My friend has that and it's pretty cool. And Artie, what scale is it? 1/100 MG? RE: Gundam Models - mdhvdukshsj - Nov. 18, 2007 yeah, 1/100 MG RE: Gundam Models - G - Nov. 18, 2007 Sweeeeet Post pics up whenever you finish RE: Gundam Models - Agitation - Nov. 18, 2007 No detail... [Image: dscf0047my6.th.jpg] [Image: dscf0043it5.th.jpg] RE: Gundam Models - bugturtles - Nov. 18, 2007 I'm thinking of getting some Gundam FIX Figuration sooner or later. Is it worth it? They look really nice when built. I'm especially aiming for the Metal Composite ones. RE: Gundam Models - Elmo - Nov. 19, 2007 Agitation Wrote:No detail... The gold is nice . I want to get some 1/100 seed models now, I haven't bought one yet. I wanted one of those FIX Crossbones or that Sentinel Gundam ones, but yeah they're really expensive. They look really nice, but aren't they just as tall as the normal Gundam figures (4.5-5 inches?) with a bunch of accessories? RE: Gundam Models - bugturtles - Jul. 07, 2008 k im gonna bump this carp up. Planning on getting these (not all at once haha): http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN946728 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN900584 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN77167 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN77072 Thoughts, remarks, don't-get-this-model statements? Are weapons interchangeable from model to model, according to size? Such as a large cannon on a 1/100 model being able to be held on a different 1/100? If not, it'll have to be modified, right? RE: Gundam Models - mdhvdukshsj - Jul. 07, 2008 i carp hate these things RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 07, 2008 I'm not sure of what to suggest for those, but I use this site for a reference for consultation: http://www.dalong.net/ You can use a translator to translate. I'd personally Lucas's Strike since it's pretty kick carp. Most of them should be interchangeable, but it depends on the kit. But keep in mind there's a difference between a 1/100 and a 1/100 MG. BUt yeah, if they don't fit, things can be modded easily. RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 07, 2008 Artie Wrote:i carp hate these things lol which kit did you get? RE: Gundam Models - mdhvdukshsj - Jul. 07, 2008 i dont know RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 07, 2008 I'm still working on my: SD Strike SWS SD Strike Freedom SD Destiny 1/100 Astray Blue Frame Second L I'll get pics up eventually. RE: Gundam Models - bugturtles - Jul. 07, 2008 Artie Wrote:i carp hate these things i got pissed off at how i needed to sand the thing to make it look nice then sand again then again and again and again only for it to still have those plastic nubs on the parts RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 07, 2008 For that, I usually use a nail clipper first. You won't need to sand as much then. RE: Gundam Models - Nic - Jul. 07, 2008 I love the way my nail clippers have little files on them. I found one with a file that works as well as sandpaper. RE: Gundam Models - To - Jul. 07, 2008 I only ever did a few of Bandai's domestic SD releases. I knew I never could have the patience to build those bigger ones, simply because I'm sure I would have broken them in a fit of rage while trying to build them. RE: Gundam Models - AnnieDuck - Jul. 07, 2008 The themed Gundams from Zeta were rad as carp RE: Gundam Models - bugturtles - Jul. 07, 2008 Composer of Requiems Wrote:I love the way my nail clippers have little files on them. I like this feature on some nail clippers as well, but it is usually too small for me to use effectively. =/ RE: Gundam Models - Blue - Jul. 07, 2008 Dudes? use an excato Knife? very easy get flush-ness like since dawn of time I used that on beyblade spars too.. RE: Gundam Models - bugturtles - Jul. 10, 2008 Blue Wrote:Dudes? use an excato Knife? very easy get flush-ness I will try this as well. ----- Also asking this (c/p from mechatalk etc): I was wondering how one would know when to panel, and what colors to panel. I have read that some use a grey color, while others use black. (grey is more subtle while black is more of a pop-up/emphasis look?) What panel colors would you use on different colored parts? How do I make the paneling make the model look more realistic rather than anime-styled? RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 10, 2008 Well I haven't done paneling yet... I've tried on old kits, but I'll wait until I order a fine point Gundam marker. I hear to use Grey on white and black on the darker colors. That's the only advice I've heard on paneling. There's also some kind of an eraser you can use to clear out excess marker and make it look better, but I'm not sure what type does it. Maybe a crayon eraser? I saw some Bandai Gunpla video on Youtube, and they didn't specify. It's probably a soft eraser you could get normally, but you can use a hobby knife or cotton swab as well. RE: Gundam Models - G - Jul. 10, 2008 It might say in this, but this also works as a nice reference: http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/213/Gundam+Modeling+Tutorial/ |
