Fav Jp Bands - OSW - Nov. 17, 2007

share your favourite japanese bands. (i do like western music, but am more into jp stuff atm)

Beat Crusaders - mainly sing in english (imperfect Pinching_eyes_2) but i love their beats
Orange Range - I like quite alot of their work; often the interludes of rap in between melodies keep me interested.
L'arc en Ciel - yep, don't like all their work though.
Shocking Lemon - again, don't love all their work but they have a nice unique style and often good melodies.

interesting that my first experience of all of them came from anime OPs Grin.

RE: Fav Jp Bands - Elmo - Nov. 17, 2007

I haven't ever gotten into Japanese bands, sadly Unhappy
My classmates exposed me to indie rock and alternative.
I listen to Japanese bands whenever I can (especially in animes), as with all other genres of music. The only music I truly despise is Country and Rap/Hip Hop.

The GazettE is the only band I actually know the name of, and they ARE decent, but they really look animated in the music videos. Are they supposed to? Chocked

RE: Fav Jp Bands - Bey Brad - Nov. 17, 2007

Dir en grey
the GazettE
Shiina Ringo

girl groups are <3 but i don't listen to them that often.

RE: Fav Jp Bands - Nic - Nov. 17, 2007

Dir En Grey, X Japan

Everything else I listen to tends to be misc. collections from various bands.

Teri-yaki BOYZ

RE: Fav Jp Bands - Katashi - Nov. 18, 2007

Dir en Grey (All-time first place, as they are the actual band that got me into Japanese music)

Malice Mizer (Mostly Gackt era. Klaha ain't so bad, though)

Gackt (Can we consider him a band?)

The GazettE (Quickly becoming my first-place group)

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE (Death Note hooked me)

Nightmare (Only heard two songs thus far, but I see myself liking these guys)

X Japan (I haven't heard enough to fall in love with them, but I like them all right. Recommend any good songs?)

Alice Nine (To be honest, I haven't listened to them in a while. I might start again.)
