds as the bey glowed a vibrant blue. “Now Achilles! Super Z Upper!” Aiga bellowed, as Pegasus landed onto Cho-Z Achilles. Achilles managed to wriggle Pegasus off and rocket it into the air. Just as both bladers expected Pegasus to burst for the third time, it flew into the wall, and rebounded perfectly off, charging at a ridiculous speed toward Achilles. “Go now, Pegasus! Let’s take him down!” Paris cried. Cho-Z Achilles and Pegasus were both swept away by the wind. It looked as if they tied. “One point to Immortal Pegasus for a Ring Out Finish.” A voice declared at the door. It was none other than Aiga’s dad, Taiga. The Crimson Nova, picking up Achilles, smiled. “Looks like my amazing teaching payed off,” he boasted, as they both shared a laugh. In the early morning, the birds chirped melodically. As Paris readjusted his backpack, Aiga and Taiga stood at the top of the hill, waving him goodbye. “Thanks again, Aiga,” Paris smiled. “Nah, don’t mention it. It was nothing.” Soon after, Taiga and Aiga were out of sight. This was probably a signal for Paris to go. As he trotted down the path, the boy glanced at his phone, receiving a notification. It read, “Calling all bladers! The WBBA is hosting the annual district tournaments, which will happen all over Japan!" “District tournament..?” Paris cluelessly repeated. “Well then, count me in!” Chapter 3 - Invincible Blades! Adamantine Theseus! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris trains with the Crimson Nova, Aiga Akaba! After being defeated several times, he learns his first Special Move, Immortal Starblast Attack! Monday mornings. It just had to be Monday Mornings. Snatching a few slices of BeyBread from the kitchen, Paris was in a rush today. Pacing himself along the sidepath, the pristine waters were almost as pure as Pegasus’ feathers. It was still early in the morning, however, as the streets of Beigoma were rather deserted. “What’s this?” Paris muttered, remembering it was early. A rogue, glossy poster hit him in the face as he swatted it away. Instantly catching it, the boy scanned it. The poster, in bright red print, had a photo of an eleven-year old looking boy with black sneakers, dark blue jeans, a zipped-up blue coat and curly brown hair. “Roan Jamieson,” Paris said, racking his brain for more details. “It was about nine o’clock on TV,” Paris added. The amber-haired boy remembered Roan standing proudly at the stadium, with the other blader falling to his knees. On the back of the poster, it read, The District Tournament commenced today! The winner of the tournament gets to battle one of the Z5, Roan Jamieson! Paris felt a sudden outburst of eagerness. Within seconds he arrived at the school’s gates, his ears ringing a bell to a familiar sound. Clink! It went off again, followed by a bursting sound. Excitedly widening his mouth, Paris rushed into the gymnasium, where several stadiums were scattered across. “Aiga Akaba wins, 4-0,” the referee announced. The bladers in the room seemed exhausted, except Aiga, who looked like he barely broke a sweat. “Aiga!” Paris shouted, running over to the Crimson Nova. Aiga caught his Cho-Z Achilles into his hand cleanly, as he waved back. “Hey Paris! Didn’t expect to see ‘ya here. New student?” Paris nodded. “Sweet! There’s someone I want you to meet-“ A boy with long, aqua dreads, dark skin and blue at the tips appeared. Paris almost mistook him for a rapper, as he wore a baggy white shirt, grey pants and running shoes. “Sup, Paris Hagane,” the boy said, his jewellery jiggling. “The name’s Taiki Igarashi. Heard ‘ya battled Aiga Akaba?” Paris, with an arrogant grin, exclaimed, “You bet! And I won!” Aiga’s ears were steaming red, as he marched like a soldier. “The second battle!” He snapped. “And with an Over Finish!” Paris awkwardly tapped his foot, to no particular tune, before Taiki unslung the launcher from his back like a sword. “So, wanna battle then?” “Do I?” Paris’ smile grew wider. Aiga, bounced to the stadium. “Then I’ll referee! Alright, inspect each other’s beys!” Taiki handed over Adamantine Theseus to Paris. The layer was extremely heavy and bulky, that Paris had a hard time carrying it. There were two crude-shaped blades on each side, with two red gleaming eyes in the centre. The disc, 50, had twenty-five spikes on each side, whilst the frame, Crown, was a circular version of Galaxy, but much rounder and less bumpy. Theseus’ driver, Ultimate Reboot’, was nothing too special, but it definitely looked tough, as did the rest of the bey. “Awesome bey!” Paris complimented, tossing it back over to Taiki, who caught it in the palm of his hand. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Before launching, Taiki leapt into the air and tossed his launcher downward like throwing a boomerang. Adamantine Theseus gained an incredible amount of speed from the launch, whipping Pegasus into the air. “Now Pegasus! Let’s fly!” Paris called, a blue aura spouting from him. “Immortal Starblast Attack!” The wings on Immortal Pegasus glinted, and upon crashing into Theseus, the Ultimate Reboot’ driver retracted the prongs, using all of its energy into speed. Pegasus, being shaken off, slammed into the wall and Theseus collided with it, gaining more speed as it went. “Now Theseus! Break him away with Adamantine Blade!” Taiki commanded. Paris heard a haunting noise, as the two crude-looking blades on Theseus extended outward, pushing into Pegasus’ layer as it burst. Paris was filled with shock. “No way!” he cried. Aiga pointed to Taiki. “That’s two points for a Burst Finish! Taiki wins the battle!” Taiki shot Paris a “Good job!” look before heading out the door. “I got guitar practice, ‘cya. Oh, and Paris, if you’re in the District Tournament-“ Suddenly, Taiki had an intimidating aura around him. “Then I’mma look forward to beating you again.” Paris gasped in unison with the others. Even Aiga seemed baffled by Taiki’s actions. “Haven’t seen him do that. He kind of reminds me of my friend Suoh.” “Don’t know who that is. Anyway, it’s time for a dreadful six hours of school,” Paris replied. —————————————————— Paris sprung out of his seat. Sprinting through the hallway, he caught up with Aiga Akaba. “See you at the tournament,” he said, as they both parted ways. At the tournament, Hanami proudly announced, “Welcome boys and girls to the Beigoma District Tournament! This is exactly where Valt Aoi, our champion began his Beyblade Career. Please give a round of an applause for our champion!” Through the metal door that unveiled, the Boy Wonder ran, and... THUD! Valt had tripped over, but quickly leapt, giggling as he scratched his head. “Alrightie! It’s time for the first match of the District Tournament, which is a two-point match! The winner has full rights to battle Roan Jamieson!” On the door at the other side, stood the boy Paris spotted on the poster. “That’s the guy,” he said under his breath in the waiting room. “The two competing bladers are Paris Hagane and Taiki Igarashi, the Raging Storm and a guitarist of Zac’s band!” Hanami proudly announced. Paris exited the waiting room and found himself on the stage, where Taiki stood at the other door. “Hiya, Paris Hagane. Wanna continue where we left off?” he said, humbly. Much to Paris’ confusion, Taiki seemed back to normal. Paris scanned the crowd and noticed both Valt Aoi and Roan Jamieson watching in the crowd. The match hadn’t started yet, and he already felt tons of pressure. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Taiki performed the same launch from before. Both beyblades clashed in the centre almost instantly, hurtling wind at Paris’ face. “Go now, Pegasus! Let’s fight together!” As both beys flung into the wall, Immortal Pegasus zoomed, swinging its feathers into Theseus. Paris felt the same aura emerge from Taiki once again. “Enough’s enough!” he boomed. “Adamantine Blade!” The two blades on Theseus glowed up, as Pegasus galloped toward it. “Go now!” the two bladers cried in unison, as dust had surrounded the bladers. An obvious Clink! sound was all that was heard. It was one bey or the other. As the dust cleared up, the referee pointed to Taiki. Immortal Pegasus was sitting at Paris’ shoes. “One point to Adamantine Theseus for an Over Finish! The score is now 1-0!” The referee announced, as the crowd bursted with excitement. Aiga, standing next to Valt at a seat placed overheard, shouted, “Come on Paris! You can do it!” The entire building fell silent, until Valt repeated what Aiga said. Then, gradually, the crowd was chanting, “Come on Paris!” Taiki chuckled, tossing his jacket aside. “It seems like the crowd’s in favour of you. But that won’t change the outcome of our battle.” Paris ignored the comment, and felt courageous from the cheering. He nodded and confidently inserted Pegasus into the launcher. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” Paris closed his eyes and spun around, improvising as he went. “One!” He slightly pushed off the ground, leaping into the air. “Let it rip!” Taiki gasped at Paris’ new launch, a combination of Aiga and Valt’s. Opening his eyes, the amber-haired boy said, “That’s the Supernova Shoot!” Pegasus was glowing a vibrant blue. This time, it stayed in the centre, defending all of Theseus’ attacks. Circling around, Immortal Pegasus shot out into the wall, flinging itself into the air. “Now! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris called out. Pegasus’ beast, a white winged-horse appeared. Immortal Pegasus shot down into Adamantine Theseus. Suddenly, Taiki called out, “Now, counter it! Adamantine Blade!” Theseus’ avatar appeared, a heavily armoured knight with a double-sided blade. Theseus and Pegasus were both sent into the wall, before heading to the centre for an epic clash. “Finish him!” they cried in unison, as both beys dealt a string of attacks, neither willing to give up. “Now Theseus! Playtime’s over! Defeat him with Adamantine Barrage Fury!” Adamantine Theseus lingered around Pegasus before sending a chain of attacks, tossing it into the air. “I believe in you Pegasus! Together, Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris roared. “What? Again?” Taiki questioned, distracted from the battle. Immortal Pegasus, this time, crashed straight into the middle of Adamantine Theseus, as both beys were in for an ultimate final clash. “Pegasus! End this!” Paris yelled, as Adamantine Theseus flew into the air and hurtled into Taiki’s face, bursting. The crowd lit up, as the screen changed on Paris’ side into a two. “Two points to Immortal Pegasus for a Burst Finish! Paris Hagane wins with the score of 2-1!” the referee announced. “Alright! The legendary blader’s son, Paris Hagane, earns himself a spot into the next round! Meanwhile Charles Schwab has done the same! Could these two be the next to battle?” Hanami reported. Chapter 4 - Stepping Up a Notch! Ultra Centurion! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris trains with Aiga and earns himself not only the Galaxy frame but a new rival! Hello? He found himself a seat on a nearby rock, where a neat line of stars aligned together. “Hey,” Paris laughed, pointing. “That looks like a Pegasus.” Reaching for Immortal Pegasus, Paris overhead what seemed to be a girl’s voice. “It’s three in the morning and you don’t want a break? The three parts landed beside him. Before the amber-haired boy could protest, Paris heard rustling through the bushes. A circular, black frame landed barrel-rolled, landing at his arm. Charles didn’t seem to notice - he concentrated, firing Centurion into the stadium. Observing the frame, Paris widened his eyes. “The Crown frame,” he mumbled, as Aiga and Taiki suddenly appeared out of nowhere, rolling out of the bushes and landing in front of the stadium. Centurion rode up the stadium and landed perfectly into Charles’ glove. “You brought visitors?” Charles turned to Paris. The amber-haired boy shook his head. “They didn’t tell me they were coming.” Brushing himself off, Aiga pinched Paris’ shoulder. “Eh em, we’re his friends, not they,” Aiga corrected. “Sorry,” Paris apologised. “What are you doing here anyway?” Aiga scratched his head, and reached for something. “Heard you were coming here. Decided to tag along,” he shrugged. Taiki waved at Charles. “Woah! Isn’t that your next opponent, Paris?” Taiki questioned. Paris nodded. Charles squinted, pointing toward the boy in the middle. “You’re Aiga Akaba, aren’t you?” “Sure am! That’s my name, don’t wear it out!” Aiga replied. Charles seemed to chuckle for a brief moment. Paris turned to Jamie. “What’s with the personality change?” Jamie seemed happy to answer the question. “He’s just tired. It’s early in the morning, and he gets really serious when battling. Other than that, he’s a fun guy.” Paris hoped she was right. Aiga rummaged through his pocket and brought out Cho-Z Achilles. “Aiga Akaba, I’m a legendary blader. Thanks for bringing along your friends,” Charles smiled. “And I challenge you to a battle!” Aiga smirked. “Sure thing. Don’t get too upset when I win, though.” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Cho-Z Achilles was set in defense position. Ultra Centurion snakes along the outer rim, and farted through the stadium, crashing into Achilles. “That all you can do?” Aiga remarked. “Cuz I can do way more.” “Same here,” Charles responded, “Like this! Centurion Crash!” Ultra Centurion hit the floor of the stadium, hurtling upward and landing onto Cho-Z Achilles, piercing through. “Haah! Centurion, finish him!” Paris knew that wasn’t possible. He recalled Aiga activating the Burst Stoppers, making Achilles impossible to bursting. Cho-Z Achilles launched into the air, and landed at Aiga’s face. “Attack mode!” he boomed, as Achilles’ Dimension driver shifted to an attack position. Upon reaching the stadium’s surface, it’s speed drastically boosted, warping into Ultra Centurion, flinging it into the air. “That’s not all I have!” Charles squalled. “Aerial Attack!” Centurion’s beast suddenly appeared, a robot-like soldier marching. It fired a beam of fiery plasma from its hands, shooting it at Achilles. Ultra Centurion gained more speed and momentum as it fell, landing onto Cho-Z Achilles, drilling into the layer. Both beys clashed, expelling wind and energy from the stadium. Taiki, Paris and Aiga all covered their eyes as they knew this was only the beginning. Centurion and Achilles were both swept from the wind, landing at their owner’s feet. Jamie stepped up to the stadium. “Simultaneous Over Finish,” she declared. “No points.” Taiki and Paris exchanged each other looks. There was a rising tension in the air. Paris felt his hands sweating, although the weather had been pretty bad. “Ready for round two?” Charles grunted, panting heavily. “You bet,” Aiga replied, puffing. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Both bladers leapt into the air and spun, performing their launch. “Let it rip!” Cho-Z Achilles was set in attack mode. It spun crazily, and shot into Ultra Centurion, slamming it into the wall. “End him, now! Super Z Buster!” Aiga leapt into the air, his hairband breaking apart, his maroon hair letting out. Achilles’ beast appeared, an armoured crimson knight, slashing away with its sword. Centurion was in the centre of the stadium. Cho-Z Achilles pinned Ultra Centurion to the stadium’s surface, hurtling Charles’ bey into the air. Charles’ hair stood up, as he thundered, “It’s all over! Ultra Revival!” The prongs on the Revival driver retracted inward, darting it across the stadium, as it gained a massive outburst in speed. “No way!” Aiga gasped, sweat trickling down his face. “Now, stop him in his tracks! Super Z Shoot!” Cho-Z Achilles climbed up the stadium of the walls, and dived down, striking Centurion, gaining momentum with every hit. Ultra Centurion circled among the centre of the stadium, defending itself from the incoming attacks. “Look at it go!” Taiki exclaimed, suspensefully. “Centurion won’t budge!” Charles roared, “That was only the beginning! Centurion Fortress!” Ultra Centurion gained an inferno-like aura around it, as Achilles’ barrage of attacks seemed useless. Cho-Z Achilles flung into the air, gaining one click. It landed into the stadium wall, and rushed down. “Super Z Sword!” He commanded. Two large swirls gathered around Achilles, as it pierced through Centurion’s shield. Ultra Centurion rolled backward and slammed into the stadium wall, recoiling back into the centre, where it clashed with Cho-Z Achilles. Everyone in the forest knew it was the endgame now. Achilles bounced back, as both beys crazily rushed through each other. Cho-Z Achilles immediately gained its last click. “Congratulations on making it this far,” Charles blurted, his hair ruffled and messed up. “You could’ve backed away earlier, but it’s too late now.” Aiga gulped, gasping. Jamie seemed uneasy herself, as if she’s never seen this side of Charles before. “He’s just serious in battle,” she reminded him. Paris hoped Jamie was right. Centurion backed away from the clash and launched itself into the air by riding the stadium’s walls. It channeled its energy like a bullet, id layer and disc aligning. “Quintuple Attack!” Charles commanded. Ultra Centurion returned to the stadium floor, and dealt five massive attacks to Cho-Z Achilles. “Super Z Defense!” Aiga cried, as a shield formed around Achilles, protecting itself. “Not happening today!” Charles erupted. “Burst Strike!” Centurion’s beast appeared once more, a robotic soldier. It shot a blinding laser from its hand. Ultra Centurion snaked around Achilles’ wall, finding a way to break through. “Haaaah! Let’s show him everything we’ve got, Achilles!” Cho-Z Achilles knocked back Ultra Centurion, launching it out. Just as everyone thought Centurion would lose by an Over Finish, it rebounded off of the stadium’s wall, gaining more speed as it went. “Impossible!” Taiki gasped. Centurion’s Burst Strike exploded Achilles’ shield, and both beys clashed. As wind expelled from the stadium, Paris, Jamie and Taiki all covered their eyes. Everything fell silent.. until a bursting noise was heard. Scanning the stadium, neither bey had burst. Paris’ jaw literally dropped. Achilles’ Burst Stoppers had been pushed in by Ultra Centurion. “Yes, we did it!” Charles celebrated, as Centurion spiralled around the outer edge of the stadium. “I don’t need a Burst Stopper, or any special gimmick to prove how strong I am! That’s what strengthens me and Achilles’ bond!” Aiga shouted over the wind. Achilles suddenly changed height, much to Charles’ surprise. “Achilles! Super Z Slash!” Aiga commanded. Achilles’ beast appeared for the final time, as its sword glinted miraculously. Two whips formed around the blade on Achilles, as it sliced through Centurion. Centurion lost a click, as Achilles used the last of its stamina to defend itself in the centre. Aiga suddenly