Video Game OSTs - Nic - Nov. 22, 2007 So. Does anyone here listen to them outside of games? Or do you see them as just background music to set an atmosphere while playing a game? Discuss. RE: Video Game OSTs - Roan - Nov. 22, 2007 Most of the time I appreciate video game music as background atmosphere. There are certain exceptions, however. I have every 3D Zelda's soundtrack and I listen to it on occasion, particularly Twilight Princess'. I want to download Mario Galaxy's soundtrack as it's purely amazing, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Oh, and I actually own a couple songs from the BioShock soundtrack as they came with the Limited Edition of the game. I'm pretty sure they're remixes though. I haven't listened to them so I'm not sure. lol RE: Video Game OSTs - Bey Brad - Nov. 22, 2007 FFIX <3 RE: Video Game OSTs - Carina - Nov. 22, 2007 I love listening to video game music. Right now I'm completely loving on the Persona 3 OST, as well as Subarashiki Kono Sekai's. I've also had the chance to go to one of those live VG music concerts (VGL to be precise) and it's seriously one of the best experiences ever. Video game music sounds a million times more epic played live. RE: Video Game OSTs - Bey Brad - Nov. 22, 2007 ultima55 Wrote:I love listening to video game music. RE: Video Game OSTs - Litrid - Nov. 23, 2007 I personally like the Halo OST its very good RE: Video Game OSTs - Bey Brad - Nov. 23, 2007 If Uematsu wasn't involved, it's not an FF worth listening to. Then again, there hasn't been a good FF since IX anyway. RE: Video Game OSTs - Cye Kinomiya - Nov. 23, 2007 FF VIII! RE: Video Game OSTs - bugturtles - Nov. 23, 2007 I have a game rip of the Ace Combat 6 soundtrack, a few songs from Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, I think. I like the battle songs better though. I also have the Halo OST (Combat Evolved, not anything else). I only like the rock theme. =/ And finally F-Zero's guitar compilation. I especially like "Big Blue". RE: Video Game OSTs - sam's temp - Nov. 23, 2007 Metal Gear Solid music was pretty nice. Ocarina of Time had some great midi stuff if that counts. I dunno, I'm enjoying FFXII: Revenant Wings very much, and I didn't even finish FFXII, lol. RE: Video Game OSTs - AnnieDuck - Nov. 23, 2007 Guilty Gear is all kinds of badass. Overworld theme. I just see that as a musical masterpiece. Take it from me, I'm a musician and once you really start to analyze the specific notes of the 8-bit music, you see a lot of harmonies that really do sound wonderful RE: Video Game OSTs - NoodooSoup - Feb. 05, 2011 Super Mario Galaxy has beautifully orchestrated songs, and Mother 3 is just plain awesome. I listen to a lot of songs from both on my free time. |
