Pokemon Showdown - Anchor - Aug. 25, 2013
This thread is basically for people who play pokemon showdown. Basically, pokemon showdown is an online battle simulator where you can battle a bunch of other people from around the world with whatever pokemon you want in all the different tiers, and such. Pokemon showdown also has chat rooms to discuss pokemon, and even other things. So in this thread, you guys should post your pokemon showdown names, and battles. I have been considering downloading one of these since all of the time I put into EV Training and trying to get the perfect IV's was all for nothing after my DS met the wheel of a dump truck.
It seems there are a few of these and they are constantly changing which one is the best out of them.
Is this the best one out currently?

I like Pokemon showdown the best. Pokemon online is awesome too, but the sprites aren't animated like showdown. I use it since EV training is such a hassle and honestly takes way too long. And then you have to get the items, and the perfect natures, and stuff and it's not really worth it.

Showdown is awesome and Challenge Cup is one of the greatest formats ever used in Pokemon. The amount of fun I've had playing Pokemon like that is unimaginable.
I used to actively play competitive Pokemon but now I mainly play Challenge Cup. You can challenge me (I'm GaHooleone) on there in most any format but I'll probably just goof around and use teams of my favorites unless it's Challenge Cup haha.

You basically get random pokemon, and battle other people with random pokemon.

To my knowledge, it's one of the only ones you can play in your browser, without downloading anything.

Showdown is a battling sim, so it's just a replica of the battling system found in the games - There's no need to catch or train anything - You just switch around some options to determine moves, ability, IVs & EVs, etc.

Don't avoid the word filter, you're on a website aimed towards a younger audience. Showdown is a safe download, considering that several other people here, myself included, have it and use it.
Well maybe you shouldn't be clicking those links telling you that you won a free iPad, hm?

Is Pokemon Showdown even a download? I play it on my browser. Pokemon Online is the simulator you need to download to play. You don't have to download Showdown.