gasped, recalling back to his battle with Hearts at the Dead Gran. “Dead Gravity!” Aiga remembered Hearts call out. It wasn’t a pleasant moment. Ultra Centurion cycled around Achilles. “I’ve got you right where I want!” Charles grinned. He clenched his fists and punched through the air. Cho-Z Achilles was repeatedly thrashed as it bounced around. Centurion seemed to have formed an indestructible ring around Achilles. “Omni Attack!” Charles bawled finally. The ring got smaller and smaller, smaller and smaller. Centurion glowed up, its feathers going right through Achilles’ layer. “Finish him!” Charles commanded. The ring vanished, as Achilles was shot into the air. A huge explosion of energy spread across the stadium, blinding everyone as they covered their eyes. The sound of one bey losing two clicks was all to be heard. Followed by a bursting sound. Aiga gasped, widening his eyes and falling to his knees. Taiki and Paris seemed just as shocked. Charles panted heavily, almost collapsing. Achilles had burst into three parts, its Dimension driver still spinning. Centurion had ran out of stamina, it lay dormant on the stadium’s floor. Every single person looked at Jamie, awaiting a response. Jamie pointed to Charles proudly. “Two points to Ultra Centurion for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-0, meaning Charles wins!” Taiki and Paris rushed to Aiga’s side, helping him up. Charles smiled, offering his hand to the Crimson Nova. “That was a close match. Any further and, well,” Charles started. He demonstrated as he attempted to reach for Ultra Centurion, which burst in his hand. “See? Close call.” Aiga nodded and smiled, wrinkling his nose. “Good match,” he sighed. Paris was still surprised. Had Charles just burst Cho-Z Achilles? And yet it took hours to land an Over Finish! Charles pointed to Paris. “Hope you know what you’re in for.” Paris reached for Pegasus, glancing at it. “Sorry we lost. We’ll try harder.” Taiki stepped in, reaching for Theseus. “Come on Charles! Let’s battle, right here, right now!” He nodded. “Let it rip!” Both bladers cried in unison. Within seconds, Charles closed his eyes and turned around, raising his fist into the air, as wind dragged away from the stadium. Theseus burst immediately, landing at Taiki’s feet. Taiki shook his head, his eye twitching. Paris turned to Jamie. “He’s not trying,” Paris observed. “Unlike his battle with Aiga.” Jamie nodded, agreeing. It was early in the morning, time for breakfast. Jamie walked over to Charles. “You’ve been training for six hours now. Come on buddy, let’s go home.” As the two departed, Aiga stood up and brushed himself off. Pointing to Paris, he seemed serious. “If you can’t beat me, I don’t know why you think you can beat Charles,” Aiga decreed. “It’s going to be a lot harder from now on. You’re going to need to step up your game.” Chapter 5 - Immortal Stormbringer! Pegasus vs Centurion! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris sneaks out of home at night and ultimately finds his next opponent training, Charles Schwab! After defeating Paris, Taiki and even Aiga, Paris knows he needs to train! Paris felt like his legs were turning to jelly. He’d make him hurl a rock from one side of the school to the other. “Paris,” Aiga warned sternly, “I understand you’re tired. But you need to train to beat Charles!” Nodding, Paris held out Pegasus. “How about a few battles, then?” Aiga’s face immediately lit up. Taiki held his hand in the centre of the stadium, as Paris could clearly see that battles would be different from now. Paris guessed this was from experience. He’d battled Phi and Hearts, both of whom were almost impossible to defeat. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris and Aiga both leapt into the air, spinning, as Paris immediately slipped, landing on his back. “Let it rip!” Pegasus immediately hurtled toward the wall and bounced off, losing a click. “If only I could push in the burst stopper..” Cho-Z Achilles came rushing down with a scorching chain of attacks. With nowhere to move, Pegasus burst, landing at Paris’ feet. Taiki burst out laughing. “Can I make the name for that move? The Pegasus Plummet!” Paris rolled his eyes, and wiped away the sweat. “Come on, another battle!” Aiga agreed, shrugging. “—-One!” The Crimson Nova and Paris ran, leaping into the air and spinning. “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus dashed into the centre and crammed around it. “Now Achilles!” Aiga yelled, as Cho-Z Achilles charged down at incredible speeds. Pegasus quickly dodged the impending attack, however Paris knew there were more. Immortal Pegasus shot upward and circled around the stadium, crashing into Cho-Z Achilles. Both beys clashed, before Aiga commanded, “This is our chance! Super Z Sword!” Achilles’ beast appeared, an armoured red knight. Its sword gleamed. Cho-Z Achilles knocked Pegasus, but it barely survived, rebounding off the wall and losing a click. “Phew,” Paris sighed. Achilles made his way for a second round. It pressed into Pegasus, giving it barely no chance to escape. Pegasus flung into the air and not before long, Paris shouted, “Let’s do this! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus’ beast appeared, a white winged-horse. It galloped and charged forward. Immortal Pegasus dived down, arrowing into Achilles’ burst stopper. “Come on.. come on...” “Enough!” Aiga roared, “Super Z Slash!” Two fiery whips emerged from either side of Achilles, as it slashed at Pegasus, making it lose another two clicks. “One more click to go,” Aiga mumbled. “That is, if you can beat this! Immortal Stormbringer!” Aiga gasped, Taiki spitting out his drink. Pegasus rushed to the centre of the stadium, as Paris’ lightning-bolt necklace flared. The bey rushed around, and captured Achilles into the tornado, widening its range. “Now! Take him down!” Paris exclaimed. Cho-Z Achilles attempted to escape, but Immortal Pegasus blocked it, shooting Achilles into the sky. As Aiga picked up Achilles, he noticed the Burst Stoppers push in. “Wow! Paris, you took down Achilles’ wings!” “I did?” The amber-haired boy leapt into the air excitedly, “I did it!” Taiki was still in shock. “Sweet! Now, take Charles down and earn yourself a place in the quarterfinals!” Glancing over at Aiga, he nodded, and Paris looked down at Pegasus. “We’ll fight together, Pegasus!” “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a highly anticipated match! In the red corner, we have Charles Schwab!” Charles emerged from a door, and waved at the crowd, as they cheered for him. “And in the blue corner, we have the boy who took the world by surprise! Paris Hagane!” Paris ran eagerly and landed in front of the stadium. “Nice to see you again, Paris,” Charles smiled. Paris raised an eyebrow. “Sorry, but you seem.. different?” “Thanks. Only kidding, I’m just serious during battle.” Paris nodded. The room fell silent, as his eyes dawned on Pegasus. “Let’s do this buddy.” “First battle! Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” The two bladers jumped, spinning and firing their beys. “Let it rip!” Ultra Centurion captured the centre inmediately. “Centurion Fortress!” he yelled. An orb-like ring surrounded Centurion, defending it as Pegasus dived down for a rush of attacks. Pegasus jolted back, and warped into Centurion from all kinds of directions. Nonetheless, Centurion wouldn’t budge. Immortal Pegasus rebounded and zoomed from the wall, ready to land a damaging attack onto Centurion. “Dodge it!” Charles exclaimed, his red gloves glinting. Ultra Centurion rolled backward, and Immortal Pegasus slammed into the wall, losing stamina. “Not good,” Aiga observed from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Roan was still watching. He seemed silent, but curious. As Pegasus performed a flower-pattern attack, Centurion took advantage and cycled around it, making a Dead-Gravity style move. The ring got smaller and smaller. Attempting to escape, Centurion thwarted each move. “Now! End this, Centurion!” Immediately, Pegasus lost two clicks. Paris knew Pegasus was going to burst, and it’d be all over for him. Luckily for Paris, Pegasus flung out of the stadium, and hit the floor, bursting afterward. The replay button repeated what just happened. “One point to Ultra Centurion for an Over Finish. The score is now 1-0,” the referee announced, pointing to Charles. Charles grinned, picking up Centurion. “Now let’s finish him off in the next battle.” Aiga and Taiki both relieved a sweat. “Phew,” Taiki said, “Close call.” “We can’t keep relying on close calls, though.” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Both bladers performed their special launches. “Let it rip!” Both Centurion and Pegasus immediately clashed in the centre, tossing wind and outbursts of energy out of the stadium. “Take him down Centurion!” “You know the drill, Pegasus!” Both beys continued to clash, until one click was down. Pegasus was driven to the outer rim of the stadium, and Centurion in hot pursuit. “Now’s our chance Centurion! Burst Strike!” Centurion’s beast appeared, a robot-like soldier. It sped up dramatically, flinging Pegasus into the air. “Oh no you don’t! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus tilted downward and fired into Centurion, flinging it into the air. “Hah! It’s like an endless cycle!” Taiki exclaimed. “Centurion Crash!” Charles erupted. Centurion bounced onto Pegasus, hurling both beys into the stadium wall. “Haaaaah!” They both roared, as the two beys endlessly struck each other with scorching hot attacks. “End this!” They cried in unison, as both beys flung into their blader’s faces, bursting. The crowd exploded with excitement, as the referee pointed to both bladers. “Simultaneous Over Finish! No points!” Charles and Paris both panted, and prepared for round three. “Third battle! Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris used his Supernova Shoot. “Let it rip! Immortal Pegasus rushed into Ultra Centurion with a chain of cosmic attacks. “Let’s turn this up a notch, Centurion! Ultra Revival!” Centurion’s beast appeared, a robot soldier. The bey spiralled along the outer edges of the stadium before diving down with amazing speed and attacks. “No way!” Paris gasped, as Pegasus was thrown into the air. “Fight together! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus’ beast appeared, a white-winged horse, galloping through the cosmos. Immortal Pegasus bolted down and pierced through Ultra Centurion, knocking both beys into the air. They both recovered, and Ultra Centurion took the centre. “Heat the battle up, Pegasus! Rush him!” A strong chain of attacks swept through Centurion, however it wouldn’t budge. “Come on, Paris! You can do it!” Aiga boomed. Paris gasped, turning away from the stadium and looking at Aiga. The Crimson Nova nodded, giving a thumbs-up. Then, the entire crowd chanted Paris’ name. He felt a sudden burst of confidence, as Pegasus glowed, climbing the stadium walls and darting back down, expelling its power into one massive attack. Centurion’s fortress broke, as its trajectory changed. Charles leapt into the air, his hair raising. “Burst Strike!” Ultra Centurion snaked around the stadium, viciously pinching Pegasus, making it lose a click. Both beys crazily rushed each other, as they both drained each other’s stamina. “Hold on, Centurion!” “You can do it, Pegasus!” Charles had a trick up his sleeve. As if pulling a card, he commanded, “Now! Omni Attack!” Aiga and Taiki gasped. Unfortunately for Pegasus, it was caught between Centurion’s ring. Pegasus bounced around, attempting to escape, but it was within Centurion’s grasp. The ring closed, decreasing in size. Then suddenly, Immortal Pegasus circled around the stadium, trailing a blue flash behind it. Paris’ lightning bolt necklace flared. “Now! Immortal Stormbringer!” Charles gasped, as he had never heard the move name before. Hanami tuned his microphone. “Wow! Omni Attack against Immortal Stormbringer! Look at those beys go!” Pegasus’ barrier extended, pressing against Centurion’s. After the dust cleared, Ultra Centurion’s barrier broke, leaving Pegasus capturing Centurion. “Hah! I’ve always wanted to say this, but I got you right where I want!” Paris giggled a little. Immortal Stormbringer closed and got smaller and smaller, smaller and smaller, until... A beam of blue light shot upward, dragging Ultra Centurion along. “Hang in there, Centurion!” Ultra Centurion managed to escape, barely, landing onto Pegasus’ layer. It crashed down, bursting upon impact. Charles gasped. The crowd cheered, as Aiga and Taiki leapt out of their seats and exclaimed, “We knew you could do it!” Charles hair covered his eyes, but he blew it away. “Good job..” he said, sinking his fist into the floor. Paris smiled, offering his hand. “You did really good! I want you to take this.” Charles glanced up, a little shocked. Paris handed him a Centurion-style BeyBread, as Charles quickly nibbled it. “And there’s more of those at the BeyClub!” Paris smiled. “Well count me in!” Charles added. The referee finally pointed to Paris. “Two points for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-1, making Paris Hagane the winner! He moves on to the Quarterfinals. “What an amazing win! Both blazers must be exhausted!” Paris stared off into the screen, which showed the remaining bladers. Including himself, there were six left. His photo was paired up with a boy with a cheerful smile. His bey read, Flash Trident! Chapter 5.5 - Ocean Training! Gateway to the Quarterfinals! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris defeats Charles after an intense battle, and makes his way to the quarter-finals! “I love the ocean!” Paris exclaimed, diving head-first into the water. Charles and Aiga were having an intense volleyball match, whilst Taiki shook a crab off of his hand. Charles slammed the volleyball, pouncing into the air. “I call this the Aerial Attack!” he joked. Aiga flinched, dropping the ball. “I’ll get it!” Paris exclaimed, running after it. The boy was sidetracked however, by what seemed to be the sound of a ship. The four dashed to the pier, as a boy with a beige trench coat and light-blue hair stood on the boat. The boat was large, and docked by the side. The boy leapt off the boat and landed on his feet, tossing the ball into Paris’ arms as he caught it. The mysterious boy gave a cheerful grin, as Taiki, Charles and Aiga all ran up to him. “Toko!” they cried in unison. “Hey guys,” he said. “I’m back from Spain.” Paris felt slightly excluded, but Toko turned to him. “Who’s this?” Paris grinned. “Son of Gingka Hagane of course! I’m Paris!” Toko gasped. “You’re the Paris Hagane?” Paris nodded. Aiga stepped in, raising his hand like a student. “Whatcha doing in Spain?” Toko replied, “Went to Raul. He helped me evolve Screw Trident into Flash Trident!” The boy revealed his bey. It had three rubber patches on each side, and a large metal trident that went across the layer. The disc, 0, Paris recognised on Cho Z Spriggan and Emperor Forneus. Perhaps Toko had a connection with Shu? The frame, Barrier, had many round spikes around it, like Bump, but was split into two thick platforms, which was able to be customised. The driver, Dome, had a wide tip with a large perimeter, joining up to an apex. The side of the driver had a ring on a large pole. “Raul’s gotten heaps better,” Aiga stifled a laugh. Toko smiled, pointing back to the ship, “Well, I gotta go. Wanna tag along?” Everyone’s eyes lit up, as they followed Toko onboard. On the main deck, was a huge stadium. Multiple cannons were placed around the stadium. Taiki fiddled with one cannon. “That doesn’t work,” Toko said. Taiki frowned, walking over to the stadium. “What?” Paris’ jaw fell to the stadium. “You mean to tell me you’re Valt’s younger brother?” Everyone rolled their eyes, nodding. Charles headed over to the cockpit, pointing to the wheel. “I got some experience with that,” he said. “Oh yeah, and by the way, Paris is your next opponent for the tournament,” Aiga interrupted. Toko turned to Charles. “Sorry, we can talk ships later.” He ran over to the stadium. There was a pause of silence. “Flash Trident and I will take you down!” Toko challenged. Paris searched for his pockets and pulled out Immortal Pegasus. “Not if we can’t help it!” Charles exclaimed, “I’ll be the ref’! Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris spun and leapt into the air. “Let it rip!” Flash Trident took the centre, its avatar hovering over the bey. “Now Pegasus!” Paris cried, Immortal Pegasus zooming around Trident. “Immortal Stormbringer!” A wave of endless clashes proceeded, Trident taking on each hit with ease. Pegasus’ beast appeared, as Trident shot up. “Flash Counter!” Toko exclaimed. Trident’s beast appeared, a spearman wielding a trident. Flash Trident ascended downward, crashing into Immortal Pegasus. Pegasus was flung into the wall, but it managed to keep doing. “Not enough to take us down!” Paris remarked. “Go, go, go!” Immortal Pegasus rushed through Trident. Trident tilted on its driver, charging its momentum. “Here it comes,” Taiki commented on the sidelines. “Final Flash Strike!” Paris had a bad feeling about this. Just then, a beam of water erupted from the stadium, the waves violently crashing against the ship. “I’m gonna get sick,” Taiki belched. Trident suddenly changed its height, as Pegasus dived in for another blow. This time, only the driver got attacked. “Gah!” Paris couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “The secret’s in the spring,” Toko winked. “And the secret to winning isn’t to be caught off-guard.” “Huh?” Paris gazed at him cluelessly. “Now Trident! Final Flash Sting!” Trident’s layer scaled down to its usual height, with Pegasus uppercutting its driver. A large crunching sound was followed by Pegasus bursting into three parts. “Take on Achilles!” Aiga challenged, as Paris seated himself on a bench. “And Theseus!” “Don’t forget Centurion!” Paris smiled at Pegasus, “I’m sorry buddy. I shouldn-“ He paused, then shook his head. “No, we’ll try harder!” By the time he refocused his attention to the stadium, Theseus had already burst. Achilles clawed at Trident from one side, Centurion on the other. “Let’s go Centurion! Burst Strike!” Charles commanded. Ultra Centurion, like an arrow, struck Trident, knocking it backward, hurtling off the stadium and spinning mid-air. “Final Flash Sting!” Trident’s trajectory changed, as it sneakily landed onto the side of Centurion’s layer, grabbing ahold of it. Trident lowered its height and tossed Ultra Centurion into the air. “It’s not over!” Charles shouted. Centurion landed near Achilles, as it accidentally burst upon impact. “Sorry Charles!” Aiga said. “It’s fine,” he laughed it off. “You got revenge at least.” Aiga nodded, returning his attention to the battle. Trident and Cho-Z Achilles clashed in the middle of the stadium. “Super Z Shoot!” Achilles, with a red trail behind it, warped into Trident. “Flash Counter!” Trident’s height decreased, giving it a greater amount of speed. Both beys clashed again as both flung out of the stadium. “Good match!” Toko panted. “Y-yeah. Good match,” Aiga was just as exhausted. Paris checked his pockets and saw a dusty photo of him and his father. He hadn’t seen him since he was five. As the owner of the WBBA, Gingka was pretty busy. He noticed the ship docking back at the pier. It had started to rain, thankfully. Toko waved the four goodbye. Taiki hopped out first, then Aiga, then Charles, fist-bumping Toko. “Let’s decide the better blader tomorrow, yeah?” Paris smiled, “Yeah.” Toko fell backwards, as Paris gasped. Giving him a thumbs-up, Toko completely submerged himself underwater. Paris arrived home. The place just felt empty. Bellyflopping onto the couch, he opened his TV, broadcasting his favourite channel. “Ladies and gentlemen! The District Tournament is soon coming to an end! Tomorrow we have Paris vs Toko, and the winner will face Daniel Aziel! Not to mention, of course, the winner of that will have the chance to face Roan and Revenge!” The screen displayed numerous occasions of other bladers bursting against Smash Revenge. “He’s that strong?” Paris wondered. He held his launcher outward. “We’re gonna show Toko who’s boss!” Chapter 6 - Vortex! Flash Trident! