Using WD40 to strengthen your launcher? - Zycratic - Aug. 03, 2017

Hey so basically a beytuber that I've been subbed to for a while now made a video where he fixed his Reboot driver using WD40, so it would activate quicker and have actual momentum, which I thought was really cool. And he made another video about opening up his sword launcher and using WD40 on the gears and such. Then he demonstrated the power side and the controlled side using God Valkyrie. The controlled side's power was equivalent to a long winder, and the power side's power was amazing. I just wanted to know if this is banned from use in tournaments because it looks cool, but it would make an unfair advantage in tournaments, and might even break some beys. The links to his channel and the two videos are here.

What... But WD40 only works with metal... Not plastic... .-.

It is illegal to use it on your reboot... But I do believe using WD40 to make launchers work smoother is legal... Though that could just be an outdated rule I'm remembering

Hi @[Kai-V] can u confirm if the lugecher thing is true or false tnx Andrew

True but maybe it can just clean out dust in between gears and make em "slipary" smoother.

I hope its legal as it makes almost all burst launcher much easier to use

RE: Using WD40 to strengthen your launcher? - Shaady - Aug. 03, 2017

I use silicon spray on all my launchers  (minus my beylaunchers) rather than WD40 as it works with plastics. It helps to reduce friction and unnessary breakages.

RE: Using WD40 to strengthen your launcher? - Kai-V - Aug. 04, 2017

Hm, the previous version of the Universal Rulebook had this sentence under the Legal Modification section:
Quote:• Coating the inside of a Launcher with a lubricant.

It seems that we have not really announced a change of ruling, but I do not know or remember why this disappeared in the new version. @[Kei]

RE: Using WD40 to strengthen your launcher? - DECEPTICON - Aug. 08, 2017

@[Kai-V] but why is loosening drivers illegal? It only makes them work like their supposed to (without the friction), and silicon spray/wd-40 is easily accessible.

I haven't done it yet and I'm actually looking to soon once I get the spray, but if I get disqualified for something like this in a tournament, then Imma really be upset...

Why would you put yourself at a high disadvantage?

He means loosening the Reboot mechanism to perform better, not loosening the teeth.

It's illegal because it gives you an advantage over people just using stock parts and the fix will vary in quality depending on how its performed, meaning that non-beyblade skill can affect the outcome of a match.
