Camera-Girl sells authentic items. I've purchased from him/her many times already.

For me, it was when I saw the "4d" set MADNESS ROTATION. I don't think that would suit any name for a set, or description for one.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Xander - May. 24, 2012

I was wondering if the launcher grip in this auction was real or not.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beyblade-Metal-Fusion-4D-Phantom-Orion-B-D-BB-118-With-Launcher-Grip-New-/270922712356?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f14408524

Thanks.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - ElderBow - May. 24, 2012

Well the bey isn't fake. I'm not so sure about the grip, although it looks a lot like mine and mine is real.

Ya, The Phantom Orion is real, But I don't see any "Launchergrip", or "Beypointer" anywhere on the Launcher Grip, Although it says that Takara-Tomy is the brand of the item, I'm pretty sure that they mean the Phantom. If anyone knows any REAL Launchergrip with none of the "Launchergrip" or "Beypointer (Or Random Hasbro Lines) then Please Correct me.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Eternal Blader - May. 24, 2012

There is no real laucher grip with Launcher grip or Beypointer not on it, unless you count hasbro's grip. my SK grip has LG and BP engraved on it, and all the fakes I saw on ebay didn't.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Kai-V - May. 24, 2012

I confirm that it is a fake Launcher Grip. The same background setup was used to take pictures of sets where there were only fake items, but for some reason they now have some official products instead.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - ElderBow - May. 24, 2012

Ah, thank you Kai-V. That sadly means my launcher grip is fake. Can you use fake launcher grips in tournaments?

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Kai-V - May. 24, 2012

No. However, I dare hope that there will be a kind soul who can lend you one.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - ElderBow - May. 24, 2012

I wish. I'm planning on getting a new one anyway because it broke. The new one has a beypoint card too. I'm on my IPad so I can't post pictures. Here is the link to it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beyblade-Metal-Fight-3-Segment-Bey-Launcher-Grip-BB73-BB-73-w-Bey-point-card?item=160794816733&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8633738463319947041#ht_9952wt_1181

Can you tell if it's real or not?

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Kai-V - May. 24, 2012

I actually think that one is fake too ... The fact that the item description said that it was not an official item from TAKARA-TOMY and that it came from Hong Kong seemed suspicious, because I think Hong Kong never got the BeyPoint Card. Comparing with my BB-98 white 3 Segment Launcher Grip, it also seems that the copyrights are supposed to be written inside the launcher holder part, and all you can see on the black one is "Made in China".

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - ElderBow - May. 24, 2012

Darn...I will continue exploring eBay tomorrow then.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Xander - May. 24, 2012

Thanks for the replies. Usually I would write it off as fake because it had no packaging, but I found it with a real beyblade so I thought I'd ask.

It really isn't that hard. eBay sellers will indicate Takara Tomy in the description for authentic items, and there are some reliable sellers, even from Hong Kong. There's dimsum2u and buzztoy2007, for starters, who sell authentic gear. Good luck!

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Cannon - May. 25, 2012

If there is anywhere in the description/title/whatever, that says "bulk", it will usually mean it's fake.

Also, 3-Segment grips are supposed to have the word "Segment Grip" or something similar, where the bar is holding the Beyblade point-card.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Fantomu - May. 25, 2012

The handle should have the word : LG3S. The bar says 3segment. Smile

The handle does say LG3S. Wink

But if you're just stating, then yes, you're correct.

Does Aladdin Co. In Korea sell authentic, legal items?

I do not really think so.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Raigeko13 - May. 31, 2012

IIRC, Aladdin Co. is a company that makes some bad fake ones. Worse than Rapidity I believe.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - Hazel - May. 31, 2012

Aladdin Co. is in fact a fake manufacturer - they make those horrible Stadia and many of the fake grips.

RE: theflightyellz's guide to fakes and searching. - zionson - Jun. 12, 2012

Just a note, and I don't know if this has been mentioned in the thread (sorry, it's a fairly long thread) ... but many of the factories that produce authentic Takara-Tomy Beyblades ALSO produce fake (e.g., Rapidity) Beyblades. Take the Shantou Chenghai Grandbo Toys Factory in Guangdong, China, for example. It produces actual Takara Tomy Beyblades (they're a TT supplier) but also produces fake Beyblades.

Example:

Original Takara Tomy Beyblade produced in Guangdong, China - Diablo Nemesis

Fake Beyblade, easy to spot - Sol Blaze

Fake Beyblade, harder to spot - R Orso D125B

Fake Beyblade, very hard to spot - L-Drago Destroy F:S

All these Beyblades come from the same factory in China.