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero, Paris and the BeyClub head to the beach! After encountering Toko, Valt’s younger brother, the crew prepare for the electrifying match! “Ladies and gentlemen! Today we have two famous bladers, going head-to head!” Hanami jumped out of his seat. It was the final match of the quarterfinals, and Daniel had already eliminated all the semi-finalists. Toko emerged from one corner, and Paris spotted Valt, next to Roan. In one corner, an unimpressed blader folded his arms. “Hope you’re ready,” Toko smiled. “You bet I am! All this hard work better pay off!” “First battle!” The referee called. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris jumped and spun mid-air. “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus took the first blood, by pouncing onto Trident, which shifted away, entering the ‘attack zone.’ “Now Pegasus! After it!” Paris curled his fists, punching the air. As Trident attempted to escape, Pegasus blocked each try. “That’s like the Flash Launch,” Toko pointed out. “Another reason to believe you and Valt are alike.” Paris quickly ingested the comment, as Pegasus swarmed Flash Trident with an endless amount of attacks. “But let’s see if you can get through this! Trident, use your Final Flash Strike!” Trident’s avatar appeared, the spearman wielding a trident. Before Pegasus could deal another devastating blow, Flash Trident extended its driver height. “Not again!” Paris said tensely. Immortal Pegasus, from all sorts of directions, slammed into Trident with incredible amounts of speed. Toko grinned, “A+ for speed. But F- if you can’t take on this!” Trident proceeded to lower its height. Within seconds, Paris knew what would happen. The sound of a bursting bey lingered in his mind. Immortal Pegasus’ speed backfired. It travelled around the stadium a dozen times, before crashing into the wall, losing one click. Pegasus quivered, and scraped among the stadium’s surface. “No! Pegasus!” Paris hollered. Before it could capsize fully, it tilted on the back of its layer, like a wheel. Flash Trident pinned Pegasus down, attempting to compress the bey. With Pegasus sideways, it was almost impossible to change Trident’s height. Aiga, Taiki and Charles all had trouble deciding who to vote for. Same scenario with Valt, as Toko was his younger brother. “That was a smart move!” Aiga praised. Taiki seemed confused. “They’re both our friends, how can you cheer for one?” Aiga replied, “Well, I’m not. I’m cheering for both!” Both beys duelled for a prolonged amount of time, until... Flash Trident, when in its taller mode, was prone to recoil. Trident shot out of the stadium and landed at Toko’s feet. “One point to Immortal Pegasus for an Over Finish! The score is now 1-0!” The referee declared. The crowd cheered. “Wow, would you look at that! Paris scores himself a point!” Hanami was easily just as excited. Meanwhile, Daniel made the same bored expression as earlier. Paris figured he’d get along well with Lui. “Second battle!” The referee hosted. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris used his Supernova Shoot. “Let it rip!” Thanks to his special launch, Pegasus made a decent job at maintaining stamina. Flash Trident guarded itself in the middle of the stadium. Immortal Pegasus swarmed it once more with spectacular attacks. Trident refused to budge, as the rubber patches on its layer absorbed each and every one. Flash Trident finished taking on each blow, as it used its energy in an outburst, sniping Pegasus into the wall. It simply shot upward, in time for, “Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus’ avatar appeared, the white divine winged-horse. “Now! Spread your wings Pegasus!” Paris commanded. Immortal Pegasus rained down, showering Trident with a delivery of heavy attacks. Toko shunted his hand forward, “Trident! Flash Counter!” Flash Trident, exiting the middle of the stadium, narrowly avoided slamming into the wall. Instead, it jolted right into Immortal Pegasus. Pegasus rebounded off the wall and made a sudden decrease in stamina. Trident retreated back into the stadium. “Immortal Stormbringer!” Paris exclaimed. Pegasus snaked around Trident a dozen times, forming a ring as it gradually closed, shooting Flash Trident upward. “No!” Toko seemed set back a little, as if he wasn’t expecting it to happen. Trident and Pegasus were both drained of stamina, making the attacks minimal. “Supernova Shoot!” Paris roared. Pegasus was close to bursting, but it managed to pull off a surge of power one last time. Pegasus made its way to Trident, both beys mimicking each other’s movements. “Finish him, Pegasus!” With a tiny ‘clink!’ Trident burst, Pegasus depleted of stamina. The referee pointed to Paris. “Two points to Immortal Pegasus for a Burst Finish! The score is now 3-0, making Paris the winner!” Paris leapt into the air with excitement. “All right!” he celebrated. Toko walked over to Paris, shaking his hand. “Congrats on beating me!” Paris replied, “Let’s battle again sometime!” Meanwhile, the room’s lighting dimmed, as a spotlight fixed on both Paris and Daniel. “Ladies and gentlemen! The next match will be an intense one, the final match of the Semi-Finals will be Paris against Daniel!” Daniel walked out of the building. “That dude’s got sass,” Taiki commented. Paris glanced at Pegasus, glimmering under the lights. “We’ve made it this far. No holding back!” Chapter 7 - The BeyFestival! The Z5 Awaken! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris defeats Toko thanks to his training and earns himself a spot against Daniel Aziel! But only one can come out on top! “Agh! Why isn’t this working?” Paris whined. Immortal Pegasus bumpily cycled around the stadium, crashing into Ultra Centurion and bursting. Taiki and Charles stifled a laugh. “It isn’t funny!” Paris snapped. “Geez, no need to get worked up over Daniel! It’ll be a piece of cake!” Aiga patted him on the shoulder. Paris still wasn’t convinced. The video of Havoc Daemon sinking its wings into a hundred other beys replayed in his head. “Up for special training, then?” Toko held out his launcher. Paris smirked, “You bet!” All five bladers stood diagonally to each other, at one corner of the stadium. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Adamantine Theseus chased after Pegasus endlessly. Taiki boomed, “Don’t let him get away! Adamantine Blade!” Theseus’ avatar sliced in unison with its bey. One of its blades lit up as it tossed Pegasus into the air like a boomerang. Fortunately, it slammed into the wall and launched off, leaving a vibrant blue trail. “Supernova Shoot!” Paris thundered, his voice echoing. Adamantine Theseus barely budged, thanks to its heavy weight. Then, that’s when it became a battle of smarts. Immortal Pegasus jolted through the stadium, swiftly making its way across multiple times. With each lap, it gained speed, stamina and momentum. Theseus blocked Pegasus from gaining anymore endurance. “Not on my watch! Stop him, Theseus!” Taiki bellowed. Although Adamantine Theseus was unable to be flung into the air, Pegasus drilled through it, shunting into the attack type. Meanwhile, Cho-Z Achilles was eager to join the fight. It switched from defense to attack mode, and surged through the stadium. “Hope this works,” Paris mumbled. “What works?” Taiki asked. “This!” Pegasus left Theseus close to the edge of the arena, where Achilles pummeled through the attack type, bursting it. “Gah!” Taiki widened his eyes in surprise. Then, Achilles pressed into Pegasus, knocking it back. Flash Trident made its move. The stamina type was in its taller height, as it bolted into Pegasus. “Now! Final Flash Sting!” Toko exclaimed. Trident compressed its driver into its lower height, sinking its layer into Pegasus’ wings. An idea suddenly sparked into Paris’ head. “All yours, Pegasus! Again, Supernova Shoot!” Immortal Pegasus tilted sideways, preventing Trident from changing its height, whilst hurtling it into the centre of the stadium. Pegasus finally let go, and used its Dead Gravity-like move. “Take this! Immortal Stormbringer!” Paris’ lightning-shaped necklace glowed. Flash Trident was constantly battered with a string of heavy attacks, as a ring formed around it. The ring wrapped around the stamina type, constricting it until it shot into the air and burst. Toko was left speechless. Centurion and Achilles made its way back into the centre of the stadium, driving their blades into Pegasus’ layer. Eventually, Pegasus lost a click. “Super Z Slash!” Aiga roared, as a whip formed around Achilles’ blades. Charles grinned, “Burst Strike!” Centurion, like a wind-up toy, shot through Pegasus from the other direction. With both Achilles and Centurion clawing through the attack type, it exploded into three parts. “N-not again!” Paris gulped. He quickly reassembled Pegasus together. Studying the battle, Ultra Centurion used its Omni Attack and burst Cho-Z Achilles, much to Aiga’s sorrow. In defeat, Paris curled his fingers around Pegasus. Aiga, Charles, Taiki and Toko ran up to the boy. “Y’know something special about you? You keep getting up after a loss!” Aiga said sympathetically. The others nodded in unison. “You’ve made me realise the importance of trying!” Taiki smiled cheerfully. “Thanks to you!” Paris looked up at his friends. “That’s not all! Without you, I would’ve never been able to learn that it’s not all about winning!” Toko stepped in, and fixed his attention onto Flash Trident. “Sometimes.. sometimes when Valt isn’t home, somebody’s gotta fill in his role for me. And I think you’ve done your part, Paris.” Hearing those kind words almost melted Paris. He confidently stood up, and brushed himself off. “You’re right! And thanks to you guys, and you too, Pegasus, I would’ve never made it this far!” He triumphantly raised Pegasus to the sky. Suddenly, a figure appeared. “Roan..” Paris muttered under his breath. The others were thinking the exact same thing. Roan wore black sneakers, dark blue jeans, curly brown hair and a neatly zipped up blue coat, without a single crease. He managed to pull off a simple look well. He held five invitations in cream white paper, tied together with a red velvet ribbon. "Hey,” Roan said. “The BeyFestival’s today, and I’d like to invite you all.” Suddenly, Paris was bursting with joy. “Really?” He pinched himself multiple times. “Of course!” Roan smiled. “You guys are proving yourself as pretty strong.” Before Paris could respond, Roan had already left. The invitations were thrown into the air. Catching one, in big bold letters, read: ‘The BeyFestival is now on! You’ve been formally invited by one of the Z5 to participate in the battles that will be taking place today!’ “Awesome!” Paris burst in excitement. “Can’t wait to meet the Z5!” A few hours passed, and Paris found himself engulfed through a large crowd. He didn’t think the BeyFestival would be that busy. Roan stood on the stage, completely demolishing another blader. Still, he showed chivalry. “Who’s next?” He repeated. After the next dozen or so battles, Roan waved at the BeyClub. “Ah! Glad you could make it today!” He caught his bey, Smash Revenge, in his hand instantly. The BeyClub were speechless from what they were seeing - hundreds of stadiums spread across the ground, and the massive food court located at the front. Taiki and Aiga happily bounced off to the food court, ready to binge on Beigoma’s best burgers. Meanwhile, Toko and Charles went off to battle on the beach. Before Paris could join his friends, Roan quickly stopped him. “Oh, and before you go,” he said, “Make sure you win that battle. Because I look forward to battling you.” Paris give him a thumbs-up in response and found himself lost in the food court. “Paris!” Aiga waved, as he sat down next to Taiki. The three chowed down on the mightiest cheeseburger you could’ve ever seen, and having a good time. Twenty minutes later, Roan spoke into the microphone. “Ladies and gentlemen, today I’d like to welcome you all to the BeyFestival!” The crowd cheered in response. “That’s great to hear! Now, I’d like to introduce you to the Z5!” A yellow-haired bladed with a streak of red appeared. “Free de La Hoya!” Roan announced. “Lui Shirosagi!” He added. “Shu Kurenai!” Roan introduced. “Me of course!” He joked. Paris knew these bladers. All three of them had a major impact on Valt’s beyblading career. “That’s how he got to where he is today,” Toko said, running over. “And, Xhan Bogard!" Roan exclaimed excitedly. The four bladers came forward. “Now, we five bladers are the Z5! The strongest in the world, underneath the champion, of course,” Roan smiled. “I’d like to introduce my guests, the new Beigoma Academy BeyClub.” Paris, Toko, Charles, Aiga and Taiki stood on stage. “Well, how about a battle?” Roan offered. The five bladers held out their launchers, as Roan revealed Smash Revenge. Chapter 8 - Demolition! Havoc Daemon! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris and the crew hold a Battle Royale against Roan! Paris manages to hold his own but ultimately loses! “You stand no chance at defeating me!” Daniel’s voice echoed in Paris’ head. Immortal Pegasus was thrown out of the stadium by Ultra Centurion. “You okay?” Charles asked. Paris nodded, unzoned. Toko, Jamie and Nika were watching amongst the sidelines. The blue-haired boy held out his tablet. “Havoc Daemon’s an Attack Type,” he said. “We’ve got our fair share of attack types here.” Toko gently placed his device on the seat and leapt. “Where are you going?” Nika questioned. “To help Paris,” he replied. Paris wasn’t doing so good himself. “No, not like that! To beat Daniel, you’re gonna need to use attack back at him!” Aiga snapped. Taiki and Toko joined the group, holding out their launchers. Aiga set Achilles into Attack Mode. “Ready, set!” Jamie exclaimed. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Ultra Centurion and Cho-Z Achilles from either side stung Pegasus, knocking it back. “H-hold on Pegasus! Supernova Shoot!” Paris cried. Immortal Pegasus surged through the stadium, slashing right through Flash Trident. The Stamina Type exploded instantly. “Look at Pegasus go!” Jamie noticed. The two balance types came crashing from either side. “Go! Super Z Slash!” Aiga commanded. “Use your Burst Strike!” Charles added. With a major explosion, Pegasus was thrown into the air. Then... The attack-type bey plummeted to the stadium floor, given a drastic boost of power. “Go! Full power!” Paris called out. Adamantine Theseus appeared. “Not on my watch! Adamantine Blade!” Taiki boomed. Theseus’ blades lit up in unison. With a devastating swipe, Pegasus seemed unharmed. “Finish him!” Paris shouted. Immortal Pegasus drilled through Theseus, bursting it. “That makes two bursts,” Nika gasped. Achilles and Centurion once again came running from either direction, however the attack type managed to intercept the two beys. Nevertheless, Achilles changed its trajectory, advancing into Pegasus. “Go now Achilles!” Aiga roared. “Centurion!” Charles thundered. The three beys collided in unison, as Pegasus split into three parts. Centurion and Achilles were still intact. “That makes me feel much better about losing to you,” Charles said. Jamie waved her hand to her brother and Aiga. “Two points for a Burst Finish.” “Hey, I won that!” Aiga bickered. “No! I did!” Charles disagreed. Whilst Aiga and Charles were arguing, Paris took Inmortal Pegasus. “Let’s do our best today against Daemon.” Two hours later, the BeyClub had arrived at the tournament building. “Ladies and gentlemen! I welcome you to a highly anticipated match between Daniel Aziel and Paris Hagane!” The crowd cheered. “A crowd favourite, and our underdog, Paris Hagane!” Paris emerged from a door, with several flashing lights fixed on him. “And the Dragon Master will be his opponent! Hold your applause for Daniel Aziel!” Daniel proceeded toward the stadium, stomping fiercely. “Hope you heard what I said yesterday,” Daniel chuckled, “Never in a million years can you beat me!” Paris clenched his fists. He felt as if his face were on fire. Roan watched from an overhead gallery, smiling at the amber-haired boy. “Alright,” Paris closed his eyes. “We can do this.” Daniel presented Havoc Daemon. It had a diamond shaped layer with a spring-loaded wing on each side. A horned, dragon-like face was staring into Paris’ soul. The disc was 13, and the driver was called Demolish. Demolish consisted of a hexagon-shaped spring loaded rubber flat. The tip was red, whilst the majority of the driver was black. Paris pictured Immortal Pegasus being split in half by Havoc Daemon. He quickly snapped out of it. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus shot right through Havoc Daemon, who charged around the outer line on the stadium. “Let’s do this Pegasus! Supernova Shoot!” Pegasus’ avatar appeared, as Immortal Pegasus jolted. “Havoc Daemon. Dodge him,” Daniel said, boredly. Pegasus instead slammed into the wall, losing a quarter of its endurance. Paris was persistent as ever. “Now Pegasus! Immortal Stormbringer!” Daemon was caught inside the vortex. “That all you got? You’re in for disappointment,” Daniel blurted. Havoc Daemon beamed through, breaking Pegasus’ barrier. “Finish him!” Daniel roared. “Rebound Uppercut!” Daemon’s spring-loaded wings fired Immortal Pegasus into the wall. Havoc Daemon was in hot pursuit, as it ruthlessly slashed Pegasus upward, bursting it immediately. Chapter 9 - Going All Out! Immortal Slash! