My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Sticky - Feb. 02, 2008

Long story short, I have a rock bison and a gaia/strata dragoon G and they both stink. Strata just doesn't go any faster and if anything loses all speed and balance if the engine gear is activated. Rock bison is just...No. I just don't like it's size. I like the AR of it though. Anyway, any tips that could help? I keep hearing people say that engine gears are awesome! (Not here but other places).

Actually, you heard wrong. EGs are really terrible to use. Most are useful only for their ARs.

I liked Gaia Dragoon G's sub-ring a whole lot.

wolborg 4 is nice too

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Cye Kinomiya - Feb. 02, 2008

Rock Bison's AR is good for defense, or so I've heard.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Bey Brad - Feb. 02, 2008

The consensus is that the G series is pretty awful, usurped by only the V series because every V Beyblade is absolutely useless. Some good ARs, though (Dragoon G and Driger G come to mind).

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Blue - Feb. 02, 2008

haha contrary to the opinions above, I LOVE (D) my G series, and thought they were a marvel. Along with V2, G> were the most fun and innovative.

Sticky, you have the topic where you modified your draciel stadium. Is that your only stadium? If so, that too effects their performance.

EGs suck

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - narushi - Apr. 28, 2008

Well, actually dranzer G is really good. This guys EG helped me win about 17 inpossible rounds. Joyful_3

Once in a hasbro stadium my dranzer G went into the holes about 3 times and just when it was about to stop, the eg kicked in and I won. ^^

Also another time when I was using a takara stadium. my friend almost hit me out of the staduim but when it was on the rim of the stadium the eg activated and dranzer flew back into the stadium and knocked out my friends combo.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Bey Brad - Apr. 28, 2008

I always saw relying on the engine as sort of a last-ditch effort.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - narushi - Apr. 28, 2008

Well, the final clutch BB helped me win one of the tournaments I joined so... I really glad I bought it.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Bey Brad - Apr. 28, 2008

It's always cool to hear stories like that ... how something unexpected snagged the match. I can just imagine it, it must've seemed like a very dire situation, and then your EG kicked in and won you the match!

I was never a huge fan of EGs though ... I almost never use them, they're just too unreliable.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - narushi - Apr. 29, 2008

Well believe it or not. The story I posted is a true one. The only EG I kinda like is dranzer G's.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Siliva - Apr. 29, 2008

Errrgh, Engine Gears...I don't like 'em too much. The engines always go off at the wrong time, and the Beyblades themselves were carp. However, I think Driger Gatling was pretty good. And Dragoon Galaxy wan't bad for a Dragoon.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - narushi - Apr. 29, 2008

Actually dranzer G isnt as bad either. Did all your EGs go off at the time every battle?

Dranzer G's EG has kicked in at a good time in 70% of all it battles.

Personally, I think DragoonGT isn't too bad, solely because of the rubber. Also, I'm using a G series bearing custom,

partially due to its awesome looks, but also because it actually functions decently.

I also used to use WolborgIV EG in left spin, but that has become illegal.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Kei - Apr. 29, 2008

I never really found any useful uses for any of the EGs, but there probably are some that are good that I wasn't able to buy. Am I the only one who always thought the bases were way to big?

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - bugturtles - Apr. 29, 2008

Nic, what's the object under that custom? (haha i see your math homework)

I still think slow-releasing EG's are better (ex Wolborg 4 lol).

Bursted or sudden releases don't really work for me. =/

Physics homework from last year.

Anyway, the thing I find about fast release is that most EG tips are too smooth to really take advantage of it. That's what's nice about Dragoon GT, it's marginally more efficient, I think.

You're probably not alone.

I think engine gears can be powerful when they are used properly. Particularly first clutch, because it's easier to control where they are when the clutch releases (which is immediately).

Actually, I think he's talking about the metal object underneath the tip.

Agreed. Having an engine within your beyblade was just tops, guys. It might not have been too useful, but the idea and execution of the Engine Gear system was pretty fun.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2008

I find mechanisms such as Dranzer V2's clutch far more interestnig than the EGs ... if they had performed with a little more stability, that would be a different issue altogether.

RE: My engine gear blades and why they suck. - delete this account kthx - May. 02, 2008

I never really got into the engine gear beyblades. I liked the designs on them and the attack rings though.
