Worn Variable or Xtreme? - leosama - Feb. 10, 2018
Yeah so it turned out that I’ll be able to make another purchase of either Odax o2 or Valtryek v2, but which of their tips lasts longer? Which one will hit harder? Will Xtreme be able to ring out Drain Fafnir most times, or would Worn Variable do a better job?
Help would be appreciated!?

xtreme is top tier part. if you are concerned about wear, buy two. it’s that good. variable is a bit faster, but the dip in stamina compared to xtreme is not proportional (i.e. a worn variable hits a bit harder, but it has much much less stamina).

Well mine is worn out till it's so smooth I've won by outspinning my opponents hahaha

that’s not really the question.
it’s possible for any tip to outspin another in a given match at some point given many other variables.
the question here is xtreme vs. a worn variable. i think a worn variable has less stamina than extreme. the faster you are, the more rotational energy you are expending for locomotion, rather than conserving that same energy for spin. xtreme is no stamina king in the least, but it has significantly more stamina than a completely worn variable.

That's where I disagree. Due to the difference in material, so far from my tests, the variable has better stamina when it's completely smooth.

Friction vs Surface Area
Takara Tomy has very hard rubber so it acts a little more like a very wide plastic tip. But it's so much faster since the surface is so wide