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Daniel and Paris face off in the Semi-Finals! After holding his own, Daniel gets the first two points! “Two points to Havoc Daemon for a Burst Finish,” the referee declared. The BeyClub trembled with fear from the sidelines. The entire building transformed into an empty, white abyss. A white winged-horse made an obvious galloping sound. “Pegasus? Is that you?” Paris called out. Surely enough, it was. The divine horse sparkled, almost camouflaging in the blank landscape. Pegasus didn’t say anything, however. A bubble hovered above the amber-haired boy’s head. Inside, Paris’ debuting battle with Valt repeated. Then, another bubble appeared. “That’s my battle with Aiga!” Paris exclaimed excitedly. He spotted his battle with Taiki, Toko and Charles. “What’s this for?” Although Paris enjoyed the memories, he didn’t understand. “Do you see how far you’ve made it?” Pegasus asked. “You’ve battled and trained with the same mindset as Valt Aoi. You’re getting stronger by the second,” Pegasus added. Paris searched through his pockets and pulled out Immortal Pegasus, glancing down at it. “Alright! We can do it!” Just then, the landscape dissolved. Pegasus was no longer in front of him, and instead was Daniel. “Ready for round two? Because I’m ready to demolish you!” The referee started. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus swung its feathers into Havoc Daemon, scraping the stadium floor. “What?” Daniel grit his teeth. Pegasus spun smoothly, as Daemon swiftly recovered. “Alright! Let’s do this- Supernova Shoot!” The attack type performed its usual, shooting right through Havoc Daemon. “What an amateur move!” Daniel snarled. “Say goodnight. Rebirth Dive!” Just then, Havoc Daemon moved itself into the wall, self-flinging itself into the air. “Is he forfeiting?” Aiga questioned. Daemon still spun perfectly, although it took a critical hit from the wall. Paris recalled Daniel’s launch. It was fairly similar to Lui’s. Daniel leapt into the air and danced like a tornado, firing Daemon down. Thanks to Rebirth Dive, Havoc Daemon jolted down from the exact same angle, as if it were relaunched. With intense speed, Immortal Pegasus snaked around the outer rim of the stadium, but Daemon sank its fangs, tossing the attack type out of the stadium... Or so everyone thought. Pegasus hit the edge of the stadium wall and shot upward, then spiralled downward, almost replicating Daniel’s move. “Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris boomed. With such amazing speed, Immortal Pegasus blasted through Daemon, knocking both beys back. “Paris is putting up a good fight!” Toko exclaimed from the sidelines. The two attack types orbited around each other, dealing minimal attacks. Daniel clenched his fists. “Grrr! That’s enough!” He pointed daringly toward Paris. “I’ve trained with the best! Lui Shirasagi and my brother, Gabriel! And I’m not throwing it away!” Paris pictured Daniel climbing a mountain whilst Lui stood on top, bawling in laughter. “I’m not giving up either!” Paris exclaimed. “Go! Immortal Stormbringer!” Pegasus flashed around the outer area of the stadium, boosting its endurance and speed drastically. It returned to the middle of the stadium, and constricted Daemon. “You can do it!” Roan yelled from the side. He folded his arms as he’d usually do, but he was absorbed by the battle. Havoc Daemon levitated, and returned to the stadium’s surface. Something felt off... Toko fidgeted with his tablet. “Look! Havoc Daemon is retracting into the Demolish driver!” Toko was right; Daemon pushed into its driver. “Copycat of Free much?” Taiki whispered. “Arghhhh! Now!” Daniel’s eyes glowed a merciless red. “Demolish Break!” Paris knew this was the endgame. Immortal Pegasus trembled in fear in perfect sync with Paris, shaking uncontrollably. Paris’ two weeks worth of experience, training and battles went into his final attack. “Haaaah! Immortal Slash!” Paris shouted, his voice echoing through the hall. Daniel’s eyes widened. The BeyClub was just as surprised. One of Pegasus’ three feathers lit up, and beamed through Daemon. Both beys flung into the air and burst in unison. The six parts littered the stadium floor. “Simultaneous Burst Finish! No points!” The referee announced. “Wow, would you look at that! The second round ends in an intense tie! What will happen next?” Hanami said in his microphone. Daniel silently picked up Daemon and reassembled it, the same with Paris. Daniel growled, “So, you’re slowly proving yourself as strong! I don’t care! I will put you in your place! And the funny thing is... I haven’t used my full power!” Chapter 10 - The Winner’s Coronation! Pegasus vs Daemon! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade. Burst Zero! The clash between Paris and Daniel continues, as they battle it out! With the support of Pegasus, they discover their true potential! “You mean to tell me.. this whole time, you haven’t been trying?” Paris felt as if Daniel launched Daemon into his stomach. Another laugh broke out from the boy with red spiky hair. “You think I’d seriously use my full power on someone like you?” Paris tensely wrapped his fingers around Pegasus. Daniel briefly glanced at Roan, “That’s what bladers like him are for.” The referee pointed to the stadium. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus warped through the outer ring of the stadium, outclassing Havoc Daemon in speed. “What?” Daniel grit his teeth. Immortal Pegasus made a sudden stop, and charged right through Havoc Daemon, the two attack types clashing. Light and wind shot through the stadium as Pegasus couldn’t withstand the intensity. It slid into the stadium wall and rebounded off, with miraculous speed. “Go now Pegasus! Show ‘em our Supernova Shoot!” Immortal Pegasus glowed, racing through the stadium. Pegasus’ speed was too much for Daemon as the dark bey was flung into the air. Daniel didn’t display a single hint of perturbation, because he grinned menacingly. “Rebirth Dive!” His voice echoed through the stadium, as Havoc Daemon arrowed downward, arriving onto the stadium’s surface. Daemon blasted through Immortal Pegasus, its spring loaded wings gripping on. “You survived round one. Let’s see if you can take round two!” Daniel boomed. Immortal Pegasus was thrown into the stadium wall and back into the air by Daemon. “You can do it, Pegasus! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus performed the usual. It rained down onto Daemon, who steadily spun the other way. “Starblast Attack didn’t bring Daemon into the air?” Aiga widened his eyes. Daniel clenched his fists, the veins appearing throughout his skin. “Why don’t you take on this? Demolish Break!” he snapped. As Pegasus rode around the arena in a flower-pattern, Daemon retracted into its driver, Demolish, thus giving it a surge of speed. Like lightning, too fast to be seen, Havoc Daemon jolted around the stadium, aligning perfectly with the ring that snaked through the stadium. “Haaaah!” Daniel roared, as Daemon crashed heavily into Immortal Pegasus. Pegasus was trying its best not to fling into the wall. Paris said confidently, “Immortal Slash!” Pegasus’ feathers lit up, as it whipped through Daemon, both beys getting knocked back. Daemon and Pegasus had little to no stamina left. Paris thought of a risky move - one that would get Pegasus to Burst, or one that would snag themselves a point. Paris hoped it was the latter. Immortal Pegasus’ feathers lit up again. “Take him down! Immortal Slash!” The crowd were shocked. Especially Daniel. Pegasus used its special move once more, and managed to throw Havoc Daemon out of the stadium, landing at Daniel’s feet. “One point to Immortal Pegasus for an Over Finish! The score is now 2-1!” The referee announced. Daniel gasped, then frowned. “So what if you’re a worthy opponent? I’ll destroy you nonetheless!” Paris was the definition of excitement. He leapt into the air, and smiled cheerfully. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Havoc Daemon glowed up immediately. “I’ll put everything I have into this attack! Rebound Uppercut!” Its four spring loaded wings uppercutted Immortal Pegasus into the air, slamming it into the stadium wall. Havoc Daemon pursued Pegasus, flipping it up, rocketing the opposing attack type into the air. With one click gone, Immortal Pegasus made a solid recovery. “Now! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris exclaimed. Pegasus beamed onto Havoc Daemon, knocking both beys back. “Crush him, Daemon! Demolish Break!” Daemon retracted onto its Demolish driver, flashing around the arena. Then, Pegasus lit up its feathers. “Immortal Slash!” Both beys drilled into each other, pressing endlessly. With three clicks gone from the two attack types, they suddenly burst. “Simultaneous Burst Finish! No points!” The referee declared. The next few battles were just the same, Pegasus using Immortal Slash and Daemon with Demolish Break. Aiga, Toko, Taiki and Charles were all held to their seats. Even Roan never heard of such a move. “Tenth battle!” The referee said. “Twentieth battle!” “Fiftieth battle!” “Seventieth battle!” Paris was exhausted from seventy-four battles. He wiped sweat from his face. “Seventy-fifth battle!” The referee was clearly out of breath from announcing seventy five battles. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Daniel howled in pain. His brother, Gabriel, leapt out of his seat and proceeded toward the stadium. Both Pegasus and Daemon were flung into the air and burst. “Stop! Stop the battle!” Gabriel shouted. His brother looked much like Daniel. He picked up the three pieces to Havoc Daemon. “Daniel Aziel forfeits the battle!” Gabriel announced. Daniel turned to Gabriel. “W-what?” It was clear that Gabriel and Daniel respected each other greatly. Gabriel led Daniel off the stage and just like that, the battle ended.. “I’ll get you next time, Paris,” Daniel growled. Chapter 11 - Burn! Torch Ragnaruk! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris holds his own against Daniel after seventy-five battles, and surprisingly, the dragon blader forfeits! Paris leaned against the railing that curved around Beigoma Academy’s rooftop. His blue jacket and orange shirt rippled in the wind. The afternoon breeze was soothing, much to Paris’ liking, after the exhausting morning he encountered. “Oh, come on!” Taiki screamed in frustration. “Why can’t I beat you?” The Crimson Nova retorted, “Because you can’t!” Whilst those two bickered, Paris chuckled slightly. Charles walked over to him with a bottle of water. “Here, I figured you’d need it.” “Thanks.” Paris chugged more than half of the bottle, and sighed. “Hm?” Charles raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?” Although Paris would’ve liked to say nothing, Charles was a good listener. “Just today’s battle. It was really unexpected,” Paris informed. Charles nodded. “I expect the unexpected. Sort of my precept now.” Paris shrugged. “I guess, but still. I technically didn’t beat him.” Charles stood up. “Paris. I understand you’re shocked, and so am I. You’ve only been blading for two weeks, so you’re more than likely to meet aliens, possessed people and people who shout too much.” “What?” Taiki yelled. Paris giggled at the thought of that. It never really occurred to him that these things happened. “Gee, I sound like a teacher,” Charles said. “Mhm,” Paris agreed, “But it’s nice having someone to talk to. I appreciate it.” Meanwhile, Toko had managed to rocket Theseus out of the stadium. The attack type bounced along the tiles of the rooftop, eventually exiting through the stairwell. “Ahh! No!” Taiki shouted, as he bolted after his bey. The sound of clinking stopped. Stopped by something.. or worse.. someone. Taiki backed away in fear as they hid behind Paris. “Why am I your guard?” Paris scowled. Suddenly, the person who held Theseus walked up the stairs. “Hahaha! You should’ve seen your faces! Priceless!” The voice laughed, as he handed Taiki his Adamantine Theseus. Toko’s face immediately lit up as soon as he recognized the figure. “R-R-Ryota?” “That’s right! Ryota Kurogami!” Oddly, on one of his hands were a puppet, probably for ventriloquism. “Who’s Ryota?” Aiga asked. “I’m Daigo’s brother. Rantaro sadly quit Beyblade, so he handed me his Blaze Ragnaruk.” Taiki stifled a laugh. “So your bey is Blaze Ragnaruk?” “Nope! Torch Ragnaruk!” Ryota smiled. Ryota recounted on how Rantaro had entrusted him with Torch Ragnaruk. He sort of looked up to him as a mentor almost as much as Ken or Daigo. “So, Paris,” Ryota cleared his voice, “You’re up against Roan tomorrow?” Paris nodded. “It’s gonna be hard.” “Don’t say that!” Ryota snapped. “It’s gonna be a tough one, yeah, but you’re gonna have heaps of fun!” Paris smiled. “You’re right. Thanks.” “I like this new guy,” Taiki added. “Welcome to the BeyClub,” Aiga introduced everyone. “Thanks guys!” Somebody was talking, with a brash voice. It wasn’t Ryota, but instead, his puppets. Inside one of the puppet’s mouths was a bey. Ryota grabbed it and revealed it to the BeyClub. “This is Torch Ragnaruk,” he said. Torch Ragnaruk had the usual Ragnaruk design, however there were two large curves on its layer with a slit with two rugged plastic wings on each one. On the side of the layer were two extra metal wings, stabilising the bey. The disc was 21, which was triangular shaped and had 7 protrusions on each side. The frame, Armor, had an eight bladed free-spinning ring, whilst the driver, Propeller, was a mix of Revolve and Flugel, except the spikes were able to move. “Cool!” Paris exclaimed. “And this is Immortal Pegasus. Let’s battle!” Toko said, “Uh, Paris, if you can’t beat the BeyClub all at once, then you have zero chance against Roan.” Paris nodded. “Okay, then. How about you Ryota?” “I’ll sit this one out,” he replied. The five bladers stood around the colossal stadium and prepared their launchers. “Ready, set!” Ryota hosted. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” All four beys charged at Immortal Pegasus at once, flinging it into the air. Fortunately, Pegasus gilded downward. “My turn! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris exclaimed, as Pegasus’ avatar shot a beam of lightning from its horn. Immortal Pegasus landed on the stadium’s surface, shifting its weight in front. “Again! Supernova Shoot!” Paris shouted, as Pegasus charged through all four beys, dust covering the entire arena. As soon as the dust cleared, the entire BeyClub was in utter shock. “What?” They cried in unison, as Paris leapt into the air in joy. All four beys had come apart, immediately burst. Ryota shot Paris a thumbs up as he hopped off the bench. “Nice job,” Ryota praised. “But you’re gonna have to take me down!” Paris smiled, “You’re on!” Even after seventy-five battles, a battle royale and another challenge, he’d barely broken a sweat. Ryota held his launcher out. “Torch Ragnaruk will take you down!” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Torch Ragnaruk held its ground in the center, as Pegasus came rushing. “Immortal Slash!” Paris commanded, as Ragnaruk was thrown into the air, landing at Ryota’s feet. “One point for an Over Finish,” Aiga announced. Ryota smiled. “Gotta hand it to you, that was impressive. Keep it up in your battle and you’ll win for sure!” Paris liked hearing the word ‘win.’ “Sure thing!” He said, preparing for round two. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” The start of the second battle was a repeat of the first. Pegasus dived in, one of its three feathers glowing. “Immortal Slash!” Immortal Pegasus charged at high speeds, and before it could obliterate Ragnaruk, Ryota shouted: “Go! Torch Hurricane!” A vortex formed around Ragnaruk as Pegasus was thrown off tracks. It slammed into the stadium’s walls, being drained of stamina. Then, like a black hole, Ragnaruk drew Pegasus closer and closer to the vortex. “No! Hold on Pegasus!” Paris commanded. But it was clearly too late. Pegasus entered Ragnaruk’s maelstrom and shot into the air, landing at Paris’ feet. “One point for an Over Finish,” Aiga announced. “The score’s 1-1.” Then the third round came along. “Let it rip!” The two bladers cried in unison, as this time, Paris wasn’t holding back. “Supernova Shoot!” Paris immediately shouted, as the winged-horse beamed through Ragnaruk, knocking it back. Paris wiped a trickle of sweat from his forehead. “That’s not everything I have! Immortal Slash!” Paris put his full power into this final attack. Pegasus rode over to Ragnaruk and before it could deal its attack, Ryota shouted: “End this! True Ragnaruk Storm!” Ragnaruk’s vortex returned, however instead of retreating to the middle of the stadium, it charged right through Pegasus, tilting on its Propeller driver. “Go!” Ryota and Paris shouted in unison, as Pegasus and Ragnaruk collided, dust and light expelling from the stadium. After the dust had cleared, Immortal Pegasus lay lifeless on the stadium’s floor. Ragnaruk remained spinning smoothly. “One point to Torch Ragnaruk for a Spin Finish. The score is 2-1!” Aiga exclaimed. “Ryota wins the battle,” Charles added. “Oh man!” Paris fell to the floor with his hands over his head. A few hours later, everyone had gathered at their favourite building. “Ladies and gentlemen! We welcome you to a battle that’s going to break many records! In our red corner, we have Roan Jamieson!” Hanami announced. Roan entered from one door. He proudly waved to the crowd. “And in the blue corner, we have Paris Hagane!” Hanami shouted. Paris took multiple deep breaths and gulped. “I’m ready,” he said, as Roan and Paris both stood parallel to each other on either end of the stadium. Chapter 12 - Final Battle! Pegasus vs Revenge Part 1! Spoiler (Click to View)
Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris and the crew start training, when they are suddenly approached by Daigo’s brother, Ryota! “I’m ready,” said Paris, glancing down at Pegasus. He scanned the crowd and to his right was the BeyClub. “Paris! Paris! Paris!” They chanted his name. Roan chuckled. “Well, it looks like the crowd really does like you.” Paris grinned, “I’m just excited to battle you today.” “First Battle!” The referee announced. “This is a three point match!” “Ready, set!” Roan and Paris held their launchers out. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Both bladers cried in unison. The two attack types zoomed through the stadium, loudly booming. “Go, finish him!” They said together, as Smash Revenge and Immortal Pegasus collided, a massive explosion following. Revenge quickly overpowered Pegasus as it was knocked back. Smash Revenge chased after it at incredible speeds. “Now!” Roan called out, his hair sparkling under the spotlight. “Upper Smash Break!” Paris gulped. He expected Roan to pull of some kind of move, but not something as farfetched at this. Smash Revenge drilled into Pegasus and slammed it into the stadium, warping through the outer area and repeating the process. Pegasus quickly lost a click and as a result, it flung into the air. “Not on my watch! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris yelled. Pegasus’ avatar appeared as its horn fired a cosmic beam. Immortal Pegasus flew down, crushing through Smash Revenge. Roan gasped, as Revenge was pushed back. Both beys continued to warp around each other, waiting for the other to make their move. “I’ll win this!” Paris exclaimed. “Immortal Stormbringer!” Paris used its cosmic maelstrom, as a barrier appeared around Smash Revenge, trapping it. Pegasus fired a string of chain attacks, as Revenge attempted to escape. “End of the line, ‘champ! Smash Counter!” Roan’s voice echoed through the halls. Smash Counter instantly clashed with Immortal Stormbringer as Revenge glowed up, breaking free from the vortex. “What?” Paris said, surprisedly. “That’s not all!” Roan grinned. Revenge’s Smash Counter, in addition to cancelling Immortal Stormbringer, penetrated through Pegasus. Immortal Pegasus was thrown off track but still proceeded to bolt at full speed. “Immortal Slash!” Paris roared. “Super Revenge Slash!” Roan thundered. Both beys lit up with a whip forming around the bey’s side, slashing furiously at each other. Pegasus was unable to cope with Revenge’s intensity as it landed onto the stadium wall and burst, shooting through the air. The attack-type’s three pieces landed into Paris’ hand. “That’s a Burst Finish! Two points to Smash Revenge! The score is now 2-0!” The referee declared. The BeyClub weren’t in a good mood. Suddenly, Aiga leapt out of his seat and his voice exploded, “COME ON PARIS! YOU CAN DO IT!” Paris, confused, turned behind him only to see Aiga chant his name. “Paris!” He said, melodically as eventually, the entire BeyClub joined in. Soon enough, half of the hundreds of viewers were cheering for him. Paris rubbed his eyes, and smiled. “Alright, Roan! That’s not all I have, and I’m about to show you in the next battle!” Roan burst with joy. “No holding back this time, ‘kay? You can do better than this.” Paris nodded, glancing down at Pegasus. “And I’ll do it with you too.” The referee pulled his hand, calling the second battle. “Ready, set!” Paris held his launcher with all his strength, the power of Pegasus flowing through his hands. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Paris leapt into the air. “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus instantly swung its feathers into Smash Revenge, drawing the first clash of the battle. “Come on! Supernova Shoot!” Paris shouted, as Pegasus ravaged through Revenge, knocking it into the outer ring of the arena. Roan laughed. “You’ll have to try harder! Now, Smash Counter!” Paris embraced the unexpected, like Charles said to do. Smash Revenge tilted on its driver and shot through Pegasus, piercing through its layer. “No! Hold on Pegasus! Paris cried. Immortal Pegasus was effortlessly tossed into the air, and at a miraculous speed, it spiralled downward. “Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris commanded. Pegasus blasted through Smash Revenge. “Finish him! Immortal Slash!” Roan wagged his finger. “Don’t forget! Super Revenge Slash!” Both attack types hacked through each other, as light expelled from the stadium, flinging both beys into the air. “I know you can do it,” Aiga muttered under his breath. Suddenly, Revenge touched the floor of the stadium first, landing at Roan’s feet. “One point to Immortal Pegasus for an Over Finish! The score is now 2-1!” The referee announced. A brief moment after, Pegasus landed at Paris’ feet. Paris collected Pegasus and raised it to the air. “Alright! We did it! We did it!” Roan grinned, “Congratulations. You’ve gotten stronger from the first day you challenged Valt Aoi. But don’t start celebrating now.” “Huh?” Paris asked. “Because this is only the beginning,” Roan said. Chapter 13 - Final Battle! The boy stopped once he was at the exiting ramp, and allowed Pegasus’ power to flow into his hands once more. “I’m ready,” he said, with a confident voice. “You better be, because I’m not holding back any longer,” Roan responded, truthfully. The referee placed his hand and called for the third battle. “Ready, set!” “Three!” Paris sprinted toward the stadium. “Two!” He rocketed into the air, his legs like springs. “One!” The boy spun around like a mini-tornado. “Let it rip!” The two bladers cried in unison. Smash Revenge and Immortal Pegasus mimicked each others movements as they surged through the stadium. “Go now Pegasus! Take him down!” Paris called, as Pegasus was about to chop through Revenge, its feathers narrowly missed. “What?” Paris gasped, as Pegasus dived through the center of the stadium. Toko observed his tablet, as the BeyClub leaned in, crowding around him. “Smash Revenge’s height was too tall for Pegasus,” the blue-haired boy informed. Roan smiled, “Show your strength Revenge! Upper Smash Break!” It loomed on the spot and gradually built momentum, charging right through Pegasus. The attack-type bey hit the wall and rebounded at a greater speed than its original. “Don’t give up! Supernova Shoot!” Paris cried. Pegasus shot into the middle of the arena and clashed with Revenge. Replicating the first battle, Immortal Pegasus was flung into the air. “Not on my watch! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Pegasus skydived, aiming for Smash Revenge, however it quickly pulled back, the attacking bey slamming into the wall. Pegasus expended a great amount of stamina and wobbled, heading for the middle of the stadium. Roan projected his voice loudly, “Full power! Super Revenge Slash!” An intimidating beam of red light formed on the bey, as it ran the saber through Pegasus. “Let’s show him our full power! Immortal Slash!” Paris yelled. Pegasus’ avatar appeared, shooting a cosmic beam from its horn. Immortal Pegasus drove its feathers into Smash Revenge as the two powerhouses dueled. Pegasus seemed to have the upper hand as it withstood Revenge’s attacks for longer than it should’ve. Roan’s eyes shook with worry. “No, I can’t lose like this!” His hair suddenly flicked upward, as he shouted, “I won’t lose! My goal is to become the best blader in the world! And I’ll accomplish it!” The amount of sincerity in Roan’s voice made Paris realise the tougher opponents lurking out there. Perhaps a few were scattered around the crowd. Revenge suddenly overpowered Pegasus, sending it into the air as it lost two clicks. “Hold on, buddy!” Paris said. The BeyClub were held to their seats as it was unclear who was going to emerge victorious. Revenge seemed to be running out of stamina. Pegasus and Revenge dived in for another clash, as dust quickly filled the stadium. As soon as the coast was clear, Smash Revenge spun unstably whilst Pegasus spun smoothly. Immortal Pegasus proceeded toward Revenge, as fast as the bey could. “End this, Pegasus!" Those were the last three words from Paris as the stadium shook, Pegasus jabbing its feathers into Smash Revenge. Both attack types were knocked back, as Pegasus dived in for a second round. “Now! End this Revenge!” “Let’s win this, Pegasus!” Pegasus couldn’t handle the pressure any longer, as Revenge surged forward for one final attack. “Your time is up, Paris,” Roan said, “Now! Smash Counter!” With such electrifying force, Revenge ruthlessly launched Pegasus into the air and the following was not what anybody expected. Immortal Pegasus hurtled downward but Revenge pushed forward and glowed. “It’s all over! Triple Smash Brave!” Roan roared. Pegasus fell onto Revenge’s scorching layer and tossed upward, separating into three parts. Immortal Pegasus’ layer, disc and driver fell at poor Paris’ feet. “Two points to Smash Revenge for a Burst Finish! The score is now 4-1; Roan Jamison wins!” Paris fell to his knees as pearls of tears rolled down his cheeks. Roan, sympathetically, walked over to his opponent and offered his hand. “You pushed me to my limits. And that’s something I respect. Let’s battle again sometime, yeah?” Roan smiled. Paris wiped the tears from his eyes and returned to his normal, cheerful self. “Yeah!” He exclaimed. On the journey back home, nobody had said a word until Taiki broke the silence. “What a battle,” he said. “Yeah! It was so awesome! I can’t wait to battle him again!” Paris replied. Taiki glanced over, staring. “Why are you so cheerful all the time?” Paris grinned,” ‘Cuz there’s no reason to be sad. I know Roan’s a strong blader, and I wonder who else is out there.” The National Tournament: Chapters 14 - 28 Spoiler (Click to View) Chapter 14 - The Dark Dragon Rises! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Paris gives it his all, but loses to Roan’s trump card - Triple Smash Brave! “Let it rip!” Paris and Charles cried in unison. Ultra Centurion warped around the center of the stadium, and changed its angle, heading toward Pegasus. “Ultra Revival!” Charles exclaimed as Centurion pummeled Immortal Pegasus, bursting it instantly. “Oh man!” Paris quickly re-assembled his bey. “Up for a second battle?” Ryota, Taiki and Aiga all hovered around Toko’s tablet. “Uh, guys. You might want to check this out,” Toko frowned. A clip automatically started playing, as Hanami spoke into a microphone, “Ladies and gentlemen! It’s been confirmed that Roan and Daniel will have a battle! Any words from you, Daniel?” Daniel soon appeared onto a black background, with some pretty terrifying noises in the far distance. The only thing visible was his gleaming eyes. “Roan, prepare to be crushed.” “And Roan, any words you’d like to share?” Hanami asked. Roan nodded. “I’m going to walk away victorious.” "The tension sure is rising! Stay turned as the battle will commence tonight!” Hanami announced. Toko turned off his device. “I reckon Roan’s going to use Triple Smash Brave again,” Aiga predicted. “Yeah, but will it be enough for Demolish Break?” Taiki responded. Paris looked down at Pegasus. “We’ll see.” A few hours later, the highly anticipated battle was about to begin. “Welcome ladies and gentlemen! We have a battle between some of Japan’s strongest bladers! In our red corner, we have one of our Z5, Roan Jamieson!” Roan, as usual, waved to the crowd as the lights dimmed, the spotlight fixing on him. “And going against him is Daniel Aziel!” Hanami introduced excitedly. The doors opened on Daniel’s side, however nobody initially appeared, before large thumping noises were present. Daniel appeared and marched toward the stadium. “What’s the spotlight for? Weakest blader?” He chuckled. Roan curled his fingers around his launcher. “I’ll let my bey do the talking.” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Smash Revenge and Havoc Daemon shot at each other at full speeds. “Super Revenge Slash!” Daniel commanded. Revenge sunk its blade into one of Daemon’s wings, tossing it into the air. Havoc Daemon hurtled toward Daniel’s unconcerned face, as he shouted, “Go! Rebirth Dive!” Daemon glided swiftly mid-air and shot into the stadium wall, rebounding off and zooming toward Revenge. “Dodge it, Revenge!” Roan yelled as the attack-type surged through the stadium, barely missing Daemon’s attack. “Luck seems to favor you,” Daniel clenched his fists. “But you won’t get so lucky this time. Demolish Break!” Roan roared, “Upper Smash Break!” The two attack-types swirled around each other, eventually breaking their orbits as they slammed into each other. Daemon was knocked back and tilted on its Demolish driver, rushing back at a greater speed. “What?” Roan gasped. “Look at that!” Hanami stated the obvious. “Havoc Daemon makes a solid recovery!” Daniel chuckled. “Lights out! Rebound Uppercut!” His booming voice was projected so loudly it echoed through the entire building. One of Daemon’s four wings lit up as it whipped Revenge into the air. It shot right out of the stadium. “One point to Havoc Daemon for an Over Finish! The score is now 1-0!” The referee announced. Roan retrieved Revenge. “Roan!” Paris exclaimed. “Win this!” The Z5 member gasped as Paris nodded. “Don’t give up!” Roan grinned as he inserted his bey into the launcher. “Playtime’s over. The real fight begins now.” Chapter 15 - The God of Revenge’s Last Stand! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Roan and Daniel go head to head, however the dark dragon won the first round! “Daniel!” Roan shouted. “Let’s do this!” Daniel smirked. “That’s more like it.” The referee called for the second battle. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One! “Let it rip!” Smash Revenge zoomed around the stadium at incredible speeds. “Look at it go!” Paris was in awe. Havoc Daemon performed a flower-pattern movement, and instantly drilled through Revenge. Smash Revenge rolled into the wall, but rebounded at an even greater speed. “You can run, but you can’t hide forever!” Daniel grinned. “Go, Daemon!” Revenge and Daemon pressed into each other, clashing like there was no tomorrow. “Now’s our chance! Smash Counter!” Roan exclaimed. Revenge tilted on its driver, becoming more streamline as it bashed Havoc Daemon. “Tear him to pieces! Demolish Break!” Roan gasped in shock as Daemon paused, compressing into its retractable driver. Smash Revenge jolted away, however Havoc Daemon was right on its tail. “Running so soon? I thought you said it’s just beginning,” Daniel smirked. Eventually, Havoc Daemon hit Smash Revenge, knocking it away. The dark dragon rushed in for a second round, however Roan had enough. “End this Revenge! Upper Smash Break!” An aura rose from Revenge as its speed increased. The bey torpedoed through the center of the stadium. “That’s not all! How’d you like this? Super Revenge Slash!” Roan added. A saber of light formed on one of Revenge’s blades, as it sliced through Havoc Daemon. Daemon was tossed into the air, but Daniel laughed. “I’ll give you some credit.” Havoc Daemon appeared to be exiting the arena. “But the rest goes to me. Now! Rebirth Dive!” Daemon’s avatar appeared, a dark dragon with wings bursting with energy. The bey smoothly fired, changing its route as it aimed for Revenge’s layer. “Uh oh,” Paris thought. “Not good.” Roan thought the same. Daemon wasn’t stopping, however. It was a few seconds, ten maximum, from attacking. Roan boomed, “No chance! Triple Smash Brave!” Aiga turned to Charles, “I told you so.” Revenge lit up luminously as Daniel widened his eyes. Havoc Daemon wasn’t stopping, and this time, it was a good thing. The two attack types came into contact, as Daemon hurtled toward Daniel’s face at an insanely fast speed. “Burst him!” Roan cried, as Havoc Daemon split apart. The crowd immediately cheered, some chanting Roan’s name, some waving posters. The referee pointed to the Z5 member. “Two points to Smash Revenge for a Burst Finish. The score is now 2-1.” Paris smiled and shot Roan a look. “I said I was going to walk away victorious,” Roan said. Daniel growled. “It’s not over. Have your pathetic celebration or whatever, but you haven’t won.” His eyes gleamed. “And nor will you ever.” Chapter 16 - Finale! Revenge vs Daemon! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Roan takes the lead after bursting Daemon, making the score 2-1! Daniel’s hair was blinding, as if it were on fire. “Better not stare at that too long,” Aiga said. This time, no remarks came from Daniel. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” Both Daniel and Roan sprung into the air, almost reaching the ceiling. “Let it rip!” Smash Revenge and Havoc Daemon swirled around the outer ring of the stadium. “Go! Burst him!” The two bladers cried in unison, as their beys accelerated forward. The two attack type beys rushed each other, with sparks shooting out of the stadium. Both Daemon and Revenge were knocked aside, as Daemon lowered into its driver, retracting its height. “Here it comes,” Paris added. Daniel’s hair lit up like it did prior to the battle. He looked like a living flame at this point. “Say goodnight! You don’t deserve that place as Z5! Demolish Break!” Daniel thundered, as his eyes became miniature infernos. Havoc Daemon raced along the stadium, heading toward Revenge. “Two can play that game,” Roan said, “Smash Counter!” Smash Revenge flowed through the arena, leaning on its driver as it surged forward. The two furious attack types met up in the middle of the stadium. The final act of the battle was the same as the first, as both beys rolled back, diving in for an intense clash. “Rebound Uppercut!” Daniel roared, as Havoc Daemon shot forward. “Super Revenge Slash!” Roan countered, as Smash Revenge jolted toward Daemon. The two attack types lit up as one of their sides became a beam of light. Daemon and Revenge pressed their sabers into each other as wind and dust formed a mini-tornado. Revenge and Daemon were launched into the air, as they slowly headed toward each other. ‘Clink!’ Havoc Daemon made the final hit, as Revenge was flung out of the stadium. The wind dissolved, as the dark dragon shot out of the stadium a few seconds later. “One point to Havoc Daemon for an Over Finish! The score is now 2-2!” The referee announced. The BeyClub all seemed tense. At this point anything could happen. “Match point,” Ryota’s puppet said. Roan picked up his bey and re-inserted it into the launcher. The Z5 member tightly gripped it, as he seemed confident this time. “Resonance. He’s resonating with his bey,” Paris said. “What’s resonance?” Toko asked. Paris shot Aiga a look. Aiga informed, “It’s when one truly bonds with their bey. It’s as if the blader becomes the bey.” “Well I don’t wanna become a robot!” Charles joked. “Fourth battle!” The referee called. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Smash Revenge instantly shot Havoc Daemon into the air, as it flipped. “That won’t stop me! Rebirth Dive!” Daniel howled. Daemon regained its speed and pounced onto Smash Revenge, as it fired into the wall. “Now! Upper Smash Break!” Roan called as Revenge zipped through the stadium and rushed through Daemon, however it wouldn’t budge. “It’s not moving!” Taiki gasped. “Oh, you want me to move? I will,” Daniel remarked as Havoc Daemon retracted into its driver. “DEMOLISH BREAK!” He howled. Havoc Daemon zoomed around the stadium. “Not on my watch! Super Revenge Slash!” Roan shouted. As Daemon made its way toward Revenge, the latter drove its blade into Havoc Daemon’s layer as the two beys came into contact. “I’m not going to hold back! Demolish Break!” Daniel commanded once more. Havoc Daemon pummeled Smash Revenge and flung it into the air. “Heh! I said you don’t deserve to be in the Z5!” Daniel roared. Just then, Smash Revenge lit up as Havoc Daemon took the center. “Neither do you if you’re going to be this arrogant. Triple Smash Brave!” “What?” Daniel gasped. “How can Smash Revenge do Triple Smash Brave if it’s not underneath?” Toko asked. “It’s a reverse Triple Smash Brave!” Smash Revenge blasted through Havoc Daemon, piercing its layer as Daemon flung into the air. “Burst him!” Roan cried, as just then, Daemon split into three. “Two points to Smash Revenge for a Burst Finish! The score is now 4-2! Roan Jamieson is the winner!” The crowd cheered, however Daniel pummeled his fist into the ground and roared in defeat. “You!” he pointed to Roan. “I will destroy you! Whatever it takes!” Chapter 17 - The National Tournament! Ragnaruk vs Pegasus! