I always find with beans, I can NEVER eat them as I they, I have to mash them up because their original texture goes through me

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - Bey Brad - Dec. 10, 2008

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

Got a point, It's why I don't normally eat beans because unless I do it, I can't eat them (That and my stomach gives me hell afterwards because it's tomato)

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) I'm not meant to eat anything acidic or spicy because it irritates my stomach and makes me keel over in pain. Though I don't learn since I eat spag bol all the time and pay dearly.

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - Bey Brad - Dec. 10, 2008

no, i mean i'm pretty sure beans don't come from tomatoes

Baked beans have tomato sauce in them.

you realize there are a lot of ways to eat beans right

this is like saying "pasta has tomatoes in it"

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

what I meant was that baked beans generally have tomato sauce in them (Well, the canned ones we have here do anyway) Though i've seen them used in various things like chilli con carne.
We just refer to baked beans as "beans" here, the british have a habit of shortening things, so to other people, it would normally confuse them.

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - BeyUK-Espio - Dec. 10, 2008

The general term Baked Beans in the UK refers to Beans being eaten in a tomato based sauce. We also refer to baked beans as beans because that is what the british do lol. I'm sorry if this caused any confusion amongst the US/Canadian/Australian/Turkish etc. I should have stated this earlier.

I dunno, the last time I thought I'd bake cookies I screwed them up. Which is why I haven't cooked them since. I was all 'I'll give them a few more minutes......' and then 20 mins later 'OH carp THE COOKIES D:'.

Also, I've always wondered, who is the person in your avi?

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

Have you ever played a game called Guilty Gear?
It's a character on it called May, shes a pirate, Dresses in orange, well fun to cosplay, hits people with a big anchor and summons dolphins/whales to hit people.

And I've done that once with muffins XD

Ah, well that would explain the name. And I dunno if I've played it. Heard loads about it but don't own it......may have played it at a friends house. She sounds fun. XD Though I always thought she looked a bit like the rabbit girl from Full Moon. Uncertain

I do it constantly. XD I'm actually an okay cook when I'm concentrating but I'm pretty forgetful otherwise.....

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

It's easy to forget something's in the oven when you get distracted, you only then notice when someone either a: brings up the topic of food, or when you can actually smell the burning XD

Beans on toast the best? Surely not. You can get packets of instant noodles for around six pence from tescos and asda and stuff. That's like $0.11 or something I think.

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 10, 2008

The spicy prawn ones from Lidl are by far the best theyre like 20p and worth it

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - Bey Brad - Dec. 11, 2008

oh my god please stop talking about this carp in my COOKING THREAD

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - May The Pirate - Dec. 11, 2008

Fine.
I feel like proper ramen now from talking about noodles.
Like, the properly prepared stuff, not packaged carp. There's a japanese restaurant in the town centre that do the tastiest ramen dishes I have ever had.
