Galettes are like Crépes but they're savoury. I had a galette once that was made with wholemeal flour.......it was pretty damn gross. Pinching_eyes_2

Eh, well I found some pics of some Gruyère and Onion quiche I made. I actually made them a while ago but I haven't posted any pics in here and thought it would be nice for people to be under the impression that I can cook. XD

Mm look nice, Rocky. My Shepard's pie is under the oven now Grin

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - Rocky - Feb. 14, 2009

I love Sheperds Pie. Grin Well the veggie version anyways.......actually, I love pretty much anything with mashed potato. Grin

And Pegasis, Gruyere is a type of cheese so it's just a cheese and onion quiche. If you don't know what quiche are then.......they basically have a pastry outside like a pie (but with none on top) and then this tasty fluffy stuff in the middle. It's a bit like scrambled egg only not as lumpy. And with veggies or meat and stuff in it.

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - MuchWow - Feb. 14, 2009

Bump!
We're having guests tomorrow and I'm going to be brave. I'll be making chicken leg tandoori:

Along with this rice pilau: http://www.naughtycurry.com/home/2005/12/rice_goes_truly.html

Along with this raita: http://fxcuisine.com/Default.asp?Display=47

This will be either delicious or disastrous.

RE: Cooking Thread: your "i cant cook" jokes aren't clever - Anu - Jun. 05, 2009

Don't scoop the cucumber, that's a waste of time. Just use a grater, much faster.

Tandoori chicken is pretty easy to make, it's just a yogurt based marinade. If you have any questions hit me up. I've made everything but that pulao. However if you are willing to take suggestions, skip the raisins. Something like raisins with Tandoori chicken are two flavors I can't see mixing well together.

A good chef or Indian cooking would be Sanjeev Kapoor. Check his stuff out.

I've had raisins with tandoori before and I love it! I actually went out of my way to find a pilau recipe with raisins.

I probably seeing it being a bit hit or miss though. Like a love it or hate it thing.