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Roan wipes out Daniel with the unexpected! “Ready, Ryota?” Paris prepared for the battle. “Mhm!” His puppets said eagerly. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Torch Ragnaruk took the center and lit up like a flame. “Now!” Ryota’s dog puppet, Ragna exclaimed. “Torch Hurricane!” The middle of the arena became a swirling vortex of flames as Pegasus zipped around. “Let’s do this! Supernova Shoot!” Immortal Pegasus slammed into the wall and shot into the air, eventually returning to the surface. Making its way to Ragnaruk, it struck once before climbing to the top. Pegasus surged back down, striking Ragnaruk again. “With each hit, it’s gaining speed!” Aiga said. Pegasus crashed into the wall as its wing lit up. “Fire away! Immortal Slash!” Paris shouted. The attack type sunk its blade into Ragnaruk as both beys were knocked back, gradually losing stamina. Ryota’s other puppet, a cat, roared, “It’s not over! True Ragnaruk Storm!” Ragnaruk shifted over to the outer ring, catching up to Pegasus as the beys clashed. Pegasus shot out of the air and headed for the doorway. It landed in someone’s black and blue gloves. “Valt!” Aiga and Toko cried in unison as they ran over to the electric-blue haired boy standing at the door. “Hey!” He smiled cheerfully as he walked over to Paris. “Long time no see.” “Yeah,” Paris nodded as Valt handed him Pegasus. “Anyway, I was here to give some of you an invitation.” “Invitation?” Ryota asked. “Mhm,” Valt opened his backpack and pulled out a few letters. He passed one to Ryota, then to Charles, then to Paris. “Good luck guys,” Valt smiled warmly as he slung his backpack between his shoulders. Before Valt left, Paris shouted, “Wait!” To be honest, Paris was dying for a rematch with Valt, despite him being the champion. “How about a rematch?” Paris held out Pegasus. Valt was shocked, but rummaged his pockets for Valkyrie. “You bet!” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Cho-Z Valkyrie’s Burst Stoppers immediately activated. “Now Pegasus! Supernova Shoot!” Paris commanded as Pegasus’ avatar appeared, a white winged-horse shooting a beam from its horn. Pegasus struck Valkyrie once, then again, until the champion’s bey rolled back. “Show him everything we have! Super Rush Shoot!” Valt shouted. Valkyrie and Pegasus rushed each other, firing a string of endless attacks as both beys lost a click. “Let’s end this! Immortal Stormbringer!” Paris cried as Pegasus loomed around Valkyrie, orbiting it rapidly. The winged-horse closed in. “Now Valkyrie! Super Flash Shoot!” Cho-Z Valkyrie spiralled around the center of the stadium, drilling into Pegasus as it flung into the air. Pegasus immediately burst and landed at Paris’ feet. “Two points to Cho-Z Valkyrie for a Burst Finish!” Aiga announced. Paris smiled in approval. “That was amazing!” Valt walked over to Paris’ side of the stadium and picked up Pegasus’ pieces. Before he re-assembled the bey, Valt inserted a gold level chip. “Here. You’re a lot stronger now, so this is all yours.” Paris smiled. “Thanks.” He glanced at Pegasus. “Let’s win the National Tournament.” Valt waved goodbye. “Bye! I’m craving BeyBread.” The electric-blue haired boy exited the building. Paris opened the National Tournament Letter and read the details. “Blah blah blah, winner becomes Japan’s best blader?” “And it’s tomorrow!” Charles pointed out. The following morning, Paris woke up to a blast. He quickly ran out the door and headed to the WBBA building, where the tournaments were usually held. “Ladies and gentlemen!” Hanami announced excitedly. “Today is the day of the National Tournament! A week from now, we’ll decide who Japan’s best blader is!” The large screen turned on and presented photos of all three dozen bladers. “And they could be one of Japan’s top bladers! Paris, Charles, Ryota, Xhan, Aaron, Daniel, Roan and Nika!” The screen randomly paired up two images. “Our first battle is Paris vs Ryota!” Hanami announced, “Followed by Nika vs Charles!” Ryota and Paris both appeared on stage, gripping onto their launchers. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Ragnaruk took the center of the stadium, repeating the battle from yesterday. Pegasus rushed down and attacked it, swarming it endlessly. “Alright!” Paris cheered triumphantly. Torch Ragnaruk got knocked back in the outer ring of the stadium as Pegasus chased after it. The attack type dashed around the edge of the stadium and struck Ragnaruk, making its way around the stadium. “Finish this! Supernova Shoot!” Paris exclaimed as Pegasus glowed, blasting through Ragnaruk as it flung out of the stadium. The referee pointed to Paris. “One point to Immortal Pegasus for an Over Finish! The score is now 1-0!” The crowd cheered as the second battle commenced. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Torch Ragnaruk took the center of the stadium as the vortex became a fiery hurricane. “Now!” Ruk yelled. “Torch Hurricane!” Pegasus darted down the stadium as Paris exclaimed, “Supernova Shoot!” The attack type couldn’t get to Ragnaruk. “What?” Paris gasped as Pegasus attempted to enter from all directions, however it was impossible. Pegasus’ wing lit up. “Let’s see if your wall can take this! Immortal Slash!” The hurricane dissolved as Torch Ragnaruk glowed. “Now’s our chance!” Ragna exclaimed. “True Ragnaruk Storm!” The stamina type reformed its hurricane and drove it into Pegasus, flinging it into the air. “No!” Paris gasped. “Hold on!” Fortunately, Pegasus landed on the stadium’s surface, however it was soon depleted of stamina. “One point to Torch Ragnaruk for a Spin Finish! The score is now 1-1!” The referee declared. Ryota took Ruk off of his right hand. “What’s he doing?” Taiki whispered to Aiga. Then, he removed Ragna from his left hand. “He’s proving that he’s more than just two puppets,” Aiga replied. “Let’s win this Ragnaruk!” Ryota shouted. “Third battle!” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Pegasus zoomed around the outer rim of the stadium, however it was too late. “Torch Hurricane!” Ryota commanded as Ragnaruk’s avatar appeared, a horned demon with golden armor. Pegasus rushed down swiftly, as Ragnaruk’s hurricane fired it into the air. Paris quickly filled with frustration. Pegasus flew into the air and glimmered, sending a message to Paris. “You’re right! Immortal Starblast Attack!” Paris exclaimed. Immortal Pegasus aimed for Torch Ragnaruk, however it quickly pulled away. “That’s not all! Supernova Shoot!” Paris commanded. Pegasus drifted off and headed into the center of the stadium, however it still couldn’t reach Ragnaruk. “Time to turn the tables! Immortal Stormbringer!” Paris shouted. Ryota gasped. Pegasus zoomed around Ragnaruk and closed in, giving the stamina type little to no room to escape. “Finish him! Full power!” Pegasus exploded with energy. Torch Ragnaruk flew into the air and burst. “Two points to Immortal Pegasus for a Burst Finish! The score is now 3-1, making Paris Hagane the winner!” Paris smiled. “All right! We did it!” Ryota stood up. “That was a battle to remember. Thanks, Paris.” Hanami spoke into his microphone. “Tomorrow we have two upcoming battles! Nika vs Charles and Aaron vs Paris! Stay tuned!” Chapter 18 - Fusion Whirlwind! Grand Nike! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! After his first tournament, Paris joins the Nationals and competes against Ryota! Meanwhile, it’s Charles turn! “Welcome everyone, to the second battle of the first stage! We hope you’re ready, because it’s about to get chaotic!” Hanami tapped into his microphone. One person was missing from his reserved seat, next to Toko. It was Charles Schwab, as he was about to battle. Charles, in the common room, gulped as Nika had already defeated three bladers in a row. “We will.” He looked down at Centurion as his scared expression changed into a confident one. “I think you forgot your launcher,” a laughing voice entered the room. “Hm?” Charles turned around, only to see his older sister, Jamie. His face became redder than a tomato. “Win this one, okay?” Jamie exited the room on a high note, just as the screen displayed Grand Nike smashing through a bey. Bladers were eliminated from the tournament at a fast rate. “Any second now, and I’ll be next,” Charles thought to himself. Secretly, he feared losing again. Centurion shook in his hand, angrily, as if scalding him for his negativity. “R-right.” He responded. “Let’s give this crowd a show.” Hanami smiled. “You know what it’s time for! Charles Schwab against Nika Aoi!” Just then, both bladers had emerged from a door, emitting smoke. Taiki said jokingly, “So, Toko, who are you rooting for?” “Both,” the blue haired boy replied. “Both? Are you crazy?” The referee called for the first battle. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Ultra Centurion charged instantly at Grand Nike, who avoided the attack. Jamie’s message echoed in Charles’ head: “Win this one, okay?” “I made a promise,” Centurion lit up like a moving fireball. “And I’m keeping it.” Nike swirled across the stadium cautiously. “This one’s for you, Jamie! Ultra Revival!” Charles yelled. The Revival driver retracted its prongs, clapping together as the bey jolted forward, slamming into Grand Nike. Nike wobbled but proceeded forward. “Let’s do this Nike! Grand Rush!” Nika exclaimed. Grand Nike struck Centurion once, pushing it back, and again, repeating the attack several times. “No Centurion!” Charles cried as Nike continually thrashed it. The two balance types clashed as Centurion was thrown into the wall. As Grand Nike pinned Ultra Centurion, Charles had enough. “Must-win—CENTURION!” His dark hair rose, as Ultra Centurion pushed back. Nike seemed to have a hard time pulling through. Suddenly, Charles’ bey escaped and regained its balance, riding the outer rim of the stadium. “Not so fast!” Nika called. “Northern Cross Shoot!” Opposite to Southern Cross Shoot, Grand Nike darted from the other direction. “Finish him!” The pink-haired girl added as Centurion was lifted into the air, bursting at Charles’ face. “Two points to Grand Nike for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-0!” The referee declared. Charles grumbled as Toko zoomed in to a rotating image of Nike. “It’s all in the driver, Fuse,” he said. Paris noticed something off about Charles. It was as if he couldn’t decide whether to be afraid or determined. “Charles! Win this!” Paris shouted as he removed the frame from Pegasus, tossing it to Charles. He seemed clueless. Paris raised Immortal Pegasus into the air and nodded, as a white beam transferred from Pegasus to Centurion. Then, Toko, Aiga, Ryota and Taiki did the same, as Centurion had inherited the BeyClub’s power. “Thanks,” he nodded calmly. “Now let’s do this Centurion!" Chapter 19 - Go! Ultra Ripper! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Charles is afraid of losing at first, and even after giving up two points to Nika, the battle is reaching its end! The crowd appreciated Charles’ fixed mindset. But still, a part of him felt... spoilt, or unworthy of the Galaxy frame. Despite being a piece of plastic, it shone majestically in his hand with power. He sighed, and turned to Paris. “I’m sorry. I can’t- it’s not mine-“ Charles had envisioned the conversation to be more like this: “Oh my god Charles! You’re such a loser!” Paris’ face burst with laughter. “Weak!” Aiga blurted. But instead, Paris was empathetic for Charles. He cheered him on, “You can do it! I believe in you!” “Wait! Are you sure-“ Before Charles could protest, Paris had already left the building as his battle with Aaron was about to begin. He twisted Pegasus’ piece onto the Penta disc, which fit perfectly. A metal clunking, robotic noise emerged with a whinnying, horse-like sound. “And I believe in you!” A reddish, orange aura burst out of him excitedly, giving him a boost of confidence. As Paris sank into the seat in the waiting room, he smiled at the sight of Charles being himself. “I hope I get to battle the real Charles this time,” Nika said. “Oh, you will,” Charles replied with a smirk. “And it’s not gonna be pretty.” The referee called for the second battle. Nika was taken by surprise at Charles’ sudden change of confidence, but it gave her something to look forward to. Charles had been working on a new launch technique for a while. And that was the first day he met Paris. His launcher was hovering over the center of the stadium, like a defense type. If he could pull it off... “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” “And what a landing!” Hanami spoke into his microphone. Ultra Centurion initially scraped the stadium floor, contributing to its loss of stamina. As soon as Grand Nike zoomed, Centurion dodged its impending attack as it bounced off the stadium floor. “What?” Nika was surprised. She put two and two together and realized it was from the Galaxy frame. Grand Nike charged for another attack. “Northern Cross Shoot!” She commanded. “Fight back! Ultra Revival!” Charles yelled. Both beys crashed into each other endlessly; each attack was with extreme force, until they had lost a click each. Grand Nike quickly pulled away, and took the centre of the stadium. Ultra Centurion sent a series of attacks, but it was useless. “Hope you’ve had your fun,” Nika looked at Charles and back at Nike, “Let’s go! Fusion Whirlwind!” The Fuse driver switched, into a barrage mode. It looked menacing, that was for sure. Repeatedly thrashing Ultra Centurion, it flew into the wall and shot into the air. “I’ve been holding back all this time. It’s time to discover my true potential,” Charles said. Centurion’s avatar appeared, with Pegasus flying overhead, as they roared in unison. “Now! Aerial Attack!” Charles shouted. Grand Nike lost another click, and the tables were turned as it shot into the wall. Soon after taking the hit, Nike shot back at full speed. “What a recovery!” Hanami enjoyed the sight of bladers giving it their all. Charles had acted quickly on the situation. “Recover from this! Ultra Ripper!” Charles’ voice echoed through the building, as Centurion took the center of the stadium and wobbled, defending itself but attacking at the same time. Grand Nike tried to break through, and as much as Nika hated to admit it.. this was harder than she thought. “Grand Rush!” Nika exclaimed, but the only thing Nike did was slightly push Centurion back. A few seconds passed, as Nike was about to lose its stamina... “Burst Strike!” Ultra Centurion blasted right through Grand Nike, bursting it. “Two points to Ultra Centurion for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-2!” The referee announced. Paris jumped out of his seat followed by a ‘Yes!’ attracting strange looks from other people. “That was fun,” Nika admitted. “But you and me both know this is the end.” “The end where I win,” Charles corrected. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” The two balance types slammed into each other, pressing their blades into their layers. “Burst Strike!” Charles roared. “Cancel it out! Northern Cross Shoot!” Charles decided to give it his all early, in hopes to finish the battle quickly. Both beyblades rolled back. “Now! Ultra Ripper!” Ultra Centurion repeated what happened in the last battle. The tension was rising, as Grand Nike tried everything to break through...well, almost everything. Nika’s pink hair lit like a flame. “Northern Cross Shoot!” Finally, Ultra Centurion’s barrier was broken by Nike’s furious attacks, sending it into the wall. Charles had just used up all of his luck. What he tried in the last battle didn’t work in this one, so what went wrong? Thinking about it made him tired mentally rather than physically. “Again! Northern Cross Shoot!” Nika shouted. Grand Nike knocked Ultra Centurion out of its orbit, as it rushed for another attack. “Ultra Revival!” Charles commanded. Instantly, Centurion regained its balance and became stable. But it was too late. “Fusion Whirlwind!” This time, Grand Nike switched into its first mode of the two, Lower Mode, which gave it an opportunity to uppercut Centurion into the air, bursting it. “Two points to Grand Nike. The score is now 4-2, making Nika Aoi the winner!” Paris took a heavy hit, as if Nike had hit him instead. Everyone did too. Charles remembered what Paris had said: “Battling is fun when you win, but when you lose, you smile, ‘cuz you had fun anyway.” He turned to Nika. “Congratulations.” “Thanks. You did great too,” Nika smiled. Hanami tapped into his microphone. “Now it’s time for a long awaited battle, Paris vs Aaron! It’s about to start!” Paris was quivering with anticipation. Seeing all his friends battle made him extremely eager. “Wait! Paris!” A voice shouted from behind. It was Charles, who had the Galaxy frame in his hand. “You’re not upset?” Paris was shocked that he actually listened. “Nope. It was fun, but now the pressure’s on you,” Charles joked. Nodding, Paris reunited the frame with the rest of the frame. “I think you’ll have to rephrase that,” Toko said, walking in with Taiki. “Turns out we were qualified for the tournament,” Taiki added, “Oh, and good luck Paris.” “Thanks. I’m gonna need it.” Chapter 20 - The Warrior’s Spirit! Shield Ares! Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Charles learns it’s not all about winning, as Paris is about to begin his battle. Paris was quivering with anticipation. It had been quite some time since he’d battled. Plus, this was a new opponent. “Ah, Paris! Long time no see!” With the friendliest grin on his face, Roan stood at the other end of the corridor. “Off to a battle?” Paris guessed. “Yeah, yeah I am. Glad to see you’re back on track,” Roan replied. "Good luck." Just like that, the two friends parted ways. Paris heard Hanami commencing the battle. “Welcome to all you BeyFans! Today marks the second round of the National Tournament!” One of the doors rattled and opened, revealing Aaron Mizusawa, a boy with wavy gold hair and a blue coat. “We have our first competitor, Xhan’s right-hand man, Aaron!” Hanami announced. “And our second competitor is a crowd favourite, the boy who never gives up, Paris Hagane!” The two bladers stood on either end of the stadium. Ryota observed closely. “His bey is Shield Ares. The bey is like the ultimate defense type, since it has four metal balls that change its trajectory during battle.” The layer had four equal curves, with a metal ball aligned in front of each protrusion. The middle had a small sword, like Xcalibur. The disc, 25, had 13 bumps on the back and 12 to the front. The driver, Drive, had a spherical rubber tip, similar to Friction. “We’re about to see what it can do,” Charles added. Aiga recalled battling him during one of his visits to the Bogard Kingdom. Of course, he had won, only after going the extra mile. “Mind not holding back?” Aaron asked. “You bet,” Paris responded with ease. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Shield Ares and Immortal Pegasus spun competitively, dodging each other’s attacks. Ares took the center, as two of its opposite metal balls shifted inward. “Shield Defense!” Aaron commanded, as Pegasus made its way. “Rush him!” Paris shouted. Pegasus accelerated with each hit, dealing twice the amount of damage each time. Ares resisted movement as it spun stably, unlike Immortal Pegasus. “I’ve gotta think fast,” Paris thought to himself. “And effectively.” With little stamina left, it was too late to use a move. Pegasus shifted toward the center, as Shield Ares moved all four metal balls outward. “End this Ares! Ares Drive!” Aaron yelled, as Ares surged through the stadium, flinging Pegasus outside. “One point to Shield Ares for an Over Finish! The score is now 1-0!” The tension was rising throughout the building. Immortal Pegasus landed in Aiga’s blue gloves. Paris walked over to the Crimson Nova, recollecting his bey. “Just my word of advice, give it all you got. I made that same mistake when I lost my championship to Valt Aoi,” Aiga said. Nodding, Paris prepared for the second round. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Shield Ares positioned itself to instantly knock Pegasus away, and succeeded. “Now’s our chance! Supernova Shoot!” Like a shooting star, Immortal Pegasus shot across the arena and rapidly dealt huge blows to Ares. Ares retreated to the center of the stadium as Pegasus came rushing down. “Not a repeat of the first battle!” Charles sighed. Pegasus took advantage of the situation and zoomed around the middle, trapping Ares in its infamous Immortal Stormbringer. “What?” Aaron widened his eyes, as Shield Ares shot into the air. Fortunately for him, it returned back to the stadium’s surface. “That’s enough! Ares Guard!” Aaron used his latest move, as Shield Ares headed toward Pegasus. “Wait for this! Immortal Slash!” Ending the battle with a heavy collision, both beys were sent flying into the air and split apart. Aaron and Paris stared anxiously at the referee, awaiting a response. “Two points to Immortal Pegasus for a Burst Finish - the score is now 2-1!” “Alright! We did it!” Paris cheered alongside with Charles and Ryota. “Third battle!” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Shield Ares sniped Immortal Pegasus, pushing it back as Ares did its job; defending itself. Slamming Pegasus multiple times, it flew into the air as Paris’ eyes glinted blue. “Heh. Pegasus likes flying,” Paris smirked as its avatar appeared, a white-winged horse. Descending at an increasing speed, it slammed into Ares, knocking the bey into the center of the stadium. “Ares Drive!” Aaron shouted, as Shield Ares attempted to overpower Immortal Pegasus in speed. “Let’s do this! Supernova Shoot!” Paris pulled another trick from his sleeve. Pegasus pulled a chain of attacks, as Ares was unable to keep up with each one. Flinging into the wall, Ares lost a click. The metal balls on Shield Ares retracted. If Aaron couldn’t play offensive, then he’d play defensive. “Now Ares! Shield Defense!” Aaron exclaimed. Ares’ avatar, a furious-looking knight with a sword and a shield in each hand appeared. “Again! Supernova Shoot!” Despite Immortal Pegasus using excessive force on Shield Ares, it was stubborn and refused to move. The two beys were down to their last few seconds worth of stamina. Pegasus had lost three clicks - one more, and Aaron would win. Paris decided it was worth taking the risk. “Finish him! Immortal Slash!” BOOM. Shield Ares burst, and just as Immortal Pegasus collapsed, it did too. “Two points to Immortal Pegasus for a Burst Finish! The score is now 4-1. Paris Hagane will move on to the next round!” “Alright! We did it!” Paris looked at his friends, then back at Pegasus. “You deserved it. Congratulations,” Aaron said, leaving the room. On the screen, Aaron’s picture faded away. “What an exciting introduction to the beginning of the second round! That sure made me pumped!” The screen selected the next two competitors. “Our next two bladers are the Aoi twins! Toko against Nika! That should be interesting!” Toko glanced nervously at his sister. Chapter 21 - The Sibling Showdown! Part 1 Spoiler (Click to View)
Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Roan and Xhan enter into the semi-finals as Paris defeats Aaron! “What an outstanding performance!” Hanami leapt out of his seat excitedly. “And Xhan Bogard earns himself a spot in the semi-finals!” He wore a red tunic with a blue sash attached to his left shoulder. Despite being royal, Xhan acted in a relaxed, casual manner. “It’s all thanks to my Fullmetal Xcalibur!” he smiled, holding up his beyblade. The layer consisted of a rough, jagged design with a double sided metal sword in the middle. It used its usual color pallet, with bright reds, blues and golds. Xcalibur’s disc, 1+, was seemingly a final upgrade to the 1 disc. It had a heavier weight and a thicker blade. The driver, Steel, had a metal base but in a star-shape. Aiga was delighted. Like Hanami described, it was quite a sight. Fullmetal Xcalibur blew through the opposing bey in less than ten seconds. “That’s some sheer attacking force,” Paris noted. The bey drove off the stadium wall and glided into Xhan’s hand. Later that afternoon, Paris and Aiga walked toward the school in an upbeat manner. “That was amazing! Fullmetal Xcalibur was like, POW and then BAM!” Aiga said. “Yeah, it was pretty cool.” Paris replied. The two were quite surprised when they entered inside their usual training spot, the gymnasium. “Let it rip!” “-Rip!” “Toko,” Aiga and Paris said in unison. Flash Trident raced around the worn-out stadium, before bursting itself on the wall. “Oh. Hey guys,” Toko briefly glanced at them before diverting his attention back at the arena. Paris recalled to when Hanami announced that Toko would be practicing his sister, Nika. “Training?” Aiga asked, impatiently wandering around the room. “Mhm.” “Hey, listen. If you want to win, you’re going to have to beat us first,” Paris said challengingly. Toko scanned his two opponents, observing their launching styles. “Bring it on,” he said, under his breath. “Let it rip!” They all cried in unison, as they fired their beys into the stadium. “Immortal Slash!” An aura rose from Paris as he unleashed his power into a single attack. “Achilles! Cho-Z Slash!” Aiga commanded. Whilst Flash Trident took the middle, Achilles and Pegasus came from either side, beaming through the stamina type. “Hold on Trident,” Toko said, assessing the situation. “Burst him!” Paris and Aiga exclaimed. “Uh oh,” Toko sighed before facing his demise. Flash Trident exploded into three pieces. “Alright. You beat me.” “You’re getting much stronger-“ Aiga and Paris said in sync, before giving each other weird looks. “Do you guys have a habit of saying things at the same time?” Toko raised an eyebrow as they all shared a much needed laugh. “Here,” Paris handed a bottle of water to Toko. He poured it over his hair and stood up, feeling relieved. “Ah, much better. Up for a second battle?” “You got it!” “Let it rip!” The second battle was a repeat of the first. Charles, on the sidelines, pressed a button on a timer. “Five seconds better than last time,” he said. “I don’t need your comment!” Toko snapped. “Again!” Flash Trident burst, not to anyone’s surprise. “Again!” “One hundredth and fifty-fourth battle!” Charles put his hand in the middle. “Let it rip!” “You’ve got this,” an voice familiar to Toko said encouragingly. “I don’t know if I can step up and beat Nika,” the blue-haired boy confessed. “Learn your priorities. Confidence is key, kid. Now are we gonna do this?” “We will, Trident!” Toko exclaimed. A vibrant yellow aura erupted from him. Paris and Aiga were exhausted, and were fumbling with their launchers. “Let it-“ Toko yelled. “Rip,” The two said wearily. Cho-Z Achilles and Immortal Pegasus rushed down from either side, charging at full speed. “Dodge it, Trident!” Toko shouted with confidence as his bey did so. The stamina type elevated itself, giving it a boost in speed. “Hit me, Aiga!” Paris said. Aiga curled his fists and slammed it into Paris’ arm. “Ow! I meant in beyblade!” Paris whimpered. “Oh.. right. Sorry!” Achilles lit up and a huge sword hovered over it. “Cho-Z Sword!” Aiga exclaimed. With a heavy hit to Pegasus, it lost a click but accelerated toward Trident. “It’s all yours, Pegasus! Supernova Shoot!” Paris shouted with confidence. Like a Pegasus, the attack type smashed through Flash Trident, slamming it into the wall. “It’s not over! Flash Counter!” Toko unzipped his jacket and tossed it aside. Flash Trident rebounded off of the wall and struck Pegasus, knocking it back. Trident raced toward the attack type, with Achilles chasing behind it. “Right on your tail!” Aiga shouted. The stamina type changed its trajectory, throwing Achilles off guard. “All right, Flash Trident! It’s time to end this once and for all! Final Flash Sting!” Toko bellowed. Trident slammed down onto Immortal Pegasus, gaining hold of one of its feathers. “No! Pegasus!” Paris cried. But it was too late. The attack type bey was thrown off balance, heading right for Cho-Z Achilles. The two beys clashed before simultaneously flinging themselves out of the stadium. “Toko’s the winner,” Charles declared. Aiga and Paris both collapsed to the floor. “Well, that was fun,” Toko smiled. He looked outside and frowned. “I’m gonna go home and call it a day.” And just like that, the four friends parted ways for the day. Later that night, Paris had a dream. It was more of a vision, to be precise. He appeared in a dark, gloomy castle where multiple cloaked figures talked amongst themselves, as if they were part of a council. “Silence,” one of them said and they all obeyed the command. He walked toward a throne and sat down. Another one grumbled. “This is my palace. I have made it fairly certain. Must I show you?” The one on the throne, their leader, spoke again. “This is my territory now, foolish boy. When I’m done, justice will be done upon this world. Only the strong can survive.” Paris woke up, startled. “Phew! It was just one of those weird dreams,” he sighed, very relieved. He got dressed and left the house as soon as possible. “Today’s the big day,” Paris kept reminding himself. Toko would face his sister today. That meant either of them would be against Paris, and whoever won would enter the semi-finals. Either way, it wouldn’t be an easy battle. Paris had soon arrived at the WBBA building where the battles were held. “Welcome to all you BeyFans! We have two spectacular battles today! First up, we have Toko against his sister, Nika!” The crowd cheered. “And next up we have Daniel against Taiki,” Hanami announced. Paris noticed how Hanami didn’t seem very.. joyful when announcing that line. It was understandable, as that match would be a certain loss for Taiki. “In the red corner, we have Nika Aoi!” “Against her today is Toko Aoi!” The siblings entered from a door on either side of the building. “Nika, just because you’re my sister doesn’t mean I’m going to hold back,” Toko warned. “That’s good. I’d be disappointed if you did,” Nika replied. “Well then, it’s settled,” Toko agreed as he looked down at Flash Trident. “I’m gonna win this one for us.” A/N Hey everyone, thanks for reading the chapter and I hope you enjoyed it. I’d like to apologise for my absence as I’ve been extremely busy recently. In saying that, the Zero series is still up and running. Thank you all for your support, -Sir Saitama Chapter 22 - The Sibling Showdown! Part 2 Spoiler (Click to View) Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Xhan makes his debut and introduces his new bey, Fullmetal Xcalibur. Meanwhile, Toko is moments away from his battle! Not long after, Toko’s confidence soon dissapeared. It was as if a small part of him was still afraid. Yet he still refused to admit it. “I’m not! I’ll defeat Nika- then Paris, then Roan!” Trident sighed and transformed the building into an empty white abyss. “W-where is this? Hello?” Toko felt a lonely, desolate ambience in the place. “Did you just kidnap me?” Toko looked very confused. “No. This is all temporary.” “Well, can you bring me back? I’m going to finish this battle,” Toko said with a determined face. Trident’s aura dissapeared. “Kid, you don’t know what’s happening at all. A few minutes ago you had the right mindset. Now, it’s- Now it’s broken.” “Define broken, if you will,” Toko asked. “You’re a mess right now. Don’t let your personal desires consume you. Unless you value your sanity,” Trident spoke. “Fine,” Toko rolled his eyes. “I’m afraid. I admit it. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to win.” Trident became its usual glowing yellow again. “That’s the spirit.” Despite Nika’s first impression to many people - often appearing to be feisty and intimidating, she cared about her opponents. Especially her twin brother, Toko. “Toko? Are you alright?” She walked over to his side of the stadium and tapped him on the shoulder. “Y-yeah. I am,” the blue-haired boy smiled warmly. “Let’s get this show on the road.” “Ladies and gentlemen!” Hanami announced excitedly. “The battle hasn’t even started and I’m on the edge of my seat! I’m thrilled to bits!” “First battle! Ready, set!” The referee commenced the battle. “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Grand Nike and Flash Trident both rushed into the middle of the stadium as they clashed fiercely. Nike quickly pulled away, leaving the stamina type dominant in the centre. “Now Nike! Grand Rush!” Nika cried, as the balance type executed a flower-pattern attack on Trident. Flash Trident suddenly flew into the air, about to exit the stadium. “Keep it going Trident! We’re not done yet!” Toko exclaimed, as the stamina type descended into the stadium wall, saving itself. With energy and momentum build up, Flash Trident was propelled to race around at incredible speeds. “Go! Flash Counter!” Trident’s avatar appeared, a glowing yellow spearman wielding a trident. It tossed its weapon, just as the bey slammed into Grand Nike. The balance type soon became unstable as it landed on its side, skidding across the stadium uncontrollably. “Now’s our chance,” Toko thought. Flash Trident elevated its driver height, becoming almost double the height of its opponent. Zooming into the stadium’s radius, it caught up with Grand Nike. Taking advantage of Nike’s unstable movement, the stamina type lowered its height, grabbing onto it. “Final Flash Sting!” Toko commanded. Nika not only had to worry about her bey scraping on the floor, but Trident’s strong grip. “Nika! Toko! Do your best!” A familiar electric-blue haired boy cheered from overhead. “Nike,” Nika invoked. The call had drastically boosted its endurance and strength. “Its power levels are through the roof!” Charles said in awe, observing Nike’s statistics on a tablet. Grand Nike had already lost two clicks. Nika was unsure of how much longer it could hold its own. “Risks are meant to be made,” she thought to herself. Suddenly, Grand Nike gripped onto Trident, shifting itself off the stadium floor. “Wow! Nike just recovered from scraping the arena’s surface!” Hanami reported. “And that’s not all Nike did,” Nika’s eyes glowed a vibrant purple. “Ultra Northern Cross Shoot!” The balance type dragged Trident along with it, tossing it aside on the outer rim of the stadium. Toko’s eyes widened in shock. He only had a few seconds before Trident would lose; he had to think fast. “Trident,” Toko called upon to his bey’s avatar. “I know I haven’t been too much of a good blader, and I know I’ve done nothing except destroy our bond - so I’m going to strengthen it.” Trident roared in agreement. The blue-haired boy’s eyes lit up to a luminous gold, resonating with his bey. “Now!” Toko boomed. His voice shook the entire building, as if there were an earthquake. “DIVING FLASH!” Flash Trident increased its height to the maximum, spanning to be one of the widest and tallest beys. Using its newfound ability, it dodged Nike’s impending attack, and climbed up the side of the stadium, flinging itself into the air. Toko fully resonated with his bey, as Trident stood at his side, both with the same expressions - determined and fierce. Next, Trident fell, but its height lowered, giving it a boost in speed. The stamina type finally descended into the stadium, piercing through Grand Nike. “Burst it!” Toko cried. And to everyone’s surprise... he pulled it off. “Two points to Flash Trident for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-0!” Grand Nike flew into the air and burst, landing at Nika’s feet. Everybody was shocked, in complete silence, until Paris put his hands together and clapped. Paris and Toko exchanged glances, as the blue-haired boy mouthed ‘Thank you.’ Hanami finally spoke, “I certainly did not see that coming! I don’t know what, but the Aoi family is full of talented bladers! Let’s give it up for Toko!” “Toko! Toko!” The crowd chanted. Nika picked up Nike’s pieces and re-assembled her bey. “You fought with honour. Let’s burst him properly this time.” Regardless, Nika smiled. “I knew you could do it. But there are multiple rounds for a reason.” The siblings both laughed in unison, before inserting their beys into their launchers. Toko felt a sharp pain digging into his shoulder. It was almost as if ‘Diving Flash’ drained his energy. “No. I’ve made it this far. I’m not going to let a silly injury stop me,” Toko reminded himself. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” “Agh-“ Toko howled. His injury caused him to mislaunch, tilting Trident on a steep angle on the outer rim of the stadium. “No, no, no!” The light blue-haired boy panicked. “Get out of there, Trident!” The stamina type bey followed the order - it drove straight down, however there was one problem. “What a smart move! Grand Nike has taken the middle of the stadium, putting Flash Trident out of its zone!” Hanami observed the battle. The stamina type orbited around Nike, striking it every few seconds, but the balance type wouldn’t move. “You know, the good thing about balance types is that they can go anywhere,” Nika said. Toko was panicking - he thought he had won, and he was out of moves... out of ideas. “Final Flash Strike!” The stamina type increased its height and made its way around the stadium, heading toward Nike. “It’s all you, Trident!” Toko yelled. Trident struck Nike once and lowered its height, slamming down onto the balance type. “Yes!” He celebrated silently. Now, the only obstacle left was winning. He could smell victory - it was so close, yet so far. “Now Trident! Fling it out of the stadium!” Flash Trident zoomed toward the outer rim, pushing Grand Nike toward the edge. “Fight back Nike! Northern Cross Shoot!” Nika exclaimed. The odds were on Nika’s side this time. Grand Nike managed to pull away, pushing Trident back. Nike swirled around the stadium, coming from the north side. It tilted on its fusion driver, giving it a sharp increase in speed. The bey slashed through Trident, flinging it into the air. Paris gulped. He hoped Toko could win. “Now’s our chance! We’re not going to lose! Diving Flash!” Toko bellowed, his loud voice projecting throughout the entire building. The stamina type dived down at incredible speeds. It was only a few seconds away from reaching Nike - from reaching victory. “Let’s do this, Grand Nike! Fusion Whirlwind!” Nika commanded. A strong, violent gust of wind wrapped around the balance type. However, it was simply too late for Trident to pull back. The vortex of wind carried Trident into the stadium wall, bursting it upon impact. “Two points to Grand Nike for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-2!” The referee announced. “Oh my goodness! Nika makes an extraordinary comeback and ties up the score! The suspense is real!” Hanami said excitedly. Toko, discouraged, put the Dome driver into Trident’s disc, putting the bey together. “Toko,” Trident said, “Do not be discouraged. Your loss is nothing but a mere setback. You’ve got this.” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Grand Nike immediately took the centre of the stadium. “It looks like it’s going to be a repeat of the second battle!” Hanami spoke into his microphone. Toko hoped that wasn’t true. This was a match point for both him and his sister - neither could afford to lose. Flash Trident zoomed into the middle of the stadium, where Grand Nike spun smoothly, only to get hit and sent back to the outer rim of the stadium. “Let’s give ‘em everything we’ve got! Power up, Trident! Flash Counter!” Toko boomed. Trident returned to the middle of the stadium and raced around the ring, creating an inescapable vortex. “It looks like Toko here is taking a page from Paris’ book and doing its own Immortal Stormbringer! This should be good!” Nika was amazed by her brother’s fierce and strategic movement. “We’re not giving up just yet! Go, Grand Rush!” She exclaimed. The balance type pulled off a string of fierce attacks, attempting to break the yellow barrier that Trident set. “Now Trident! Lower mode!” Toko commanded. Flash Trident lowered its driver height, giving it a brief boost in speed. “Close in!” He added. The vortex grew smaller, as Trident loomed around the centre faster and faster, it became almost invisible to the human eye. “Nike!” Nika observed that Grand Nike couldn’t last much longer. She was desperate to use whatever it took to win. “Ultra Northern Cross Shoot!” The yellow barrier soon dissipated, as Trident was affected by the recoil. The stamina type flung into the stadium wall, losing a significant amount of endurance. Grand Nike came rushing toward Flash Trident like a bullet. It was only a matter of seconds before the last point was handed to Nika. Toko quickly recalled to how most strong bladers won - Valt with Cho-Z Valkyrie Slash and Paris with Immortal Slash. He put all his remaining energy into one single attack. One that would either bring victory, or one that would bring defeat. Luck was all he had. “...END THIS NOW! TRIDENT SLASH!” Toko glowed a vibrant yellow, resonating with Trident. A golden beam of light appeared on one of Flash Trident’s rubber patches. “That won’t stop us!” Nika exclaimed confidently. Grand Nike fired, blasting through Flash Trident. The beam of light grew larger in size, expelling energy. “You’ve got this Trident! I believe in you!” Toko thundered. Wind and dust hurled out of the stadium, pushing both bladers back. It was impossible to see what exactly happened, but when the dust cleared... Flash Trident shot Grand Nike out of the stadium, bursting it. Toko fell to the floor, very exhausted. “Two points to Flash Trident for a Burst Finish! The score is now 4-2!” The referee announced, with a tint of excitement in his voice. “What an amazing conclusion to this battle! Toko snags the final two points as he moves on to battle Paris for a spot in the semi-finals! Meanwhile, Taiki and Daniel will be doing the same!” Paris and Toko both exchanged each other looks. He would now take Toko seriously as he recognised him not only as a friend, but as a strong blader. “I’m proud of you, Toko.” Nika smiled. “You deserve it. I remember our battle years ago, and you were always the stronger one. Win this next one for me, okay?” Toko nodded. “You can count on it.” And just like that, the blue-haired boy was no longer afraid. He was a different person now. Later that night, Paris tossed and turned in his bed, as thunder crackled overhead. He had a vision again. He returned to the same location as yesterday - a dark, gloomy castle with cloaked figures. “Boss, what is our plan?” A silver eye glinted inside the leader’s cloak. “If we are to create a bey- the strongest bey in the universe, stronger than Diablo Nemesis all those years ago, we will find Nemesis’ whereabouts first.” “How will we do that?” Another asked. “That man knows, don’t you? Gingka Hagane.” The leader laughed. Paris looked around and noticed a man, presumably unconscious, floating in a chamber with wires attached to his head. His eyes widened in shock. “That would be a crime, my lord,” one of them said. The leader’s silver eye glinted again as a strong, violent purple wind sent the person who asked the question into the wall. “The bigger crime would be to not finish what they started,” the cloaked leader responded. Paris exited the dream. He was panicking with fear regarding what happened with his father. For now, it was safe to assume it was only a dream. But Paris was unsure of how many more he was going to get. Chapter 23 - Daemon’s Rage! Pegasus’ Shared Power! Spoiler (Click to View)
Last time on Beyblade Burst Zero! Toko defeats Nika and advances to the next round, where he’ll have to face his friend and rival Paris! Meanwhile, Taiki will have to hold his own against Daniel! Paris woke up with a blast, as his light brown eyes filled with relief. He took a quick glance at his bey, Immortal Pegasus, which lay dormantly on his bedside table. His attention shifted over to the window beside his bed. Paris unveiled the curtains, revealing a vast licorice sky littered with stars. “It’s still night,” he thought to himself. “That means I’ll be up against Toko in a few hours.” Paris sunk into his blue-striped bed and decided to have somewhat of a rest. However, everytime his eyes shut, a question popped into his head. Albeit he had very strange dreams, often terrifying ones, this was like no other. Paris was almost certain that his past two were linked. “Who were those people?” “Is it only a dream?” “Who and what is Nemesis?” “What are they doing?” “What’s next?” And even so, he struggled to find an acceptable answer for one. Paris disliked illogical responses, but with little knowledge, that was all he had. “No. I’m not going to let a silly little fantasy of mine corrupt me. Pull yourself together, Paris,” the boy reminded himself firmly. Paris stared at the window with a sudden interest, and back at Immortal Pegasus. “It’s been a while since we’ve done this.” He slipped on his father’s old jacket and grabbed Pegasus, before leaving his Beigoman apartment. Paris thought he saw a bunch of shadows with multicolored auras at the door, but he shook his head and exited the building. “Looks like Gingka’s fame and power isn’t translating well to being a good teacher,” a green shadow remarked to the one below it. “The boy thinks he knows everything about Pegasus, when he clearly can’t handle the power. Even a single attack makes him exhausted,” another added. “Though, I can see a lot of him in you, Gingka,” a shadow with a red aura turned to another. Paris kept a blank face as Immortal Pegasus surged through the stadium. The attack type crashed into a wall before bursting. He was unfazed and hardly surprised, however. “Trident’s movements are quick and natural. The same goes with Revenge, Daemon, Valkyrie and basically anyone else. So I’m going to have to do the same.” Paris inserted Pegasus into his launcher and fired the bey into the stadium. He pulled his launcher with a significantly stronger tug than usual. “Alright. You got this Pegasus!” Paris exclaimed enthusiastically. Much to his confusion and frustration, the attack type whirled around the stadium multiple times before it crashed into the stadium and burst again. “W-where did I go wrong?” Paris fell to his knees. He looked up at the early morning sky, which marked a new day - the day that he’d battle Toko. Paris returned his undivided attention back to the stadium. “One last try. This time... it’s going to be different.” “Let it rip!” Immortal Pegasus zoomed through the stadium at incredible speeds, hurling wind everywhere. The boy zoned out into an empty white abyss, with a red button in front of him. Whenever he reached for it, it teleported behind him. The group of shadows from earlier appeared. They said in unison, “Paris Hagane. Tapping into your true potential is like pressing that button. If you can manage to do so..” They left the sentence there. Paris knew why - it was for him to complete. “LET’S DO THIS!” He yelled with passion. The boy lunged forward, and used the other arm to reach behind him. It left a lot of strain on his muscles and it hurt like crazy. Nonetheless, Paris was a lot of things. Someone who backed down wasn’t one of them. “IMMORTAL SLASH!” Paris bellowed as he destroyed the button, the landscape shattered like broken glass. Paris emitted a gold aura as a sharp blue lightning sparked out of him. “Full power!” Immortal Pegasus loomed around the stadium so fast it became invisible to the naked eye. Paris was extremely exhausted from using his full power, and collapsed, passed out cold. Pegasus did the same, and stopped spinning before bursting. A few hours later
“Oh my God Valkyrie! He’s dead!” Taiki shouted, as everyone gave him an irritated glare. “Paris? You there?” Charles shook him. He opened his light brown eyes. “I-I think so,” he replied as everyone shared a laugh. Aiga helped him up. “So, mind telling us what was going on?” Paris rubbed his eyes. “I did some training.” “Well I hope you can run. The battles are about to start!” Toko shouted before heading off. “Lucky me,” Paris groaned before chasing after him. The boys arrived at the WBBA building. “Good luck out there!” Aiga said, as Charles, Ryota walked with him to the seats. Toko seemed to be leaving, as he walked alone through the hallway. “Toko? Where are you going?” Paris asked. The light-blue haired boy turned around. “Until the battle’s over, we’re rivals. Don’t you hold back, because I have been training for weeks!” “What a weird kid,” Taiki muttered. The two walked toward the waiting room, where they saw Daniel lifting weights. “You’re up against him. Do you think you’re gonna be fine?” Paris looked worried. “Yeah. Don’t worry, because Theseus and I are going to win.” Taiki smiled. Hanami got out of his seat and double tapped the microphone. “Hey all you bladers! Today’s going to be a special one, so grab your popcorn because you’re in for a ride!” An overhead spotlight fixed on one of the metal doors which creaked open. “Our first competitor is Taiki Igarashi, the king of storms!” His aqua dreads were tied up in a ponytail. The crowd roared like a bunch of wild lions. “And against him is the Dark Dragon! Some call him the new Lui, and he’s Daniel Aziel!” Daniel was silent as ever. “Listen here. You may think you’re the best and that you’re going to win, and that’s your major flaw,” Taiki boomed. “So don’t you dare underestimate me, because I’m stronger than before!” “Pathetic. If you’re only in here to make motivational speeches, then leave. ‘Cuz when I’m done with you, you’re not going to have any left,” Daniel remarked. The noise died off quickly. “Wow! This battle hasn’t already started and the tensions are high!” Hanami said excitedly. Taiki absolutely hated people like Daniel. He almost wanted to punch him, but he decided to let his bey do the fighting. He flipped the Crown frame upside down, making the jagged points exposed. Daniel put his launcher away and held Havoc Daemon in his hand. “I’ll win this with a hand spin.” “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Havoc Daemon was wobbling unstably. Meanwhile, Adamantine Theseus rushed down for an early attack. “If I can attack him early, then he’ll at least be out of stamina,” Taiki strategized. “Now’s our chance Theseus! Adamantine Blade!” The prongs on the Ultimate Reboot driver retracted, giving the bey a massive increase in speed. Theseus came rushing down with its spiky, jagged side. Daemon was only a few inches away. “Dodge it,” Daniel commanded effortlessly. Havoc Daemon moved just enough to get out of the way. “N-no way!” Paris’ jaw dropped from the waiting room. “Take this! Adamantine Barrage Fury!” Theseus rushed through Daemon, giving it no chance of escaping. The dragon attack type was running out of stamina, but Daniel was the least concerned out of everyone. “You’re really getting on my nerves,” the Dark Dragon responded. Havoc Daemon broke free from Theseus’ grasp. “It’s nothing personal. You’re just not worthy,” Daniel added. “I’ll make it nice and quick! Demolish Break!” Havoc Daemon lowered into its driver, building energy into speed. “After him, Theseus!” Taiki ordered, but there was no use. Daemon erupted through the stadium and rode up the stadium walls, flinging itself into the air. “Lights out! Rebirth Dive!” Daniel thundered. The attack type ripped through the air, leaving a violent gust of wind that pushed both bladers back. “Look out, Theseus!” Taiki warned. Fortunately, it rolled back just in time. Both Theseus and Daemon were running out of stamina. “It’s a shame. So many bladers think they’re strong, but this it all that happens..” Daniel clicked his fingers and Adamantine Theseus burst instantly. “Two points to Havoc Daemon for a Burst Finish! The score is now 2-0!” The referee declared. “What a dramatic finish! Daniel scores himself a burst finish with nothing but a hand spin!” Hanami reported. Daniel pulled out his red and black string launcher from his pocket. “Y-you’re using a launcher?” Taiki asked with surprise. “Let’s be honest. Either way, I’d win,” Daniel replied. “Ready, set!” “Three!” “Two!” “One!” “Let it rip!” Theseus kept its distance from Daemon and raced around the outer rim of the stadium. “Now Daemon! Crush it!” The dark bey rushed through Adamantine Theseus, each hit dealing severe damage. “As long as Theseus holds a grip on the stadium floor, we’re not going to give up!” Taiki glowed a luminous aqua. “That’s it Taiki! You’ve got this!” Paris cheered. “So be it,” Daniel replied. “Rebound Uppercut!” Havoc Daemon’s wing slid underneath Theseus, flinging it into the air to the point of no return. “Uh oh,” Taiki said under his breath as Adamantine Theseus smashed into the ceiling, bursting upon impact. “Two points to Havoc Daemon for a Burst Finish! Daniel Aziel wins with the score of 4-0!” The crowd applauded with excitement. “What an explosive finish! You know what this means folks, Daniel Aziel makes it into the semi-finals!” His photo filled in a blank square alongside Roan and Xhan. “The fourth participant will be decided in tomorrow’s battle! Until then, stay tuned!” Hanami announced. Taiki fell to his knees as he wailed in defeat. Tears streamed out of his eyes, before he rubbed them aside. On their way home, Toko was missing. “Probably training again,” Charles guessed. “You did great out there, Taiki. It takes guts to even stand near Daniel, and you held your own pretty well. So you should see this battle as a win, more than as a loss,” Paris said. “Thanks,” Taiki smiled. “Does anyone have any beybread? I’m starving!” “There’s the same old Taiki,” Ryota sighed. Back at home, Paris noticed the shadows. “It’s a ghost! I’m cursed, aren’t I?” He screamed. “No,” they said. “Well yes, since most of us are dead, but we prefer the term Wielders of Pegasus.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Paris replied cluelessly. “Each and everyone of us has used Pegasus in the past. It’s not necessarily a family heirloom, but a power,” one of them responded. “Your Immortal Pegasus is a bey like no other. When you used your full power, you basically accessed our combined power,” another added. “Sweet! He wears a Black T-Shirt and a Dark Red jacket, and Black pants with Red stripes. He also wears a rose-gold necklace with a letter "D" pendant. Personality: He is extremely rude and shows little signs of sportsmanship, but is unbelievably nice to his brother, Gabriel Aziel. In battle, he will most likely make multiple insults at the opponent, unless he thinks the opponent is strong. He is not easily impressed, though. Beyblade: Havoc Daemon-An Attack-type, Right Spin Layer that is somewhat diamond shaped, with a Black, rubber wing on each side. Each wing is spring-loaded so the Beyblade can create Bound Attack, like God Valkyrie/Genesis Valtryek V3. In the middle of the Layer, there is a horned, dragon-like face facing forward. The primary colors are Black, Red, and Gray, and there is metal on top of the wings and under the Layer. The Bit-Beast is a horned, Dark Red dragon with metal armor and black wings made up of energy. Disk: 13 Driver: Demolish- A hexagon-shaped spring loaded rubber flat. The spring is there so the Driver can prevent harsh impacts against the stadium floor from launch, preventing accidental Self-KOs from bouncing, like Nothing and Absorb. The Driver is Red and the rubber is Black. Special Move: Rebound Uppercut- Daemon uses it's spring loaded wings to hit the opponent's Beyblade into the stadium wall, then hits under the opponent's Beyblade, sending it flying and in some cases bursting it. Rebirth Dive: Daemon slams itself into a stadium wall, launching it into the air. Daemon then dives back down into the stadium at an angle, moving with such speed it was like it was launched again. Edit: The tip can go all the way into the Driver like Nothing for a limited speed boost.
